Oliver Twist one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’ is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century. He went for walks with them or Rose read to him and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty. How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded. For me the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary as the famous saying goes ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’ he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

I thought it’s normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. I’m a prejudiced person so I can’t find where’s wrong.

All the story is told by a piolet ,who is another hero in the tale and met the little prince in the Sahara .At the end of the story ,the little prince died on the Earth with the piolet.

The writer made the story from the child’s view.Actually,what the prince said is what the writer wanted to said.The theme of the story is to criticize the human beings’ drawbacks.As a alien, the little prince could see the human beings’ disadvantages clearly. In my opinion ,The Little Prince is more than a funny book written for the children.It is a kind of profound reflection of humans.Everyone finishing reading the book can form his thought in his mind. The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a great part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.

I first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.

On summer vacation of this year, I studied in novel " old man and sea " of Hemingway , famous writer of U.S.A. ,. I admire the old fishermans will in the novel very much, he lets me understand that a person must have unremitting spirit, could succeed . What the novel is described is an old fisherman almost the sixty years old, when go to sea and fish alone once, have angled to a big fish, but can not draw. After tough fisherman and fish have socialized for a few days, just find this is a big Malins fish which exceeds several times of ones own fishing boat, though know perfectly well that it is very difficult to win , does not give up yet. Because big Malin fish fishlike smell of wound attract odd herds of shark vie for the food again later, but the old man is still unwilling to give up like this, stress the tight encirclement finally , take the large fish back to fishing port , let other fishmen admire it endlessly. Santiago, an old man about sixty years old, fished alone with nothing caught in eighty four days. The Old Man and the Sea tells a frustrated experience of the old man who fishes alone in the sea in plain languages. Through the simple lines, a “tough guy” image is shaped and heroism is praised. The whole story starts with a peaceful beginning which is some trivial of life and talking with the boy, and suddenly turns to its climax which is the dangerous fighting with the big fish and sharks alone in the sea, and ends with the old man’s return with the bare skeleton of the big Marlin. Though the boy only appears at the beginning and the ending in the novel, he plays an indispensible role, it is his inspiring and supporting that helps the old man to be “graceful under heavy pressure”.

In the book, the old man prepared his fishing properly and preciously than any other fishermen so that “Then when luck comes you are ready” as the old man thought to himself. In reality, some of us keep complaining that they are born in wrong time or good luck never knocks their doors. In fact, good luck sometimes just comes when they are not ready. Taking Newton for example, if he had not acquired a lot, millions of apples could never make him discovery the gravity. So if we just keep studying as much as we can, good luck will finally find us and a bright future is ahead of us. The old man never gives up hope. When all of people think he is doomed, he still strongly believes that he will get a big fish. And he does. So never giving up hope is very important to us. This reminded me of the sentence in Churchill’s speech “Never give up, never, never, never…”. “But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated” has always been inspiring me when I counter with some setbacks in my life. Setbacks are inevitable in pursuit of our goals, but we should never be frustrated and should be “graceful under heavy pressure” like the old man. It is his relentless pursuit that contributes to the victory.

20__年10月6日晚上，我阅读了一本《平凡的世界》却是五彩斑斓的，有悲有喜，有贫有福、有苦有乐，有情有义，在一片茫茫的黄土之上，一群普通通的劳苦大众不断克服社会潮流的影响创造出属于自己的新生活。如果说时代的大背景能影响无数千千万万个体的命运，却总有那么几个顽强的灵魂不断的突破上天的限制，战胜自我，突破束缚，克服灵魂中最懦弱的一面，打开一扇不同凡响的大门。读完此书，豁然开朗，给予灵魂一次全新的洗礼。体谅家庭、感悟善良、懂得勤劳，明白责任，相信爱情，一幕幕都是故事，何尝又不是对我们生活的指引。

故事从黄土高原的一个小家庭开始，历史的因素让贫穷成为了每一个家庭的共性，在面对这极端贫困的条件下，他们都在以自己的努力去改变家庭以及整个家族的方向。孙玉厚是一个老实人，一家之主，他勤恳敬业，尽管能力有限，仍将弟弟的婚事当做自己的事情来操办;少安是全书的灵魂，无论在什么条件下，都会同自己的家长与兄弟姊妹保持在同一方向;少平是最具有活力的角色，但是无论他身处何地，双水村永远都是他的根，家中的亲人永远都是他最柔弱的那一部分。幸福的家庭是相似的，这相似点就在于一个家庭的团结与体谅。不幸的家庭各有不同，杜丽丽以追逐“浪漫”的名义放纵欲望的横行;金富因懒惰而走上了非法致富的道路。而幸福的孙家，每个人都在追逐自己的人生价值，可是每个人都不仅仅只顾自己的利益，既相互帮扶支持，也在对方最困苦的时候同甘共苦。家庭成员可能会分开，但是血脉的牵连永远也不会分离。读完此书，无限的感慨涌上心头，就如自己的家庭一样，十年几年来，每年聚在一起的时光不到一个月的时间，但是无论距离有多远，走到哪里，始终都以母亲为核心紧紧的建设这个小家庭。人可能会分散在全国各地，但是心永远紧密相连。

家是温暖的岸，而岸堤的基石是善。善人者，人亦善之。不管是少安还是少平，他们都是淳朴善良的人，也正是因为他们的良善，好运一直伴随在他们的身边。如果说家庭之间的相互帮助因为血缘关系，但是对邻居以及陌生人的包容理解与帮助，那就是善良最直观的体现。少安在砖厂效益还不是特别的好的时候，能帮助村民的，尽量去帮助村民;少平遇到小翠被欺压的时候，用自己全部的家当协助她脱离;王世才在煤矿底下，勇敢的用生命挽救下工友;润叶在洪水当中，奋不顾身跃入洪水猛兽当中挽救另外一个小生命。这一切，让我们看到淳朴的劳动者，善良并不是他们的天性，却是他们的选择。当他们做出这一选择的时候，其实他们已经脱离农民阶层的历史局限性，因为善良而让灵魂得到升华。

“只有劳动才可能使人在生活中强大。不论什么人，最终还是要崇尚那些能用双手创造生活的劳动者”，在本书当中，推动故事发展最重要的一个因子就是勤劳。因为勤劳，贫困家庭经济面貌得到了巨大的改变;因为勤劳，少平的知识水平与日俱增;因为勤劳，每个人的生活都焕发出新的生机。勤劳并不是投机取巧，而是一步一个脚步去打拼自己的生活，尽管在故事当中，每一个都仅仅只有一个改变自己生活的信念，他们不知道具体改变的方法也不知道要如何才能做的很完美，但是他们都会认真坚持去做到完善。砖厂、鱼塘、养蜂、运输、挖煤都是一些很普通的不能再普通的工作，可是这一群人，能把这些普通的工作做到极致的完美。而反观我们的“二流子”王满意，满脑子的投机取巧最终也只能落得一个碌碌无为靠妻子终老。勤劳是我们最美好的品质，世界会亏待很多人，但是永远也不会放弃一个勤劳的人，而能够改变命运改变生活的，最终也是勤勤恳恳兢兢业业而不是投机取巧。在一天又一天单调而又重复的生活当中，积累财富，创造价值，最终改天换地，这就是劳动人民勤劳的力量。

如果说家庭、善良、勤劳仅仅是因个体而体现出来的感人精神，那么责任是全篇最为动容的一条主线。何谓责任，就是田福军在意识形态主导生产的时候仍然坚持实事求是;何谓责任，就是乔书记亲临基层第一线跑遍各县区，挤上公交车去体验平民疾苦;何谓责任，就是孙家兄弟在自己发家致富的同时，也给予身边的人正能量并且帮助他们不断的脱贫致富。责任就是一个人的担当，来源于内心深处强烈的社会使命感和荣辱观，就如少安在村中修学校就是最好的表现。在我们生活的圈子当中，活着不只是为自己，也是为了改变我们生存的环境。这个世界并没纯粹的乐土，有的更多的是如何把自己生存的环境建设成了一片乐土，这就叫责任。对社会，对家庭，对生活，唯有热爱，才会由心而生的滋生出对家国最美的情怀。

也不能否认，爱情的故事是感人的，他给予人改变未来的力量，遇到更好自己的信念。《平凡的世界》当中，大部分的爱情故事都以遗憾而结束，但是在这些幸运与不幸的故事当中，人性因此而升华。少安的爱情是凄美而幸福的，凄美于与润叶的错过，幸福于与秀莲的厮守;少平的爱情是悲痛的，突破世俗相知相爱却不能相守，最终阴阳两隔;润叶的爱情最终是感人的，生活中的变故是润滑剂，让她明白生命的意义与生活的价值从而成长;金波与青海姑娘、润生与红梅的爱情故事是大胆而热烈的，他们完完全全的突破的世俗的眼光，去追求自己的幸福;而杜丽丽却是值得唾弃与鄙夷的，“浪漫主义精神”指引人热情奔放，由心而发，可从来没有教人如何在生活中违背家庭伦理道德，家庭的解体纯粹的是自我作贱。那么美好的爱情应当是什么样子呢?首先应当是真诚的，彼此的真诚是两个灵魂走到一起的基础条件;其次应当是大胆的，爱没有理由，世俗有很多条条框框的不成文的规定，而真正的爱情却可以突破所有的限制;最后，爱是建立在吸引之上的一种付出，每个人都有自己的个性，但是当他们遇到那个人的时候，慢慢的就开始改变，也许最初的并不是一定是非常正确，但是因为爱给予改变的力量让最初的选择变得越来越正确。全书所有感情故事，幸福的爱情表现形式只有一种，理解、懂得、陪伴、支持、付出，而不幸的却千奇百怪。这何尝又不是人生百态，各种酸甜苦辣的直观体现呢?在爱的世界里，没有对与错，更没有理性与因果，灵魂的流露就叫真情。

"The Little Mermaid lifted her glorified eyes towards the sun, and felt them, for the first time, filling with tears.” The Mermaids sacrifice is not incidental, or because she made the mistake of loving a human, or because she wanted a soul, or be a complete human, or as her final rite of passage.

Obviously ,as human beings and ‘children of God’， we should possess the essential goodness. The fairy tales show us about the importance of kindness, of perseverance, of obedience which we should follow in life.

I love the theme of Andersens Fairy tales : "There is no love greater than this: That someone gives his life for his friend." It also points out the importance of wisdom in a persons life. we can see more important aspects of life.

在这次劳累而又难忘的英语节当中，我体会到了许多。

在英语课上的各种活动中，我感受到我们缺乏太多团结。一个活动中，是要“两人三足”的形式来拿东西的。这个形式，需要的就是配合，才能往返的快。可有些同学是连拖带拽的把另一个同学拉到终点再给他拽回来。这就说明我们不够团结一致。在跳蚤市场中，我发现我们的经商不是很强。有的东西太贵，没人买；有的东西太便宜，亏成本。在别人的铺子里，经常看到一些抢着买的人群。这是因为别人的价格恰到好处，有时还有赠品，别人看的上。由此可见我们的经商还是比别人差了那么一点。在寻宝活动中，我发现我们的词汇量太少，一些句子当中的单词我们根本见都没见过，可见还要多锻炼。还有一个小活动叫“连词成句”。我原本以为这些句子都会很简单的，加上我和赵君安的才华，一定能写出来。结果到我们的时候，我们拿到纸条，顿时傻了。我们竟然不会拼！无奈之下，纸条上怎么写我们就么写给它写下来。在这件事的从中我感受到了我的英语还缺乏应用，一个简单的“连词成句”给我就把我给难倒了，不过这会让我更加努力的学习英语。

在这次英语节中，我感受到了大家充分的热情和不来的经济头脑。部分收成不错，但还要继续磨练我们的英语水平。

Written in the first chapter of the book Pride and Prejudice is an extraordinary sentence of which even a person who has had only a brief look upon the book will not fail to receive a deep impression-It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. In terms of Sherlock Holmes, we’d better alter the sentence into “It is a fact universally accepted by readers throughout the world that an excellent book in possession of our famous detective Sherlock Holmes is undoubtedly a masterpiece of all times.” Perhaps this is one of the most obvious explanations for the unrivaled popularity of “Holmes series” in the field of detective stories. Overwhelmed by the recommendations provided by my friends, I decided to take a look on this Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son originally published by Oxford University Press.

As a whole, this book is about a case concerning the Duke’s missing son. Arthur, the Duke’s son, was found out in a certain morning to have disappeared, accompanied with which was also the disappearance of the German teacher. The school master Dr. Huxtable then turned to the famous detective of the time Sherlock Holmes for help. Realizing how tough and important the case is, Holmes immediately made up his mind to accept the case and followed Dr. Huxtable back to Mackleton by train. Having formed a rough idea about the whole matter, Holmes probed into the case immediately and had a careful investigation of the entire area shortly after the arrival, during the process of which he discovered the body of the German teacher Heidegger. Finally, primarily due to his prominent ability as a detective, he managed to unravel the mystery and obtained the twelve thousand pounds promised by the Duke.

Having once started reading this fiction, I was completely immersed in the mysterious story presented by the book. As the saying goes, “Well begun, half done”. At the beginning of the story, just like many other detective stories, the author gives us a brief description of the condition by the words of a client. However, unlike other ones, this story first delineates the client’s strange behavior at length to indicate the severity of the incident in order to attract the readers to continue reading it. As is known to all, vivid depiction is essential to detective stories since it can help the readers understand each figure’s characteristics and visualize the scenes, thus making the story more authentic and attractive. Therefore, trying to present a “real world” to his readership, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the original “Holmes series”, has skillfully arranged the plots of the whole story from the perspective of Dr. Watson, a character not so specialized in discovering the truth hidden behind the enigmatic happenings as Holmes but so loyal to Sherlock Homes as a friend that he always accompanies Holmes wherever he goes. In this way, he elaborately depicted every scene and character in the book, Apart from the special start, the ending of the whole story, being dramatic but reasonable, is certainly an outstanding one. After all, except the author himself, who knows that the Duke’s seemingly ordinary secretary is in fact the Duke’s bastard? In addition, who knows that the Duke actually has already been acquainted with the whole thing before Holmes solves this complicated problem? Yet, surprising as it is, this ending seems so natural that it fits all the plots of the story perfectly well. While enjoying this wonderful story, I could do nothing but admire the wonderful design of this masterpiece as well as the author’s gorgeous writing skill. Closing my eyes, I can even “see” the story happening just like watching a film. Not until then did I understand why the Japanese cartoon film Detective Conan used this “Conan” as the name of its hero.

As far as I am concerned, nothing is more admirable and surprising in the hero Sherlock Homes than his profound knowledge which has certainly assisted him a lot when he was studying the case. Take the bicycle tyres for instance, Holmes actually is capable of recognizing 42 different varieties of bicycle tyres. What’s more, according to his other stories, Holmes has studied different kinds of newspapers, cigarettes, people’s footprints and other special things as well. Therefore, he seems to have the mastery of anything relevant to the cases he deals with. Except for his illimitable knowledge, Holmes also specializes in arranging the facts in order and then finding the fact leading him to a great discovery or even the truth itself. From his speaking “Every mystery has an answer”, we can readily shape the impression of a man with great intelligence and inflexible will. In this case, after getting rid of unrelated facts, Sherlock Homes eventually grasped the clue and discovered the amazing fact.

Needless to say, as a world-renowned masterpiece, Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son has attracted and is still charming numerous readers from all corners of the world and people from all walks of life. The “Holmes series” has already set up a standard against which all the following detective fictions are measured. Sherlock Holmes, beyond all doubt, has become a name firmly rooted in people’s memories. Although Dr. Watson’s closing The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes in 1927 was a great pity to the readers, the discontinuance of the entire “Holmes series” may have actually added to the legendary stature of Sherlock Holmes.

读了这本书，我体会冉阿让的正直、芳丁那的母爱，珂塞特的不幸与万幸，德纳第的心狠手辣，沙威的冷酷和马洛斯保家卫国的精神。我明白了正直，善良，与冷酷，邪恶。

老人圣地亚哥是一位老渔民，老人与海就讲述了他在连续八十四天都没有捕到一条鱼的情况下，终于独自一人钓上了一条大马林鱼，但这条鱼庞大的像一座山丘，所以将老渔民圣地亚哥的小渔船整整拖了几天几夜叉筋疲力尽，被老人杀死绑在了小船的一头。老人返航的时候却遇到了鲨鱼，他应用的抵抗鲨鱼的攻击。可最后回到港湾的时候，大鱼只剩下鱼头、鱼尾和一条脊骨。

这篇小说描写了老人在中亚紫霞仍保持着优雅的风度。作者这样写突出了老人威严冷静的性格特点，就像我们小学五年级的一篇课文《桥》中的老支书一样。面对鲨鱼的攻击，老人并没有吓呆了，而是沉着的应对鲨鱼疯狂的攻击才保住了自己的性命。如果老人并没有沉着的应对鲨鱼的攻击，那老人将会一无所有（宝货老人的生命）这篇小说主要告诉我名字一个人应用有的最宝贵的精神—人可以被毁灭，却不可以被打败。圣地亚哥也因此而成为了文学史上最着名的“硬汉”之一

寒假，我读了高尔基的自传体小说《童年》，它给我的感触颇深。

它向我们艺术地展示了阿廖沙在黑暗社会追求光明的奋斗历程，还有十九世纪七十到八十年代的俄国社会风貌。3岁的时候，父亲病故，母亲就带阿廖沙回了娘家。可惜外公是个自私而又专横的小业主，但是资本主义俄国的发展打断了外公发财的好梦，从此破产以至于贫困潦倒。可怜的母亲改嫁之后，生病而死，十一岁的作者被外公残忍地赶出了家门，到社会上自谋生路……其实，阿廖沙的原型就是高尔基本人，高尔基借阿廖沙这个人物来描述自己的童年。高尔基用真实优美的文笔描述了自已苦难而令人难以置信童年。

我们现在丰衣足食，要什么有什么，又是父母的“掌上明珠”、“心肝宝贝”哪能和高尔基那悲惨的童年相提并论，年代的不同就是这差别，一个是天堂，一个是地狱；一个充满阳光，一个到处黑暗。我们现在的童年来之不易啊！童年充满着欢乐，童年到处是温暖，童年是值得回忆的相机，童年爱满心窝！而高尔基的童年除了一些教育和友谊，没有什么再值得回忆！

《平凡的世界》主要讲述的是农业生产合作社时农民的生活，这部小说的主人公是一对兄弟，孙少安和孙少平。孙少安是家里的老大，小学上完就辍学，回家帮忙干活，以供弟弟少平和妹妹上学，18岁就当上生产队大队长，生活又起起伏伏，少安娃的命运可算是最坎坷的。

孙少安的爱情可算是令人心酸。婚姻有事将就门当户对，所以说少安是农村人也应该娶一个农村人，可他偏偏爱上了村支书的女儿田润叶。刚开始时，两人两情相悦，少安也许下诺言，可现实却给他们当头一棒。润叶的叔叔田福军由于事业的关系，必须以润叶来与职场上的一位仁兄联姻。润叶少平起初都不愿意，可润叶叔叔与爸爸的恳求与威胁让少安动摇，是啊，他一个农村的娃娃怎么配得上县人民教师呢?觉得门当户不对的他，心灰意冷，从此躲开了润叶。但润叶却热情依旧，他坚信少安哥会娶她的。少安为了让润叶死心，不耽误她。便去陕西寻了个婆姨，过上了日子。但润叶经过很长时间才下定决心，搞政治婚姻，婚后甚至没有和那人上过一次床，因为他的心里放不下孙少安。这一切都终止于一次车祸，润叶的老公做司机干活时出了车祸，腿断了一肢。润叶才意识到，她该好好照顾这个被她遗忘的男人。最后少安和他的婆姨生活着，而润叶照顾着她那残疾的丈夫。
