The book was written by Emily Bronte, it published in 1847.But at that time, it seemed to hold little promise, selling very poorly and receiving only a few mixed reviews. I found this in our school library, I chose this book because the title attracted me. The book is structured around two parallel love stories, the first half of the novel centering on the love between Catherine and Heathcliff, while the less dramatic second half features the developing love between young Catherine and Hareton. In contrast to the first, the latter tale ends happily, restoring peace and order to Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange. In the story, the two houses, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, represent opposing worlds and values.

I spent twenty days reading this book. After reading this book, I felt for Heathcliff at first. Heathcliff begins his life as a homeless orphan on the streets of Liverpool, and then he tyrannized by Hindley Earnshaw. But he becomes a villain when he acquires power and returns to Wuthering Heights with money and the trappings of a gentleman. His malevolence proves so great and long—lasting. As he himself points out, his abuse of Isabella—his wife is purely sadistic, as he amuses himself by seeing how much abuse she can take and still come cringing back for more.

Catherine represents wild nature, in both her high, lively spirits and her occasional cruelty. She loves Heathcliff so intensely that she claims they are the same person. However, her actions are driven in part by her social ambitions, which initially are awakened during her first stay at the Lintons, and which eventually compel her to marry Edgar. Catherine is free—spirited, beautiful, spoiled, and often arrogant, she is given to fits of temper, and she is torn between her both of the men who love her. The location of her coffin symbolizes the conflict that tears apart her short life. She is buried in a corner of the Kirkyard. In contrast to Catherine, Isabella Linton—Catherine’s sister—in—law represents culture and civilization, both in her refinement and in her weakness. Ultimately, she ruins her life by falling in love with Heathcliff. He never returns her feelings and treats her as a meretool in his quest for revenge on the Linton family.

Just as Isabella Linton serves as Catherine’s foil, Edgar Linton serves as Heathcliff’s. Edgar grows into a tender, constant, but cowardly man. He is almost the ideal gentleman. However, this full assortment of gentlemanly characteristics, along with his civilized virtues, proves useless in Edgar’s clashes with his foil. He sees his wife obviously in love with another man but unable to do anything to rectify the situation. Heathcliff, who gains power over his wife, sister , and daughter.

The whole story make people’s mood heavy. Fortunately, the end is happy.

The author Emily Bronte lived an eccentric, closely guarded life. She was born in 1818, two years after Charlotte—the author of Jane Eyre and a year and a half before her sister Anne, who also became an author. Her father worked as a church rector, and her aunt, who raised the Bronte children after their mother died, was deeply religious. Emily Bronte did not take to her aunt’s Christian fervor, the character of Joseph, a caricature of an evangelical, may have been inspired by her aunt’s religiosity. The Brontes lived in Haworth, a Yorkshire village in the midst of the moors. I like this book because it rest on the unforgettable characters. Wuthering Heights is based partly on the Gothic tradition, a style of literature that featured supernatural encounters, crumbling ruins, moonless nights, and grotesque imagery, seeking to create effects of mystery and fear. I would like to recommend this book to other readers.

During this term I have read a novel The Red and the Black. The novel was written by the French writer Stendhal in the 19th century. Marie·Henri Beyle better known by his pen name Stendhal was one of the critical realism French writers in the 19th century . The Metamorphosis, written in 1912, is one of Kafka’s masterpieces. It talks about Gregor Samsa. One morning, when he woke up, he found himself transformed into a gigantic insect. 唐僧的优点是取经的意志很坚定，不管路上遇到多少困难，他都勇往直前，从不退缩。他靠这种精神影响着他的徒弟们，一起帮助他取得真经。但唐僧也有缺点，他不辨真假，容易轻信别人的话，结果总是上当受骗，如果没有孙悟空，他可能早被白骨精吃了。

孙悟空的特点是本事大，一路降妖全靠他，他很忠诚，又嫉恶如仇。但是他性子气，不服管教，经常闯祸，比如推倒人参果树，所以师傅给了戴了个紧箍咒。

猪八戒是个懒虫，又贪吃又贪睡，一遇到困难就想散伙，回高老庄娶媳妇。但猪八戒在取经的路上也少不了，唐僧和孙悟空闹矛盾，总是他把猴哥请回来。

沙和尚好像没什么本领，一路上就看他挑个担子，打仗时也只能打几个小妖。但沙和尚做事最认真，如果没有他，有谁能安全地把担子挑到西天呢?

正因为有了唐僧的坚定意志，孙悟空的本领高强，猪八戒的八面玲珑，沙和尚的认真负责，师徒们共同努力，才终于取得了真经。

读了这本书，我还明白了一个道理。每个人都有优点和缺点，我们大家共同去做一件事，只要能把大家的优点发挥出来，把缺点控制住，就能集大家的力量，把事情做好。

在《平凡的世界》中，路遥以史诗般的笔触，讲述了中国70-80年代社会在历史变迁的大背景下，黄土地上双水村普通人的悲欢离合故事。

孙少平为何选择离开砖窑。孙少平在孙少安开砖窑、实现生产责任制需要劳动力、家庭条件好转的情况下仍坚定的离开双水村前往黄原城做小工，我非常的不理解孙少平的选择，因为眼看着家庭的生活将会翻天覆地的变化，安安分分的待在双水村务农和孙少安一起烧转，日子也会过得不错，但他为了所谓的精神追求，把繁重的农活扔给父兄，自己到城里做工，而且也无一技之长，只能干最重的活，拿最少的钱，居无定所像乞丐一般，我觉得非常的不“划算”。但后面从孙少平的角度思考这个问题也有一定的可理解性，孙少平是一个受过教育的农门子弟，在高中时期虽然学校忙于搞“运动”，孙少平学到的东西非常有限，但他通过读课外书及田晓霞的影响，整个人的思维遨游在大千世界里，在双水村教书时期他也坚持着读书和田晓霞的联系，人虽在双水心却在外，他注定不会留在双水安心的做农民。但他又没能考上大学，也无技能，也没靠谱的城市亲戚，找不到体面的工作，只能去东大桥揽工，打短工。经过一段时间磋磨，从外表看孙少平和普通揽工人没什么不同，穿着破烂，皮肤黝黑但他同时又保持了一股读书人的气节，得罪舅舅提醒曹书记石头有血，对曹书记多给的钱坚决不要，下雨天不出工别人呼呼大睡他却坚持读书，还有到电影院看《王子复仇记》，这一切又使他区别于其他农民工。

作为一个“为官者”的态度。说实话田福军在工作上真的是一个很完美的人，有自己的信仰，也能实事求是的工作，更可贵的是身上没有一点“官架子”，经常到基层调研，我印象很深的一次调研是他还在原西做常委时到一个公社去调研，去的都是最偏远的地方，有些地方连公社干部都不清楚甚至都没去过，他一个人到这些地方去查看农民的实际生产生活情况，还有一次就是他初上任为黄原行政专员，看到老百姓挤公交艰难不已，亲自带着一群市领导体验坐公交以督促改善黄原的公交及城市面貌。田福军身上有一种真正的从骨子里散发出来的爱民情怀，我想这同他的出生是分不开的，他也是来自一个农民的家庭，也许天赋异禀，还有后天的努力，他读了大学而且还是中国人民大学，他的农村生活和他的大学生活造就了他完善的人格，我想若是孙少平或孙少安也读了大学估计也会像他一般吧。对穷苦大众的感同身受应该是每一个“为官者”都应该具备的品格吧。

做一个出色的“煤矿工人”。孙少平如愿的成为了煤炭工人，在他成为正式的煤炭工人前也有一点小插曲，也许是太过于重视这次机会，孙少平在体检时血压过高，虽然还能再复查一次但孙少平还是很紧张怕复查时再出问题，那他就当不成工人，改变不了他农民的身份，这种情况大多数人都会遇到，当遇到一个改变自己命运的机会时会不自觉的为自己设置障碍，本来不会出问题的小事就变成阻碍自己的拦路虎。孙少平找到了检查的医生，希望她能帮帮忙放他一马，医生告诉他不要紧张，若是真担心就喝醋降血压。最后孙少平血压降低，成了正式的煤炭工人。刚到煤矿时孙少平和同伙比起来是寒酸的，没有被褥，穿着破烂，而且是纯粹的农家子弟，其他人基本上是干部的子弟(因为中国的户籍制度随母)，他们看不上孙少平，但是孙少平靠着吃苦耐劳靠着劳动成为他们当中的“阔佬”，在劳动面前人人平等，人们靠着劳动赢得他人的尊重。

命运弄人，生活应该继续。田晓霞死了，在洪灾中为了救助更年轻的生命死了，她死亡后孙少平痛苦不堪，他的痛苦也让读者身同体会，也感到命运弄人，田晓霞如此完美无暇的女子居然红颜薄命，她的善良和正义，巾帼不让须眉，她和少平的爱情自然也无法圆满了，但她一直活在少平的心里，指引着少平前进。少平为缓解痛苦拼命的劳动，他的悍劲和勤劳让他在工人里很有威信，矿上升他为班长，他对待手下智慧又体贴，还解决了矿上秋收季节矿工出勤率低的问题，果然金子是会发亮的，一个勤劳又上进的人在哪里都能发出耀眼的光芒。他和惠英嫂同病相怜，都失去了爱人，他没事就去帮惠英嫂做家务，在嫂子家他感到温暖和踏实。孙少安也历经波折后东山再起，兰香和吴仲平的关系也被吴家所承认，一切都在朝着好的方面发展。田福军到省里后也很快的展示出他的才能，他没有在巨大的管理困难前退缩也没有在丧女之痛中消沉，他不断的解决着老百姓的切身问题，辛勤的处理着政务，他应是所有从政者的榜样，百姓有这样的父母官是幸运的。

我奋力的读完了这本长篇巨著，但不知是年龄大了还是对于感情没有那么多感受了，对于脉脉温情的故事我确实读不太来，反而对现实主义题材的书能读进去几分，特别是平凡的世界里对农村在“十三中”全会前后的思想、生活、文化、政治的相关描述让我相见恨晚，只想说自己为什么不早读，通过这些对农村认识更深，农村的确是广阔的天地，正如书中所说精人、能人多如星斗，感觉全书都很赞扬劳动，劳动能让一个平凡人获得尊严，通过劳动、坚持和奋斗能够改变命运。孙家从一个烂包的家到全公社甚至全县赞扬，真是30年河东，30年河西。里面也塑造了一些正面的领导干部当然也描述了一些领导干部的政治生活，得以让我等小民窥见一二。在我心中这是一部最好的现实主义小说没有之一。里面的有些道理还值得我去细细的品味，对于我们这些普通人、这些平凡人应该采用怎样的态度去过完自己的一生。正如书中所述“生活中真正的勇士向来默默无闻，喧哗不止的永远是自视高贵的一群”这是一种低调的人生态度，不求他人关注，不求他人认同，只求默默的朝着自己目标前进，犹如那朝圣的人一样在沙漠中朝着圣地行进。

Recently,I have just finished reading a famous novel written by Margaret mitchellGone with the Wind，which is one of the most popular works among American novels.It took the auther about 10 years to finish this great novel,the only novel in her life.

The story happened during the Civil War eve.Scarlett O"Hara,a 16-year-old girl,who was living in Tala manor in Georgia,was loving her neighbor Ashley Wilkes.However,after the war have broken out, Ashley Wilkes married his yonger cousin Melanie. Scarlett was so angry that she decided to marry a man she didn’t really love---- Charles Hamilton.Not long after that, Charles Hamilton joined the Army and died of illness in the war.So Scarlett had to act as a widow.Afterwards,at a donating dance party,Scarlett is acquainted with a captain named Rhett Butler. Then the flames of war approached Atlanta.Everyone was busy leaving away from the war.Scarlett managed to escape from Atlanta with the help of captain Rhett.Having come back to Tala manor,Scarlett made up her mind to rally her homeland at any cost when she saw that the former manor had been ruined.Later,her second husband died in the fight,she was a widow again.Durling that time, Rhett had been loving Scarlett sincerely and warmly.Seeing that Rhett could help her rally the manor,Scarlett married him.Although Rhett had similar characteristic attracting her,Scarlett still loved Ashley.Later,their only daughter died accidently,Rhett left Scarlett sorrowly.And then Scarlett realized that Rhett was the only one who could fall in love with her.

The novel takes the US Civil War as the background.It takes Scarlett’s individual activity as the thread.The book show us a tragic love story .A couple who could have a perfect future,but finnally go in opposite direction.As a matter of fact,their charactristics have decided their tragic result inevitably.We feel sorry about the end because we are looking forward to a perfect end,just like Scarlett and Rhett.In fact,ferfect is always a excessive damand.

I affirm Rhett.He brings excitement to Scarlett’s life and encourages her impulse to change and succeed.Like Scarlett,he goes after what he wants and refuses to take ‘no’ for an answer.He is humorous,intelligent and cynical with a hint of treason.He is really a respectable man.I think he finnally left because of love .Otherwise,he couldn’t have gone without hesitation.

Ashley Wilkes is the foil to Rhett’s dark, realistic opportunism.If there was no Civil War,he is surely a nobility of grace and charm.But history cannot be changed.He bocame a victim of the war.His era was gone with the defeat of the war.At the same time,we cannot deny the fact that he had a chear understanding about reality,which just contribute to his tragedy.

In this book,what I appreciate most is not Melanie’skindness or Rheet’s dedication and patience,but Scarlett’s courage to throw her long-standing morality and tradition whe faced with diffiiculties.At the beginning of the war,she didn’t care about this.In her world are endless dinner parties and dance parties.In her body are her father’s brave Irish blood and her mother’s noble French pure blood.She had a vast farm as her home.She had hundreds of slaves.This is Scarlett.,a member of noblity,proud and different.However,the war changed everything.Her mother died of illness.Her father become silent and the farm was nearly deserted.Even food became a big problem.All the pressure was put on Scarlett’s shoulder.She must feed a family of 9 people in it.What a big difference of level.If all this happened to someone else,he or she may choose to escape.On the contrary,Scarlett choose to face the change of life bravely.How can we not admire her courage of to change herself.Life is like a mountain.The road can’t be completely smooth.When we fall down from the peak,we may get hert ,we may get disappointed,we may feel despair.But if you want to survive,you must stand up to face it.

It is obvious that 《Gone with the wind》 is really a good book,even if a long time has passed away,it is still suitable for today’s society.It is of great importance to change ourselves,change our value even our thoughts when our life chages.

On the other hand,I think there is no real perfect in the world.Everybody has his shortcomings.It is necessary for us to learn to forgive others’ faults.If we keep good-tempered,Ibelieve there will be more comedy and less tragedy.

读完了《平凡的世界》，我的心久久无法平静，也许我所读的并不是一本书，而是人生。这本书最大的特点在于以“农二代”的视角打开了发生在黄土地上的社会画卷，在这一代人的更替中见证了社会的变迁以及思想的转型。放下这本书，我还是放不下少平少安两兄弟的奋斗拼搏人生。

少平是一个坚韧不拔、不向艰难和穷困低头的人，我从他身上嗅到了一种勇敢、坚强、刻苦的味道。他一顿只吃一个黑馍馍，加上生活家庭重担的压迫，导致他严重营养不良。而正是这样一个瘦弱的身体，却有着一颗不甘于为农民的执着的心。在学校，学生们上课的时候非常少，即使上也就是上一些政治课，少平便利用这段时间看一些中外名著，这打开了他的视野，也让他有了一颗向往另一个“世界”的心。而小霞的出现，引领了他按自己的心走下去。《参考消息》在那时是一本政治信徒所必备的，小霞则为少平提供了这重要的新闻报纸。两个人也在对国家大事思想的交流中产生了友谊，并渐渐互生情愫坠入爱河，虽然结局是可悲的，但过程是值得人细细回味的。随着社会的动荡与稳定，少平也确定了自立的人生，完成了从一名高中毕业生到煤矿工人的转化，让自己的心灵在平凡的世界中升华开花。

少安也许比少平活得更为艰苦，在家庭的重担、村大队的勾心斗角中前行并有声有色地活着，在当时充满矛盾与疯狂的时代是极其不易的。他有着商人的头脑和不甘于贫穷的内心，在观察到烧砖有赚钱的前景时，作为一个农民他果断地开始了生意经。但因为技术人员的失误，辛辛苦苦经营起来的砖窑毁于一旦，一时失败的打击、同村人的白眼都落到了这个不到三十岁的青年身上。然而，少安并没有放弃，又重新来过，这次付出终归得到了回报，日子红火起来的他成了乡亲们羡慕的“冒尖户”。心胸宽广的少安并没有计较村民们的白眼和背叛，他收留了村民并捐款建造了学校，贡献于社会，也报效了祖国。在一切都和和美美时，命运之神似乎有意玩弄这个善良积极的小伙，他的老婆秀莲患上了肺癌，这之后的人生也在平凡的世界中不断地默默书写着。

这对兄弟是这本书的灵魂人物，他们对劳动的尊重、对生命的拼搏、以及对人生不甘的诉说都深深地感染着我，给我精神的寄托。我想，即使时代在改变，从少平少安身上彰显出来的精神也是值得我们学习，并从灵魂深处敬仰的。

Huckleberry Finn was a great literary work published in 1885 and written by Mark Twain. One of the most positive things about the book would be that the reading level is not very advanced and that it shows us a glimpse of the past. Along with the reading level not being very advanced, the book itself is extremely well thought out, and brings the stories, characters, and imagery to life. One of the negatives is the amount of cursing that takes place throughout the book. This is a negative because it is at a children"s reading level and it does not add any literary value to the book as a piece of history. The ugly but I believe necessary part of the book is the use of the n-word. This is a necessary part of the book because it shows to our children and everyone the meaning behind the word. If anything it makes the reader more understanding of the troubles that the slaves when though and understand the meaning of the word a little more deeply.

This book was great, a masterpiece for the lack of words to describe how entirely wonderful it is. The book was a great classic, the only reason that I did read it is because we have to read a classic for school, however, now that I have read it I realize that it was a great book. I would read this book two or three times, and I do not like reading books again. The book was really able to portray the idea of childhood innocence and foolishness in the book, especially the end. I thought that this book was really an eye opener for people who may think that life is not worth living or maybe derpessed. Because, as you can see, Huck was a young boy who had an alcoholic father who beat him all the time, even kidnapped him after he was adopted by other people. Huck even decided to run away from his father, yet he is still a young, fun loving kid in the end, especially when Tom reveals to him how the whole trip was just a game. The only thing I have to say against the book is that it did seem a little racist with its words, however maybe this is just how they talked in that time period? Overall a great read that I highly reccomend.
