The book is a little difficult to read at first. Personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. Other than referring to persons of African decent in derogatory terms (which Im sure uses terms even young children already know)， the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.

For what he had done to Hassan, he had led a live with regret and suffered endless sleepless nights. His going back to Afghanistan is not only a journey physically but a journey to atonement. Hassan’s son, his nephew saved, Amir’s sin was finally washed. Like the life of circle, Amir ran kite for his miserable nephew.As Hassan did to him, he said “for you , a thousand times over” to Sohrab.Though the book doesn’t give us an accurate ending whether Sohrab came into life again. I am sure love can cure everything. Only when Sohrab lives a happy life as Hassan hoped can Amir’s sin washed up.

The friendship between Hassan and Amir moved me. I believe All the people who read it is going to be touched just as I am. This book does make me think the good and the bad ,what’s wrong and what’s right, the cruelty of war . Few books can exert an influence on people nowadays, this book sure does.

读了这本书，我体会冉阿让的正直、芳丁那的母爱，珂塞特的不幸与万幸，德纳第的心狠手辣，沙威的冷酷和马洛斯保家卫国的精神。我明白了正直，善良，与冷酷，邪恶。

Every girl can be a princess, even though she lives in a low attic, even though she is in shabby clothes, even though she is not beautiful, nevertheless, she can be a real princess at heart.

A Little Princess is a touching novel written by Frances Hodgson Burnett—a famous novelist and dramatist. It obviously contains lots of fancied plots, but the parts it talks about creating miracles, can really reach the bottom of my heart. The book can bring me into a world that is more than reality while reading it. The extraordinary story makes me ponder a lot and gives me a deep impression that every girl can be a princess.

In my opinion, it is impossible for every rich girl to act like a well-behaved princess, but Sara, the heroine of the novel, did it! She was an imaginative little girl who had such intelligent small face and such perfect manners. Sara was a very nice girl who had a gentle, appreciative ways of saying, such as “If you please” “Thank you” which was very charming. So, not only her teachers and classmates liked her, but also her servants liked her. There was a time when Sara became a poor and pitiful servant insulted by the snobbish headmaster of the school. In spite of this, she had never complained to anyone about the horrible suffering she had endured. Sara was confident, brave, optimistic and kind-hearted just like before and she had never given up her enthusiasm of life. No matter when, Sara acted like a princess, and on account of this, she had accomplished a GREat deal of miracles over and over again.

After reading this outstanding book, I was shocked by Sara, a little girl who suffered such unimaginable pain and tortures, but still had an opposite attitude towards life. What impresses me most is that Sara put on her act of being a princess when she wore thin bottom shoes, wading in the street of London. From my point of view, her spirit of being so strong-minded when she was in hard times is worth admiring.

Truly, every girl is a princess coming into common life. The “princess” I mean is not a princess living in the palace and being regarded as the apple of everyone’s eye. As the matter of fact, the “princess” is at heart. I am in the belief that every ordinary girl in the world can be a princess. The way for a girl to be a princess is quite simple. Just suppose! You can suppose yourself to be a princess, and go about your business confidently without caring how the others would treat you. If you want to have more resemblance to a princess, be more kind and try your best to help the people in need. The most important thing you are supposed to do is that to feel like a real princess at any occasion, particularly when you are involved with enormous melancholy. Do not feel the conditions you faced are extremely wretched and attempt to get rid of the feeling of hopelessness and uneasiness. The less you look like a princess, the more you need to feel like a princess at heart.

Every girl can be a princess if she can do all I mentioned, no matter she is rich, beautiful or not. To speak truthfully, I cannot do as well as Sara. However, I will exert myself on being a princess mentally.

Do not feel depressed any more, to be a well-thought-of princess like Sara. You can do it, because Every Girl Can Be A princess.

One of the most interesting questions about gullivers travels is whether the houyhnhnms represent an ideal of rationality or whether on the other hand they are the butt of swifts satire. in other words, in book iv,is swift poking fun at the talking horses or does he intend for us to take them seriously as the proper way to act? If we look closely at the way that the houyhnhnms act,we can see that in fact swift does not take them seriously:he uses them to show the dangers of pride.

First we have to see that swift does not even take gullver seriously. for instance,his name sounds much like gullible,which suggests that he will believe anything. also, when he first sees the yahoos and they throw excrement on him,he responds by doing the same in return until they run away.He says, “I must needs discover some more rational being,” even though as a human he is already the most rational being there is. This is why swift refers to erasmus darwins discovery of the origin of the species and the voyage of the beagle to show how gulliver knows that people are at the top of the food chain.But if lemule gulliver is satirized,so are the houyhnhnms,whose voices sound like the call of castrati.

They walk on two legs instead of four, and seem to be much like people.As gulliver says, “it was with the utmost astonishment that I witnessed these creatures playing the flute and dancing a vienese waltz.To my mind,they seemed like the greatest humans ever seen in court,even more dextrous than the lord edmund burke.”As this quote demonstrates,gulliver is terribly impressed,but his admiration for the houyhnhnms is short lived because they are so prideful.For instance,the leader of the houyhnhnms claims that he has read all the works of charles dickens,and that he can singlehandedly recite the names of all the kings and queens of england up to george ii.Swift subtly shows that this houyhnhnms pride is misplaced when,in the middle of the intellectual competition,he forgets the name of queen elizabeths husband.

Swifts satire of the houyhnhnms comes out in other ways as well.One of the most memorable scenes is when the dapple grey mare attempts to woo the horse that guenivre has brought with him to the island. first she acts flirtatiously,parading around the bewildered horse.But when this does not have the desired effect,she gets another idea: “as I watched in amazement from my perch in the top of a tree,the sorrel nag dashed off and returned with a yahoo on her back who was yet more monstrous than mr.Pope being fitted by a clothier.She dropped this creature before my nag as if offering up a sacrifice.My horse sniffed the creature and turned away.”

It might seem that we should take this scene seriously as a failed attempt at courtship,and that consequently we should see the grey mare as an unrequited lover.But it makes more sense if we see that swift is being satiric here:It is the female houyhnhnm who makes the move,which would not have happened in eighteenth century england. the houyhnhm is being prideful,and it is that pride that makes him unable to impress gullivers horse. gulliver imagines the horse saying,sblood,the notion of creating the bare backed beast with an animal who had held mr.Pope on her back makes me queezy.

A final indication that the houyhnmns are not meant to be taken seriously occurs when the leader of the houynhms visits lilliput,where he visits the french royal society.He goes into a room in which a scientist is trying to turn wine into water (itself a prideful act that refers to the marriage at gallilee).

The scientist has been working hard at the experiment for many years without success,when the houyhnmn arrives and immediately knows that to do: “the creature no sooner stepped through the doorway than he struck upon a plan. slurping up all the wine in sight, he quickly made water in a bucket that sat near the door.”

He has accomplished the scientists goal,but the scientist is not happy,for his livelihood has now been destroyed.Swifts clear implication is that even though the houyhnhmns are smart,they do not know how to use that knowledge for the benefit of society,only for their own prideful agrandizement.

Throughout gullivers travels,the houyhnhms are shown to be an ideal gone wrong.Though their intent might have been good,they dont know how to do what they want to do because they are filled with pride.They mislead gulliver and they even mislead themselves.The satire on them is particularly well explained by the new born houyhnhm who,having just been born, exclaims,“with this sort of entrance,what must I expect from the rest of my life!”

终于看完这一部作品了。

每一个老前辈的每一部经典，都是正儿八经地巨制——比如陈忠实前辈的《白鹿原》，草拟一年，成稿三年;又如这一本路遥前辈的《平凡的世界》，准备三年，写作三年。作品受得起岁月的洗刷，其中一个原因，就是——创作的基石已经经受过岁月的推敲打磨。平凡的世界。世界平凡。

这一点，笔者窃以为贯穿三部，而最为突出，是在第三部中。无论是孙少平在经历大风大浪后对外星人的臆想，还是兰香和吴仲平来以放松沉重学习的天体对话，都表达了世界平凡这一观点。

无论晓霞是否在抗洪当中离去，或者是孙少平的师傅是否在煤矿当中牺牲，地球都不会停止转动，哪怕一秒。宇宙之大，也绝不可能只有特别的水蓝星球拥有生命。我们歌颂自然，但自然，在外太空，可能就是平凡。

在时间这个大推磨下，政治的旗帜一直向导着岁月的前进。人民公社化阶段，往时显赫的金家落魄无比;改革开放阶段，农村企业家孙少安怀具社会责任感斥资建校。每个时代，都有一些特别耀眼的人。正如“统治了”双水村三分之一世纪的田福堂，又如新时代的双水村新领袖金俊武、孙少安。他们不止是田福堂、孙少安，他们只是长久岁月茫茫人海的一个缩影。无论对错，时代的必然与偶然而已。

田福堂的颓废，只是象征着旧时代的结束，而田福堂的看宽，不仅是因为年老、家人，也是旧时代对新时代的妥协。毕竟，人总要向前看。在这其中，笔者觉得有一个现象值得一提——便是神鬼论。

现在基本可以确定——笔者虽然生而长于新时代，但也对神鬼论抱有小但有的幻想，也不知是否受当代玄幻神鬼小说的影响——此间无神也无鬼。但是，凡世俗尘，又正如小说当中说的一样“即使进行几十年口号式的‘革命教育’也薄脆如纸，封建迷信的复辟是如此地轻而易举!”，就算是现在，财神庙、观音殿的香火也不曾有断过。其实无罢!平凡的世界，总需要非凡的人充当平凡的儿女们那饱受摧残但依然屹立的精神支柱!才好让平凡的儿女们在风风雨雨中砥砺前行!

平凡的世界，自然孕育平凡的人。上一辈的人有孙玉厚、田福堂……中一辈的有孙少安、孙少平、金波、田润叶……少一辈的又有兰香、金秀、虎子、燕子……为什么要把兰香、金秀列到下一代呢?其实，在思想、成就上，她们已经和孙少安、孙少平截然不同了。所以，请容忍幼稚的笔者这样划分吧!孙玉厚是一个特别典型的旧时代农民。公社化阶段的任劳任怨，改革开放对少安的宏图抱负的惯有担忧，母亲病重的求神问佛……这一切，将一个典型的旧时代农民很好地塑造了出来。

是农民的同时，孙玉厚更多的是一个父亲，上有老，下有小。他的担忧，无不因为他的家庭。但他的骨气，却犹存难散。为了少安的婚礼，为了少安的家庭，他的付出，是那么的决然果断。而当少安要迈出大步前进的时候，他也不免担忧，当少安破产，他也不失关怀。孙玉厚更多的，老一辈们到最后更多的，不止是抱负，更多的是担当，家庭上的担当，父辈的担当。

孙少安无疑是时代的先锋的代表。他在土地上任劳任怨，在村里打破成规勇敢先富。而他也是孝子，可以说，在这本书里大多的年轻人，都是孝子。可以知道，在那个年代，仅仅经历过基本教育的年轻人，心中的道德标杆，也是如此的鲜明正义!

这本书里面的女性，也是如此。追求爱情忠于现实的田润叶，个性鲜明有所担当的田晓霞，成熟乖巧聪明伶俐的兰香……她们都是新时代的女性，她们或有不同，但也正因为她们，世界才多了许多美丽。书中，很多女性角色，到最后都是以温柔收场。无论是嫁给游手好闲的老公的秀英，还是原本不爱李向前的田润叶，亦或者是落魄流离的郝红梅。这可能是前辈心中的以为，但也应该是女性的天性。女强人的刚强，不输男人。而女强人也有男人所不一定具有，藏在骨子里的温柔，这同样毋庸置疑。而这本书中，我最喜欢的，是孙少平。一个在大牙湾挖矿的年轻人。可能，在现在的观念，结婚的前提就要有车有房，里，孙少平确实不是一个被看好的人。即使在当时，他也是不被官僚人家看好的一代。但是作者，一直在歌颂孙少平。因为，他这个人。

他不俗气，明白人情世故，但也知道，为人要高于人情世故。他不虚浮，懂得耕种植栽，也还懂得，明身自立与砥砺前行。他不庸碌，知道学习奋进，也还具有，应有的社会责任抱负。或许他是平凡，但平凡的过去正因为他们的努力而被改写，我们的祖国才得以日渐伟大。

师傅不幸，晓霞去世。生活的风波一次又一次打倒他，但是他一次又一次爬起。他就像《钢铁是怎样炼成的》的那个男主角，从不言败。在矿洞当中，他也不像其他子弟一样，琢磨着如何动用家里关系调出去，并且拒绝了吴仲平的好意。他甚至，想要去进修，想要去为这一份事业献上自己的智慧!哪怕这一份事业，已经让他伤痕累累，已经给予他无法褪去的疤迹!可能，这也是因为我也差不多这个年纪，所以对孙少平的笃爱吧!或许当我再年长一点，我就会喜欢上孙少安，再老一点，就成了孙玉厚。这也是中国人的传统，中国人独特的传承。

或许吧。在这本书，尤其临近结尾，也凸显了作者的一种观念。那就是道。时代的流转，其实就是自然。是偶然，也是必然。在《东方华尔街》当中，有一句台词，我就很喜欢——到最后，让输的人重新制定规则。历史，似乎往往是这样的。画一个圈吧!没有预想当中的洋洒万言，可能这也是我和前辈们真正的差距……

每一个平凡的人都有一个不为人知的不平凡的世界，每一种平静的背后都有澎湃的激情。我们生活在辛福的年代，没有经历过太多困苦、挫折，而所谓的考试失败、感情失落等，与孙少安、孙少平的经历比起来是那么的微不足道。

《平凡的世界》被誉为“第一部全景式描写中国当代城乡生活的长篇小说”，主人公孙少平和孙少安在平凡的世界中不断超越自己，追求生活的意义，并以一段段催人泪下的苦难历程告诉人们：苦难是人生的垫脚石，它只会使我们更强大，只要我们相信自己!

《平凡的世界》是一本磨练我们的书，它让我认识到每天喊苦喊累的我们的生活并没有那么艰难，连孙少安和孙少平都能在那么艰难困苦的生活中坚强，努力让自己成为不平凡的人，即便在这条人生的路上又很多的曲折风波，但他们始终不曾放弃对生活的信念。不经历风雨，哪能见彩虹?孙少安的成功之路不是一帆风顺的，他遭受了那么多苦难和挫折，让人心痛。为了扩大社员的自留地，他被当作“走资本主义道路”的黑典型，因此遭到批判;为尝试承包责任制的改革，他有遭到了县委的严厉批评。命运似乎还嫌对他的惩罚不够，最为残酷的考验还在后面，在第一次扩大砖厂时，少安就像一只折断了翅膀的鸟一样在寒风中瑟瑟发抖，抱头痛哭。无论是在爱情还是事业上，孙少安都受到了许多考验，他一次次的失败，又一次次的重拾信心，他绝望过，惆怅过，但是从未放弃过，他相信，再苦再难的日子也总会过去的。

生活中不存在完美，而打动人的也正是这种不完美。

就像维纳斯因为断臂才显得更美，人们更是把这种美称为残缺的美。

因此我相信：平凡是最大的不凡。

From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd.Then he enter earth and found thousands of roses alike.The little prince discovers that his rose is not the only ,plenty of her kind are everywhere, but then he realizes that his rose is special because it is she that I have watered; because it is she that I have put under the glass globe; because it is she that I have sheltered behind the screen . Then he fall across the fox.She

What impresses me the most is the fox’s words.love is a strange stuff.Sometimes we see it but can’t grasp it.Yet, true love may be, to some extent, invisible in surface but may last permanent.Apart from love, others as well.Indeed,sometimes what we consider right turn out to be wrong,what we consider real proves fictitious,what we confused may just turn out to be the truth.The path In searching for truth may long and time-consuming,we should harbour conviction,b will and high hope.No matter what barriade in front of us,we ought to be couragous and face up to the challenge.

this semester i studied in novel " old man and sea " of hemingway , famous writer of u.s.a.. i admire the old fishermans will in the novel very much, he lets me understand that a person must have unremitting spirit, could succeed . what the novel is described is an old fisherman almost the sixty years old, when go to sea and fish alone once, have angled to a big fish, but can not draw. after tough fisherman and fish have socialized for a few days, just find this is a big malins fish which exceeds several times of ones own fishing boat, though know perfectly well that it is very difficult to win , does not give up yet. because big malin fish fishlike smell of wound attract odd herds of shark vie for the food again later, but the old man is still unwilling to give up like this, stress the tight encirclement finally , take the large fish back to fishing port , let other fishmen admire it endlessly.

Ive read this twice. The first time I rushed through it just to find out who was the "victim." Yeah. Wasnt really surprised about that. Im sure a few people are thinking it was a serious mistake to off our lamented victim, but honestly, I wasnt really enthused at having to slog through this book.

I understand that this is covering the adolescent years of young Mr. Potter, but the whole teenage angst thing came out of nowhere. There shouldve been some hints as far back as "Chamber" but instead, we have four years of pent-up hormones come flooding out of the page. It is overwhelming at times, a feeling made worse when you realize that there wasnt a big plot; if anything, this was written partially for contract, partially to continue the story （I, personally, could have lived without the whole Hagrid/Grawp subplot, not to mention 50% of Dolores Umbridge, who herself is part pun, part metaphor, yet neither part really does anything but make one groan）。

But one thing to be said, there is growing tension and suspense in the book, which is written and intended--if we remember for a moment and think （perhaps somewhat na-iv-ely）--for young adults and not those of us with seasoned palates. This is why the book deserves a high rating; to me--and to many individuals over the age of, say, 16--this isnt a great novel. But it is an excellent novel for the young adult crowd and anyone who wants a mystery/fantasy/pseudo-thriller with characters who are reaching the genesis of their development. We may not like the person Harry becomes or the browbeating attitude of Umbridge or Rons jealousy rearing its head at odd turns, but it is a realistic portrayal of adolescent confusion and angst, of the tendency for some individuals in todays society to repreinformation and punish anyone who tries to resist the "system."

Yes, this is a heavy-handed statement, but this book is a metaphor as much as it is a fantasy. Remember, the Harry Potter series is desgined as an arc, so we naturally have to have the stage set for the final two books in the saga.

Hardcore Potter fans will enjoy this. Anyone expecting a great epic, however, will be disappointed because of their misconceptions.
