The most important activity of this festival is the Dragon Boat races. It

symbolizes people‘s attempts to rescue Qu Yuan. In the current period， these

races also demonstrate the virtues of cooperation and teamwork.

Besides， the festival has also been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous

rice)。 Zong zi is made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and

wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves. People who mourned the death of Qu threw Zong

zi into the river to feed his ghost every year.

With the changes of the times， the memorial turns to be a time for

protection from evil and disease for the rest of year. People will hang healthy

herbs on the front door to clear the bad luck of the house. Although the

significance of the festival might be different with the past， it still gives

the observer an opportunity to glimpse a part of the rich Chinese cultural

heritage.

记得去年暑假的一天，我们一家去白水洋旅途中被堵车了，我们下车顺着大路往前走。一路上每间隔十米，就能看见一个路标“十里坡，请慢行”。路上熙熙囔囔的行人议论纷纷。听大人们说，前面发生车祸，是一部农用车拉着一车冬瓜因驾驶员疲劳驾驶，车速过快，冲下30米的悬崖下，车内共有3人当场死亡。我想，也许他们不曾想到后果会如此惨重，也许在他们生命的最后一瞬间，也在为自己的疏忽而悔恨，也许他们还幻想着能与亲人共享生活的快乐……但死神却无情将他们送到另一个世界。

上学期开学的第一天，我们学校有个十岁女孩报完名，在回家的路上被一辆大卡车当场撞死。有幼小的生命就在这一瞬间结束了，父母悲痛欲绝。

在我们生活中，还有疾速行驶的，有闯红绿灯的，有酒后驾车的……这些事故中，小到跌痛，大到身亡。这提醒我们每个人，必须时时刻刻注意安全!

那是一个风雪交加的夜晚，我走在一条小路上，电话那头传来你的声音：“冷吗，要不要送件衣服给你?”

我开玩笑说：“冷啊!冻死我了!两件棉袄可不够我取暖的呢!”说罢，便挂了电话，向目的地前进着。没走五分钟，只听一阵脚步声响起，我一回头，就看见那个熟悉的身影向我奔来——是你，你本就臃肿的身材因为一件件冬衣而显得更加笨拙，你跑着奔向我，再看你时，你的脸都冻得通红。你却脱下身上的棉袄，盖在了我的身上。此时的你，上身只剩一件毛衣。我望着你，说不出话来，你却又从身上撕下一个热敷贴，贴在我身上，用沙哑而微带鼻者的声音问道：“还冷吗?”语音未落，又一阵猛烈的咳嗽。我感到鼻头有些发酸，本想笑一笑来掩盖自己的哭，泪却已从脸颊划落。我想开口问你一声“你不冷吗?”刚一开口，千言万语化做一阵哽咽。我扑在你怀里哭，再抬头时，泪水已打湿你胸前的一大片。你却仿佛猜透了我的心思一般说：“我不冷，你穿吧!”

我的泪又一次从眼眶溢出。你就这样穿着单衣向家的方向走去，过了一会儿，手机里一条短信传来，是你发的。你说：“晚饭想吃什么?”想着你刚才离去的身影，我又一次泪如雨下，回复道：“你做的，就好!”

我有一个好朋友，他有着乌黑的头发，耳朵小小的，眼睛圆溜溜的，鼻子很灵敏，有一张能说会道的嘴巴，牙齿尖尖的，就像两排小锯齿。
