从周国平的角度看，人生有两大快乐，一是没有得到你心爱的东西，于是你可以去追求和创造;一是得到了你心爱的东西，于是你可以去品味和体验。这是用审美的眼光看人生，为得到而寻求、创造的过程以及得到后品味、体验的过程，都是同样幸福的事情。周国平的话强调人不应当从功利的角度去审视生活，而应从审美(非功利)的角度去打量人生，从而可以提出：创造(或者体验)的过程就是快乐、幸福;立足于创造，收获快乐人生;艺术的、审美的去看待人生也是快乐和充满激情的。

整体上把握材料，可以从浅层和深层角度来立意。

从浅层次看，肖伯纳和周国平因视角、心态的不同，带来了认识、观念的不同。由此，可提出：不同的心态、视角会产生不同的认识与结果。

从深层意义来说，肖伯纳与周国平的出发点是一样的。肖伯纳揭示出这两大悲剧，就是告诫人们，不要有太多的占有欲，不要只重视人生的结果。因为太重视结果，追求结果时，就会把过程视为一种苦役;另外，要是太看重结果，那么，即使实现了结果，也会因太关注结果而忽略了过程的快乐，陷入无聊、空虚。肖伯纳是从反面来说的。周国平则从正面来说，生活的快乐，人生的幸福，应更注重创造的过程，以审美的眼光关注过程，也就是说在追求、创造的过程中，要是摆脱了占有欲，至少可以使人免除许多琐屑的烦恼和渺小的痛苦，活得豁达些。因此可提出：幸福、快乐既可以体现在结果上，又可以体现在过程中，只是要注意的是，放在结果上，往往是只能收获短暂的快乐，而放在过程中，既能体会过程的快乐，也能体会到收获结果的快乐。也可由此得出，摆脱了占有欲，就能收获快乐;痴迷占有欲，就会陷入痛苦与无聊的泥淖之中。
