The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is called the "Ten thousand Ii Great Wall" in Chinese. In fact, it s more than 6 000 kilometres long. It winds its way from west to east, across deserts, over mountains, through valleys till at last it reaches the sea. It is one of the wonders of the world.

The Great Wall has a history of over twenty centuries. The first part of it was built during the Spring and Autumn Period. During the Warring States Period, more walls were put up to defend the borders of the different kingdoms. It was during the Qin Dynasty that the kingdom of Qin united the dif ferent parts into one empire. To keep the enemy out of his empire, Emperor Qin Shi Huang had all the walls joined up. Thus, the Great Wall came into being.

The Great Wall is wide enough at the top for five horses or ten men to walk side by side. Along the wall are watchtowers, where soldiers used to keep watch. Fires were lit on the the towers as a warning when the enemy came.

It was very difficult to build such a wall in the ancient days without any modern machines. All the work was done by hand. Thousands of men died and were buried under the wall they built. The Great Wall was made not only of stone and earth, but of the flesh and blood of millions of men.

Today the Great Wall has become a place of interest not only to the Chinese but to people from all over the world. Many of them have come to know the famous Chinese saying: "He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man."

My character is variable and weird. It is a change, and no one can understand my character (including my parents). If you are not careful with angry tone to contradict me, or foul language to insult me, scold me. Im sure that even a moment ago I was joking with you, but after a moment I will be furious to refute you, then go away in the fly into a rage, not you. But after an hour, I will take the initiative to go and you may, at the time of the bowl, I will put what happened an hour ago like eraser typos as erased and forgotten. If you ask me, Ill say, "cut it!" Trifle, never mind."

Hee! Is my character unpredictable? Its not hard, as long as you know everything about me and get along with me. Its as easy to catch my character as you eat, and find me a close - up girl.

I am . I was born in . I graduate from senior high school and major in Englh. I started learning Englh since I was 12 years old. My parents have a lot of American friends. That’s why I have no problem communicating with Americans or others by speaking Englh.

In my spare time, I like to do anything relating to Englh such as ltening to Englh songs, watching Englh movies or TV programs, or even attending the activities held by some Englh clubs or institutes. I used to go abroad for a short- term Englh study. During that time, I learned a lot of daily life Englh and saw a lot of different things.

I think language  very interesting. I could express one substance by using different sounds. So I wh I could study and read more Englh literatures and enlarge my knowledge.

Today isnh birthday.My ther andgrand bought a big cake for .When i got ho,i saw a cake on the table. There were nine candles on it and there was a present next to the cake.I askedther what the present was .My ther toldto open it.Oh!there was a note under the scarf.It said :"the weather is getting cold,please wear this scarf ." "thanks and grand.i love you very ch!" I was so happy today.
