提起湖北，莲藕肯定算得上是最丰富的物产之一。印象中，老家的莲藕我们俗称为两种，一种是木藕，颜色偏红，生吃起来比较苦涩，但适合于炖汤；另外一种是叫玉藕，它颜色白嫩，生吃起来甜美，最头的那一节生吃起来更是最为甜美，非常适合于炒着吃。莲藕在湖北的做法很多，清炒，炖排骨汤，做成酸藕荚，也有在莲藕中夹肉油炸。莲藕可以做成藕丝，藕片，藕荚，藕粉。

在湖北，只要是有池塘的地方，基本上都有莲藕。因为它繁殖快速，不出二三年，基本上就可以长满池塘。很小的时候，我家在家门口的水稻田中种了一些。快过年的时候，我们把莲藕挖了出来，作为过年用的菜。

关于莲藕最有意思的记忆，是小学的暑假，与伙伴们一起去池塘里挖莲藕，这需要很多的技巧，也让我们积累很多的经验。那时，每天都可以在池塘中挖出十几公斤的莲藕。我们自己吃不完，还可以拿去街上卖。莲藕也是我们小时候吃得最多的食物。那时，一起挖莲藕的小伙伴中有，高波，高幺，国华，法林。如今，我们这些人基本上是春节时才能见上一面。堂弟法林，现在河南成家生子，我们基本上是十年没有见面了。

珠游溪的水虽然不及大海那样波澜壮阔，也不及西湖那样水平如镜，但是珠游溪的水朴素中带着几分秀丽，这样的水，我从没见过。珠游溪的水真静啊，静得像一面镜子，倒映出了天空中飞翔的鸟儿、慢悠悠在天上飘着的白云和岸边翠绿的杨柳，共同构成了一副安静，安详的画面。珠游溪的水真绿啊，河水的碧绿和岸边的嫩绿结合在一起，让人看着十分舒服。近看，珠游溪像一块巨大的翡翠;远看，珠游溪就像一条碧绿的玉带。这让我不禁想到了一句诗“江作青罗带，山如碧玉簪。”珠游溪的水真清啊，清得可以轻易看见江底的小鱼小虾。

等到夏日的繁星在夜空中闪烁的时候，珠游溪就变得热闹了，孩子草坪上嬉戏，老人在旁边打太极。还有很多人在岸边散步，或在亭子里静坐片刻，夏夜的凉风吹拂过脸庞使人感到心旷神怡。耳边，一阵阵愉快的笑声传来，回荡在江面上久久没有散去。
