From economic, political, geographical, and historical points of view, the heart and nerve centre of Szechwan is in the eastern basin area, commonly known as the Sichuan, or Red, Basin. Its mild and humid climate, fertile soil, and abundant mineral and forestry resources make it one of the most prosperous and economically self-sufficient regions of China. The area has been seen by some as China in a microcosm and is often viewed as a country within a country. The Chinese call the basin Tien Fu Chih Kuo, which literally means “Heaven on Earth”.

Last weekend, I was very happy. Last Saturday morning, I got up at seven o’clock. Because I must go to piano class and English class. It was so interesting. In the afternoon, father mother and I went to my grandparents’home.

We had lunch together. Grandma cooked well. The food was tasty. I was so happy. Last Sunday morning, I did my homework. It was so easy. Afternoon, I cleaned the bathroom and swept the floor. Many visitors come here to enjoy it.

我的家乡在乌审旗河南乡。这里山美、景美、物产更美。每逢节假日，我都要跟着我的爸爸、妈妈，回自己的家乡，看望亲人，欣赏家乡的美景，最让我难忘的是家乡特有的水果——西瓜。

站在远处，你会看到一片又一片绿油油的瓜园，瓜园里数都数不清的又大又圆的西瓜，就像一颗颗星星，在阳光下闪闪发亮。走近瓜园，看到一个又一个将要落蒂的大西瓜，你会马上胃口大开。选一个大个的西瓜用刀一切，啊！嘣！的一声，鲜红的瓜瓤上装扮着黑色的瓜籽，真让人馋涎欲滴。轻轻的咬一口，一股清凉的甘露沁人心脾，让你一口就想把它吃完，吃的肚子鼓鼓的，还是不想离开。
