I used to think Beijing must be a grand and special city, given that it was the capital of China, and lots of events I have heard took place there. But soon after I got off the plane, I knew all was but my illusion. If I had to use one wordto describe it, nothing but “grey” will fulfil the task. 真正的旅行是要在当地呆上几个月甚至几年的。不要怪我挑剔，一定要一个人去，最忌讳便是情侣牵着手同去，沉浸在两人世界的时候是无法睁大双眼体验的（所以说，有爱人的城市便是世界上最美的城市。）去超市买食物，自己与当地人交涉房租等，体察民情。

当然旅行不仅仅是了解当地人生活方式这样简单，更重要的是了解当地文化。在当地工作，交友，娱乐，从而了解到这一民族的特点与性格。在经历外国文化的同时，用自己的判断来决定传言是否正确，德国人都严谨，美国人都随便，法国人都浪漫，是否是真的？总听那些大门不出二门不迈的人说起英美教育来头头是道，亲自为坐井观天现身说法，白白笑大别人的嘴。只有真的经历了，才懂得传言不可信，才懂得不要说起自己没有了解的话题。

体验、接受、融入当地文化的同时，自己会思考，与中国文化对比，有什么不同，为什么。同时，也学会进一步欣赏中国文化。这个思考的过程，就是成熟的过程。这才叫真正的旅行。所以旅行绝对是令人受益匪浅的，丰富阅历，提高个人修养，一切都是为了气质问题。

The benefit of volunteering

As we all know, volunteering has a meaningful and positive impact on the community you serve and the people you help. In the meanwhile, it can have many benefits for you, too. In my opinion, there are two reasons to

volunteer: feel good about yourself while helping others; build your portfolio.

On one hand, volunteering makes you feel good about yourself on a purely selfish level. There are few things more satisfying than helping people. Hammering nails on a new home while the owner beams with pride right next to you is an amazing feeling. Walking or running to raise funds for a cause close to your heart helps to give you a sense of purpose and helps you realize just how lucky you are. As a volunteer, you will gain new perspective, for it’s so easy for us all to get a little too wrapped up in our own lives. On the other hand, from a professional standpoint, volunteering is a great way to add to your portfolio. From press releases to design pieces, from public speaking to fundraising,

you will have the opportunity to build your portfolio. This is especially beneficial for students or young professionals, although all of us should continually work on building our portfolios.

The Spring Festival

The Spring Festival，Chinese New Year，is the most important festival for all of us。 All family members get together on New YearEve to have a big meal。At the same time，everyone celebrates to each other。At about 12 oclock，some parents and children light crackers。The whole sky is lighted brightly。 We may watch the fireworks excitedly。How busy it is！

A new year ，a new start，when I stand on the edge of a new year，I cant help thinking about my plan of next year。

But ，what I really decide to do is that I must make good of anytime I can spare though it seems impossible。 While，I will do my best to live up with what I have planned，and the result will prove it。

It was already late when we set out for the next town, fifteen miles away on the other side of the hills. It got dark soon; we drove fast along the narrow winding road that led to the hills. Wecouldntidentify any sign of the town marked on the map. Suddenly the car stopped. We had run out of petrol. 放暑假了，班里组织了一次研学活动。早晨，我早早地就起来了。来到集合的地方，和同学们一起坐车前往泉城济南进行研学。

经过两个多小时的飞奔，我们到达了此次研学的第一站：山东师范大学。下车后，我们就在老师的带领下走进了这所园丁的摇篮。山师依山而建，路边粗壮高大的法桐高擎着树冠，连成了一片浓荫。即使是在这炎炎夏日里，走在路上也觉得清爽无比。

我们先来到了学校的操场。操场边的跑道上，有些大学生正跑步锻炼，像离弦的飞箭。操场中间的绿茵场上，有些大学生正在踢足球，激战正酣。他们一个个生龙活虎，身姿矫健，挥洒着青春的激情。

美丽的大学校园，绿树成荫，环境幽雅，确实是个读书学习的好地方。浓浓的书香，浸润每一个年轻学子的心灵，让他们飞得更高，走得更远。

就餐的时间到了，在山师餐厅，我们补充了能量。下午，又按计划进行了下一项：参观山东省博物馆。

远远望去，我就感觉这个博物馆好大呀！作为省级博物馆，这里是全省文物及自然标本的收藏中心。因为藏品丰富，这里每天都会吸引众多的游客来参观。

在博物馆，我们参观了了古代文物展和野生动物展。在古代文物展展厅，我看到了原始人的头颅、骨架以及他们的生活用具。这些简陋的工具便利了他们的生活，当然也是他们了不起的创造。那一件件穿越时空仍似乎鲜活灵动的器皿，那一枚枚记录了古代人如何贸易的铜钱，那一个个再现古代人生活场景的栩栩如生的泥塑，让人惊叹不已。

走进野生动物展展厅时，我眼前一亮，一下子就被展厅里那一个个逼真的动物模型吸引了。仔细观察，你会发现，那儿有的动物正抬头吃着树上的嫩叶，有的动物正在低头喝水，有的动物正小心翼翼地趟过湍急的河流。

然后我们走进了石洞迷宫。这石洞里面黑漆漆的。顺着箭头指引的方向，我们看到了一些放在玻璃柜里的地下动物模型，其中有蛇、獾和鼹鼠等等。原来，地下还是这么多动物的栖息地呀。

本次研学结束的时间快到了，我们走出博物馆，踏上返程。

通过研学，开阔了视野，丰富了阅历，学到了以前不知道的许多知识，这真是一次充实而快乐的研学之旅。

Making a trip to Beidaihe on May 18 was an experience which I will never

forget.

A arrived in Beidaihe at about 2 oclock,and immediately took a No.5 bus to

the sea area.The beautiful blue sea was so large that I couldnt see the other

side of it.After getting off the bus,I went straight to the shore.Taking off my

shoes,I put my feet into the water.The water was cool,and walking in the water

was such a great joy that I didnt want to stop.Then I collected shells.When it

got dark,I sat on the shore,watching the sea.The night scene was simply

marvelous!

Finally I had to go back.It was an unforgettable day in my life.
