You can travel by hovercraft if you dont mind the noise and that takes forty minutes. Otherwise, you can go by boat, if you remember sea-sickness pills. All these means of transport have their problems, and the weary traveler often dreams of being able to drive to France in his own car. Not possible, you say. Well, wait a minute people are once again considering the idea of a Channel tunnel or bridge. This time , the great London Council is looking into the possibility of building a channel link straight to London. A bridge would cost far more a tunnel, but you would be able to go by rail or by car on a bridge, whereas a tunnel would provide a rail link only.

Why is this idea being discussed again? Is Britain realizing the need for links with Europe as a result of joining EEC? Well, perhaps. The main reason , though, is that a tunnel or bridge would reach the twenty square kilometers of Londons discussed stimulate trade and revitalise the port, and would ,make London a main trading center in Europe. With a link over the channel, you could buy your fish and chips in England and be able to eat them in France while they are still warm!

We use computers to cope with files and photos etc. And the internet is just a large database and we can get on the internet to search for anything we need through the computers. We can keep in touch with the others with the emails, msn and QQ etc. Enjoying ourselves in music, games and movies can loosen us after nervous classes.

Each coin has two sides. Disadvantages of the computers can also do harm to us. Most of us students use the computers more to play games and chat with strangers than searching for useful information. That’s a waste of time. There is so much rubbish on the net, which are some medium messages about crime or sex. It does harm to our minds.

From all above, we should learn to use computers in our own right ways. The computers doesn’t have no responsibility, it depends on the way we use them.

After An Examination

After I got the news that I had passed PETS level 3 ,I were really happy at that moment .But when I knew the exact result,I didn’t have any successful or wonderful feelings,instend of that,I think the result was very strange.I couldn’t believe that.although my mark was high,everyone who joined the examination all got very good marks.Most of the students in my class could reach the average of 60.so I can’t be pleased with my reault,and it is not enough for me.Recently,I have mixed feeling.It even drives me crazy.I have though a lot about how to improve my English .I am so eager for improving.When I am in school ,I am just ok.. But when I out of that small world, I am nothing. There are so mang students in front of me.So that’s the exact reason why I am unhappy when my classmates congratulate me upon my”excellent”job.I indeed want further education,I can’t be satisfied with being an ordinary English teacher.There is long way waiting for me to go on,so I can’t stop my feet just for this little success.After I pass these days,I grow up a lot.It is very valuable for me to have such experience.
