In the U.S., mother’s day is a holiday celebrated on the second sunday in May. It is a day when children honor their mothers with cards, gifts, and flowers. It was first observed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1907. Long before that, there were days honoring mothers even in ancient Greece. In those days, however, it was Rhea, the mother of the gods who was given honor.

Later, in the 1600s, in England there was an annual observance called "Mothering Sunday". It was celebrated during June, on the fourth sunday. According to a recent survey of the National Bureau of Statistics, there are more than 1.3 billion people in our country, which account for about 1/5 of all the people in the world. the same survey also predicts that our population will grow quickly in the years to come.

Sichuan is located in the Upper Yangtze Valley in the southwestern part of the country. 我姓冯，名俊博，人长得偏高，胖胖的，戴着一副小眼镜，说不上好看。外表最大的特点，就是戴着这副小眼镜了，仔细一看，还有不少圈呢。别人一见我，就开玩笑说：“小眼镜，看了多少本书呀？”每当这时，我就挤眉弄眼地回答：“无法用数字表达。”

我的爱好是看书、吃东西、玩手机、踢足球；我不喜欢写字、打篮球和睡觉。

我的缺点是玩手机，因为玩起就没完没了。在家里妈妈不让我玩手机，我就去姥姥家玩个够。一旦拿到了手机，我就打开游戏，那感觉就像饥饿的人扑向了面包似的。玩起手机，我就只觉得余香满口，细细品味，真是品味无穷。

还有个缺点就是话多，一天说个没完，说十筐有九筐都是废话。

但我可不是满身缺点的孩子哟，还有优点呢。比如：作业我都能认真完成。无论我怎么喜欢玩手机，但每次玩时，都先要把作业写完。还有不挑食，不论什么食物，是青菜，还是大鱼大肉，我从来不挑剔，吃起来都津津有味。

我还有一个缺点就是马虎。考试常因为马虎而不能得到高分。唉，一次英语考试，我把“v”写成了“a”，就是因为这儿，被减了两分，在班里的排名从第四名下降到了第七名。一看试卷，我不由地哀叹了一声，深深地自责，真想扇自己一个嘴巴，暗暗地对自己说：“你为什么这么马虎啊？不长记性？”可是事情一过，我又忘了，几天后马虎的毛病又犯了。这真是“江山易改，本性难移”。
