The Spring Festival, the most jubilant and important festival in China, is

observed by most Chinese people at home and abroad. Our hometown is not an

exception.

Similar with other places in china, we prepare for the festival about half

a month before. With the lunar New Year approaching, the red lanterns are hung

up along the main streets, making the ancient town filled with the festival

atmosphere. While people clean up their houses, decorate it with traditional

The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually

in February or March in the Gregorian calendar. As early as the Western Han

Dynasty (206 BC-AD 25), it had become a festival with great significance.

This days important activity is watching lanterns. Throughout the Han

Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), Buddhism flourished in China. One emperor heard that

Buddhist monks would watch sarira, or remains from the cremation of Buddhas

body, and light lanterns to worship Buddha on the 15th day of the 1st lunar

month, so he ordered to light lanterns in the imperial palace and temples to

show respect to Buddha on this day. Later, the Buddhist rite developed into a

grand festival among common people and its influence expanded from the Central

Plains to the whole of China.

Till today, the lantern festival is still held each year around the

country. Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are hung in the streets,

attracting countless visitors. Children will hold self-made or bought lanterns

to stroll with on the streets, extremely excited. "Guessing lantern riddles"is

an essential part of the Festival.

Lantern owners write riddles on a piece of paper and post them on the

lanterns. If visitors have solutions to the riddles, they can pull the paper out

and go to the lantern owners to check their answer. If they are right, they will

get a little gift. The activity emerged during peoples enjoyment of lanterns in

the Song Dynasty (960-1279). As riddle guessing is interesting and full of

wisdom, it has become popular among all social strata.

People will eat yuanxiao, or rice dumplings, on this day, so it is also

called the "Yuanxiao Festival."Yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. It is

small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean

paste, jujube paste, walnut meat, dried fruit, sugar and edible oil as filling.

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s

more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning

reunion. So people eat them to denote union, harmony and happiness for the

family.

In the daytime of the Festival, performances such as a dragon lantern

dance, a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance, walking on stilts and

beating drums while dancing will be staged. On the night, except for magnificent

lanterns, fireworks form a beautiful scene. Most families spare some fireworks

from the Spring Festival and let them off in the Lantern Festival. Some local

governments will even organize a fireworks party. On the night when the first

full moon enters the New Year, people become really intoxicated by the imposing

fireworks and bright moon in the sky.

北京的春节热闹非凡，我们福建莆田的春节也毫不示弱。我们从腊月初十起，就开始了过年的准备。

腊月初十至腊月二十之间，莆田人会选一个晴朗的“双日”进行扫巡。扫巡就是大扫除，家家户户把屋里的重物品清洗后拿到院子里暴晒，后面再进行屋内的扫巡。

腊月二十四，祭灶公。也就是送灶公上天，灶公升天后，就会向玉皇大帝禀报这户人家在这一年里行善还是行恶，再进行惩罚或祝福。所以，大家在祭拜的时候总要放上各式各样的糖果，让灶公的嘴甜一点。

腊月二十六日起，家家户户都在门口做豆腐，白白嫩嫩的豆腐做好了，就可以喝豆浆、炸东西了。接下来，到了我最爱的环节——炸吃的。我们在这一天总是要炸很多东西的，如：炸豆腐、海蛎饼、炸红薯等。海蛎饼里面包的东西最丰盛了，里面包了肉、白萝卜丝、海蛎等食物只要把海蛎饼做好，再往滚烫的油里炸，海蛎饼就做好了。在看着大人做的同时，我也忍不住流口水了。

腊月二十九日，俗称“小除”。家家都放鞭炮，贴春联，在这辞旧迎新的一天真令人高兴。在晚上是，你还可以更随大队伍去点灯，走进庙里，四处都有鞭炮的响声。还听到了许多不一样的音乐，那是什么呢？看，那就是我们点灯的灯，安装了电池，自然就会唱歌了。

大年三十。这个除夕夜，一年才只有一次。白天，家家挂起了红灯笼，架起了红彩旗，每家每户都显得纳闷 喜气红火。晚上，让人直流口水的是那一桌的美食。莆田人吃年 夜 饭也是有讲究的，除夕夜必须要有这些菜才算圆满：虾（莆田话念：和，寓意一家人和和睦睦）；蟹（必须选十只脚齐全的，寓意十全十美）；有一些有条件的人家会在家里厨房的鱼缸里养几条鱼，寓意年年有余。还没吃完年 夜 饭，就看见了窗外的天空绣出了一朵朵美丽的花，小孩们都跑到马路边去玩烟花，家长们也掏出了钱包给老人和小孩压岁钱，寓意新的一年红红火火。

正月初一，小孩跟随着父母回母亲的娘家，与外婆外公一起吃团圆饭。

正月初六到正月十五期间是我们莆田人闹元宵的时间，我们都会到庙里上香，晚上在家里吃汤圆，一家人其乐融融，开开心心的聚在一起。

春节里，我觉得最快乐的是是除夕夜放烟火。

在除夕夜的前一天早上，我和爸爸来到招商场那里卖烟花的地方，买了一大堆烟花，我们吹着欢快地乐曲满载而归了!这天夜里，我兴奋得几乎睡不着觉，心里盼望着：除夕夜快点到来!

vital emotions.

因为参加钢琴比赛是在上海的原因，况且距离苏州也是比的较近，所以就顺便去苏州著名的周庄去玩了一趟。

在比完赛的第二天，我们便来到了周庄。放眼朝里面望去就可以看到小桥流水人家的画面，真像是进入了山水人家!中间有个澄澈无比的小湖，一直顺延到周庄的深处，在湖的中央有一座古桥，两旁的楼房呢，也都是仿古的。随便进一栋楼房，都可以发现，里面所有的物品也都是仿古的，整个周庄都是古色古香。我仿佛一下就穿越了时空，进入了古代。

在苏州，春节一大早开门要放三爆竹，叫做“高升三级”。清晨出门，都要遵循黄历上所指定的方向，，这又叫做“喜神方”。并且还要去皇城、土地等庙去烧香，必历经十庙乃至，这面又称为“烧十庙香”。从春节一直到元宵，火炉中烧巨煤，这称作“欢喜团”。

准安人传说，吃汤团可以接财神，所以从大年初一清晨的时候就要开始下汤团，直至元宵节，天天都有汤团吃。妇女们春节的时候剪松柏枝，绕以红丝，戴在发上，据说还可以长寿呢!

这可真是有趣，一般在我们宜昌可都是见不到的。那次有机会呀，可一定在过春节的时期，再去苏州逛逛，玩玩!

春节怎么过?妈妈说现在时兴旅游过春节。听上去真不错，我赶忙问妈妈去哪旅游，妈妈却对我说是“塘湾三日游”，我马上明白了，原来是去外婆家呀!

因为外婆家小年夜要过年，所以全家提早驾驶着汽车，以迅雷不及掩耳之势开往外婆家。(也没超速啦。)

很快就到了外婆家，我刚打开车门想下车，他们便笑着迎了过来，于是我就忙着跑过去跟他们打招呼。正在这时，忽然听到外婆的声音：“妹妹，来的正好，今天过年，来磕个头吧。”于是我便奔了过去，连磕了三个头之后，外婆又问我：“今年考得怎样?”我就迫不急待地从衣兜拿出金灿灿的金牌递给外婆看，外婆看了看，就从衣兜里拿出了准备好的一个大红包递给我，并叮嘱我要继续努力，大家都向我投来赞许的目光，我暗想：来年我要考得更好!不知不觉，一天就这样过去了。

除夕夜的晚上，我们吃完年夜饭。哥哥拿出了他的“宝贝”。“哇!是鞭炮耶!”我情不自禁地欢呼起来。桌子上摆满了鞭炮，有大的，有小的，有长的，有短的，有胖的，有瘦的，数也数不清。哥哥拿出了一根棍子，走近一看，原来是一根鞭炮，再仔细一瞧，是叫飞毛腿的鞭炮，哥哥把它放在地上搁好，又拿来打火机点燃后，马上撤离，可是过一会，一点动静也没有，我想是不是哑炮呀?正打算过去看呢，这时“砰”的一声，吓得我心都蹦出来了……

大年初一的早晨，我被阵阵鞭炮声吵醒了，墙上的挂钟在“滴答滴答”的走着，屋外传来“踢踏踢踏”地脚步声，树上的鸟儿“叽叽喳喳”，棚里的鸡喔喔地叫个不停，邻居家的黄狗汪汪叫，圈里的山羊咩咩叫，热闹极了，突然听到哥哥叫我：“走，咱们去田野里玩吧!”我听后一溜烟地就跑下床。吃完早饭，一缕阳光从东方升起，哥哥在前面带头，我则在后面跟着。田埂非常地窄小，只容得下一个人走，踩上去软软地，湿湿地。田的这边成片的桃树上结满了花苞，哥哥说一棵树上要结200多个花苞，一个花苞一个桃，那这成片的桃树要结多少个桃子呀，算也算不过来!那边是个菜地，看上去绿绿的，长满了青菜，卷心菜，白菜，草头，大蒜，好多呀。我们从这条田埂走到那条田埂，走着走着，我一不小心被石头绊了一跤，我本能的爬了起来，发现裤子上弄脏了，我就随手拍了几下，继续前进，哥哥还在前面跑，我还在后面跟着跑，跑着跑着，跑累了，回家了。

夜幕降临了，我依依不舍地离开了外婆家。

“噼噼叭叭……”，阵阵清脆的鞭炮声迎来了大年初一，我和爸爸，妈妈一起去给亲戚们拜年。

“砰砰砰……”，我们敲响了大姨家的门。门开了，大姨抱着妹妹笑吟吟地迎了出来。“大姨，妹妹，新年好！”我一进门就向大姨祝贺新年。大家互相问候着新年，大姨忙着给我们泡茶水，拿出了很多好吃的，最重要的是给了我一个二百块钱的红包呢！这时，我发现伯伯没有在家，我便问“大姨，伯伯呢”“唉，他呀，整天就知道忙工作，家里什么都不管。这不，大年初一都到单位值班去了。”她假装生气地说。可我才不相信她真的生气了呢，她脸上还带着微笑呢。

告别了大姨和妹妹，我们又踏上了去老家的火车。我外公外婆还有另一个大姨家在娄底，所以我们要向娄底进发了！坐了两个半小时的火车，终于到了娄底火车站。我外公家就是火车站旁边，我三步并作两步往外公家跑去。一进门，外公就迎上来了。“外公，恭喜发财，红包拿来！”外公笑得合不拢嘴，连忙给了我一个红包，我打开一看，嗨，又有二百元！呵呵，我今年可是收入可观呀！

在外公家吃了中饭，我们又来到了大姨家，哥哥早就等在楼下了，正在放鞭炮呢！看见哥哥是我最开心的事了，因为他总是能想出很多好玩的鬼点子。他迫不及待地拉着我一起到他家玩起赛车游戏，好刺激啊！

时间过得真快，转眼就到了快天黑的时候。大姨的厨艺在我们家族中可是最好的了，所以肯定要留下来品尝她为我们准备的丰盛晚餐啦！面对着一桌子香喷喷的饭菜，我们一大家子围坐在桌边，每个人脸上都洋溢着幸福的笑容，我真的感到了“生活比蜜甜”的滋味呢！

过年真好，我不禁开始盼望明年的新年了！
