我的家乡，一个拥有一千多个岛屿的美丽地方，是游人争相参观，旅游的地方。但谁又知道这美丽的背后，剩下的是什么。

我爷爷住在一个小山沟里。那真是名符其实的小山沟。像我妈妈说的:那个地方像是一个勺子。三面是山，而另一面是一条刚好能过一辆车子的入村的必经之路。这还是今年刚拓宽的。要是在往年，我们只能步行进入。而整个村子就在勺子的内部。在爷爷家门口有条水塘，由于污染潺潺的溪水变成了沉静的死水，这就更加衬托出那里落后和贫瘠。记得小时候，有一次不慎落水，在这河上漂啊漂，不知喝了多少水，但抬头，还是一脸的笑容。如今再看这一池水，一股异样的心情涌上心头。

今年回到老家，我睡在爷爷家的破屋子里。虽然已不是第一次，但心情却是有点别样。听着外面的雨声，屋顶的漏水声，滴到脸盆的声音，我辗转难眠。用手摸摸那凹凸不平的墙面，不时会有石灰掉落，眼泪静静的划过黑夜。贫穷，我第一次感到它离我如此进，如此可怕，无情。

（二）

在我还在我妈肚子里的时候，我奶奶就过世了。因为路远我很少回去，加上我不习惯那边的菜，听不懂那里的话，对家乡的感情并不是太深。但我知道，我是家里最小的孩子，爷爷是最疼我的，我总给我慈祥的感觉。在我心中，故乡是淳朴的，热情的，不管认不认识，都会相视而笑，打个招呼，大白天家从不关门，热情的接待每一位访客。这是我在大城市里所看不见的，好羡慕这种感觉。我爷爷年青的时候当过兵打过仗，我奶奶去世后，孤孤单单的过了十几年。虽然儿女们还算孝顺，但那份寂寞是无人能懂。随着儿女成家立业，无数次想让爷爷搬到省城住，但爷爷总不愿意，即使去了，住不太久，又回来了。爷爷总是说“还是自己家里最好”。他在房后养了头猪，种了些菜，供自己吃。儿女们哪里会放心呢，可谁都扭不过爷爷。也许爷爷是想在这里思念奶奶，回忆他们的点点滴滴；也许爷爷认为奶奶的灵魂还会回到这里，不想让她孤独。虽然他们没有长命百岁，没有在八九十岁时携手相伴，但他们是幸福的，就是像水晶般透明纯净，我坚信他们得到了永远的幸福。

（三）

晚年的我爷爷身体不好，一直躺在床上。在我们回去的时候，他已不能动了，静静的躺在床上，只有眼睛，还表示他依然在思想。当看见我们来了，他激动得激动让我们感动，我们是他久违的孩子。那一刻他哭了，那是我第一次看到他的泪水，他透过他的眼神告诉我们他想我们了，这是一个老人的思念。那时我真的压抑不住内心的感觉，但我知道我不能哭。我走到爷爷面前甜甜地喊了声：“爷爷好。”我不知道那时的他还听不听的懂普通话。但透过他的眼神我知道他听懂了，他在笑。

我静静的走出房间，只想找个地方好好哭一场，不仅为爷爷，还为这个偏僻的村子，在这个村子里，所有的孩子都很用功，他们都希望有一天考上大学，带着梦想走出这里。而很多人都做到了，他们带着自己的家人走出了贫穷。而爷爷把最大的希望寄托在了最小的孩子，也就是我爸爸的身上。我爸爸没有让他失望，他参了军，提了干，带着同样是干部的妈妈回了家。听爸爸讲这在当时那是多么自豪的事，当我爸妈穿着军装走进村子的时候，多少人羡慕不已，直夸爷爷福气好，而爷爷总是憨憨的笑着，比吃了蜜还甜。

今天虽然是星期六，但爸爸妈妈都去上班了，留下我和妹妹还有奶奶，大家都觉得在家里有点呆不住，快闷死了。于是，我们决定到楼下去转一转，呼吸一下新鲜空气。

来到了楼下的草坪，只见那些草长得矮矮的，绿绿的，旁边有一朵朵漂亮的小花，还有一棵高大的树木，树木的枝干长长的，粗粗的，叶子密不透风，可以遮太阳、挡风雨，就像一顶撑开的绿绒的大伞。

忽然，我发现了一大群黑黑的蚂蚁，它们个子小小的，我想这应该是工蚁吧。仔细观察，你会发现它们的头上长着触角，身体有三节，有三对足。突然我发现两只黑蚂蚁碰了一碰触角，好像是在打招呼。这时，一只大很多的黑蚂蚁从草丛里钻出来，我一眼就看见它了，还给他它取一个挺有意思的名字——“黑骑士”。

我从口袋里拿出一块饼干，轻轻放在地上，蚂蚁发现了，它们左抬抬又抬抬，饼干还是纹丝不动。这时，我发现“黑骑士”不见了，找来找去还是没找到。不一会儿，一大群一大群的蚂蚁冲到饼干旁边，轻而易举的就把饼干抬了起来。

突然，我想到了一个坏点子，把旁边注满了水，好把它们的气息给冲掉，看他们怎么回家！

天色渐渐暗了，蚂蚁们还在团团转，我也管不了那么多，就回家了。

第二天早上，我下楼，发现饼干不见了，蚂蚁也不知去哪了。我四处看看，发现了一个小沙丘，就用细长的树枝把那个小山丘给扒开了，里面正是我的饼干，看来蚂蚁也会使用妙嘛！

忽然，一大群蚂蚁冲了出来，它们一个个横冲直撞的。我破坏了它们的家园，它们来报仇啦！此地不宜久留，快逃呀！

True friends always come to you when their help is in need.They try their best to help you without thinking what they can get from it. This invariably wins them love and respect from otbers, for they devote themselves to the happiness of others.

Up to the time of my writing this article, Aero has been helping me with my selecting the courses with great effort. He is a friendly and zealous guy. I think he has been liked by others since long ago because of his characteristics. He is always brisk,enthusiastic, energetic and he is smiling no matter when or where you see him. However, I like him for some other reason.It seems that between us there is a special way to communicate and its not the usual way through which we communicate such as words and gestures. He has always been a friend of mine be cause I like the way he acts and lives and the way we communicate.

One morning a week ago, he came to me and asked if he could be of help. Actually I had been worrying about my course of this semester for days since I hadnt got any English courses yet! Still I was totally caught off guard by Aeros offer though he had always been kind. I thought it was my own business and it had never occurred to me that some other individual would offer to help with my selecting the courses. So I declined his kindness.  The very next day, I got a cough and it later turned out to be a four-day high fever. In those days, I was extremely weak and lay in bed all day long and hardly had any strength even to eat. I lost the power to keep an eye on the possible vacancies of the English courses ever since I got a high fever. I began to regret declining Aeros offer. Just at that moment, Aero called,asking about my health and told me to have a good rest, saying that he would shoulder the responsibility of selecting my English courses for me. Now I am writing this article as the homework of this writing course and Id like to re emphasize that it is all due to my friends effort that I have finally made it.

I was really grateful to him when he called and offered to help and it is hard to express my gratitude with words.  All I want to say about it is that at that moment, I realized that he had offered to help not because it made him feel he was important but because he meant business. Hes a man of integrity. I am proud of having such a friend.

I joined in the sports meeting, too. In the long jump, I won the second prize. But unluckily, I was the last one in the high jump.

Though the sports meeting has been over, Ill always remember the spirit of Faster, Higher and Stronger .

The kookaburras, also known as the "laughing jackass", is a special bird in Australia. Its voice is hoarse, so it is often used as background voice in movies or TV programmes when people want to show the sound of jungle. The kookaburras is about 46 centimetres and weighs about 500 grams. It is the largest in size among all species of kingfishers. It mainly perches in Eastern Australia, but now it is successfully introduced into Western Australia. Unlike other species of kingfishers, it does not eat fish, but feeds on mice, little birds, snakes and insects. While in the west, it also takes chickens and ducks as food.
