我的爷爷离休已经十几年了，离休前，他一直从事教育工作．爷爷身材魁梧，脸上总挂着慈祥宽厚的笑容，那副眼镜使他看上去更像一位大学教授。我们都非常尊敬他。

“倘能生存，我仍需要学习。”鲁迅的这句话是爷爷的座右铭。爷爷常常对我说：“活到老，就要学到老，社会在进步，不学习就会落后。”爷爷是这样说的，也是这样做的。每天一吃过早饭，他就给自己上英语课了。听录音、查字典、读课文、背单词，他乐此不疲。现在，他的英语水平已相当不错了。他还订阅了许多报刊，阅读后还报好的文章剪下来，分门别类地做摘记。看着爷爷剪贴的一本本厚厚的剪报资料，敬佩之情便油然而生。

去年，爷爷不小心摔折了腿，卧床整整三个月，但他以顽强的意志和毅力，克服了疼痛和麻木，仍坚持学习。在他的病床上放满了各种书籍，除了平时常看的教育、英语等书籍外，还多了几本医学方面的书，说是能配合医生治疗。在病床上，爷爷还写了一篇《老来怕跌，务请小学》的文章，发表在《宁波老年报》上。

爷爷还十分关心我的学习，成长。为了能让我更好地学习英语，他会别出心裁地自编通俗的英语短文让我翻译或记忆，当我有不理解的问题时，他总是不厌其烦地进行讲解。平时，我有一个爱好，喜欢下跳棋，三局五局也不过瘾。爸爸妈妈被我缠得厌烦时，爷爷总是爽快地说：“翔翔，爷爷和你下！”和这位老棋手对弈，使的棋艺也大有长进。

这就是我的爷爷，一个慈祥好学的老人。我爱我的爷爷。

He didn’t take part in 2008 Beijing Olympics because of the condition of his wound(伤势).But he got the gold medal in 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. He hopes to to be the winner at 110-metre hurdle in 2012 London Olympic Games.
