Last year, I went to Guilin for travel. On the train, I felt so bored. A

girl who sat next to me was reading a book, which caught my attention. I asked

her about the book, I found that I had read it before and then we discussed

about the novel. We talked happily, when the train arrived, we got off together.

When we got aparted, we promised to keep in touch. We communicated by the

computer. Now a year has passed, we become good friends and I miss her all the

time. She is a genuine friend. I plan to go to Guilin again and then we will

meet.

May 12th, 2008. That’s the most mournful day for our Chinese that will

never be forgotten, because a horrible earthquake happened in Wenchuan, which

caused tens of thousands of children’s death.

On hearing the news, I felt so sorrowful. “Why was the god so cruel to

them?” I asked. They were still at the entrance of the life. They seemed like

little eagles that were willing to open their wings and hover in the sky. Maybe

they would have their brilliant future. What a great loss to our nation! I had

my deepest sympathy on the people in the disastrous area. So I donated some

money and clothes to them. And I also prayed for the dead people sincerely. I

eagerly hope that there would be no earthquakes in the future, so that we could

live a more peaceful life.

It is known to all that Guangxi province is famous for its various culture,

because there are many minorities. Recent years, the local government carry out

a policy of taking a break on March 3rd, which makes it the special day for

Guangxi Province. People can enjoy some shows which are full of local features,

such as singing local songs, having dragon-lion dance and so on. This policy not

only lets people take relax from routine work, but also makes people remember

their culture. I am part of the local people and I am so proud of the variety.

The different culture makes our country full of charm.

Life is full of all kinds of choices, and there was an important and

memorable choice in my life.

When I was graduated from my junior high school,I had to make a choice to

be a through-train student or be a senior high school. I was very aware of my

strengths and weakness. I loved learning history and geography,even interested

always enjoyed them while I was studying. So through painful choices,I chose to

be a senior high school student.

ChengDu is a wonderful place located in Sichuan province.This city is well

decorated and designed which attrects lots of tourists every year.

,with the rapidly developing economy,Chengdu has become an international

As the technology and economic is developing, the environment problem is

becoming a severe problem, and the people are seriously affected.

The sustained damage to the environment has caused a serious problem, such

as air pollution, sand storm, extraordinary weather, and diseases etc., people

suffer from what they have done to the environment.

However. People have realized that it will be too late if they don’t do

anything to prevent things from getting worse. For example, there is an “Earth

Hour” on a Saturday of March of each year. It is a global movement, usually it

lasts from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. It is also called “Light-off for One Hour”. During

The Huang Mountain is a place of interest. here are lots of tourists seeing sights every day. Years ago, some of them paid no attention to environment protection. They threw about waste paper, plastic bags and tins. Besides, they killed animals, caught birds, destroyed trees and flowers. Worse still,

they often made a fire to cook in the forest. That was dangerous. Changes have taken place now. When tourists leave, they take away rubbish with them. They no longer hunt animals. Plants are also protected. All the tourists carry their lunch in order not to start forest fire. We must sing high praise of the good deeds.

boats to celebrate this festival.Also,people eat zongzi (the food originally

intended to feed the fishes) in memory of Qus dramatic death.

我还看过一本新编的《十万个为什么》，里面说：“自古以来，古人们都会节约用木头，即使他们去砍树来烧饭做菜也会利用树木，他们只是砍掉一棵树的顶端部，使树木不会断绝生机，让它们还会继续生长，这样就不会毁坏大自然。可是到20世纪90年代初，全球本来100﹪的树木却一瞬间用去了25﹪的树木，那个时候还剩75﹪的树木。从那起，人们就开始疯狂砍伐树木，弄得树木越来越少。美国和英国每天砍伐树木约80亩，这样一来没过多久，全球的树木要全被砍光了！”

水龙头里的水孤独的流着，用水人却不知去向；电风扇、电灯在教室里开着，里面却空无一人；笔记本只用几页，就被丢弃在垃圾桶里。你是否想过，如果资源都浪费了，人类会面临怎样的生态灾难。我们要明白，大地不是人类所能控制的，而人类的繁殖是需要大地的，我们也是大地的一部分。

让我们行动起来，使漫画中的悲剧不再重演，为明天的美好，一起珍惜资源，公营生命绿色。

认真读了《珍惜资源，崇尚节约》后，我明白了资源并不是取之不尽，用之不竭的，

假如今天我们仍像过去那样浪费，资源总有一天就会被我们用光。

我从书上了解到目前我国的各种能源呈现出日渐减少的趋势。例如，2005年时，我国的标准煤年生产总量为20.6亿吨，年消费总量为22.2亿吨(20.6-22.2=-1.6亿吨)。从这个数字可以明显看出，能源消费的数量远远超过了能源生产的数量，仅一年标准煤就短缺1.6亿吨。如果年年都这样下去，将出现多么严重的局面啊!再看看以下资源的情况：我国当前森林资源总量不足，森林覆盖率只有18.21%，相当于世界森林覆盖率的61.52%;铁矿石产量不足，影响了钢铁的生产，因此，我国每年还要进口相当数量的铁矿石和优质钢材，否则其他的工业生产就因钢材不足受到了影响。看来，根据目前我国经济飞速发展的需要，木材、铁矿石等原材料始终处于供不应求的状态，

可是眼下，许多人还没有节俭生活的好习惯。刚买的衣服鞋子，没有穿几天，觉得过时了就弃之不用;喝了一半的饮料、吃剩的面包，随手就扔掉了。筷子、茶杯，酒瓶盒、月饼盒、茶叶盒等一次性消费行为在生活中比比皆是;“长流水、长明灯”现象可谓司空见惯。再联想到自己，不也是这样吗?看到水龙头漏水，一滴一滴地往下流，竟视而不见，没有走过去扭紧水龙头;眼看见电灯在白天亮着，也不把它当一回事，不会跑去按一下开关，把它熄灭……想到这里，我一阵惭愧。假如人人都像自己那样浪费水电，那不久的将来人类赖以生存的水资源就会枯竭。因此，我暗暗下决心：节约资源，从我做起。我还要告诉同学们，节约不是大人的专利，节约的习惯应当从小养成，只有这样，我们才能拥有美好的明天啊!

China,like many other countries in the world,adapts written or oral

examination as the only way to measure a student’s school work.It seems that the

aim of school education is to achieve the temeness of students for society

rather than to cultivate the unique minds for the individuals.But we must

know,the school should to teaching the methods of learning,but not many

formulas.

Besides,most of school in china always think studying more important than

other activities,which is a wrong view.Obviously,active participation in school

activities can better our health as well as our study.Students need not only

work hard on their studies,but also often join the school various activities.The

most important is school should to make proper arrangements of physical

recreation and intellectual activities to enrich the school life,improve the

student’s comprehensive quality.

In recent years, college studentsfind it increasingly difficult toget a

job. It sounds strange since young college students are usually intelligent,

well-educated phenomenon, aspirant and eager to bring their talent into full

play. Then what underlies the strange phenomenon?

There are several reasons for this.To begin with, nowadays college students

aim too high. All they want are “good” jobs which could offer good salary,

comfortable working conditions, high social status among others. Consequently,

most college students are unwilling to accept vacant jobs they consider

not“good” enough. Another reason is thatthere is a big gap between the majors

some students study in school and the demands of vacant jobs. So companies think

some students are not fit for the jobs.

Solution to the problem requiresefforts on both the society and the

students. The companies should value the students, talent and knowledge while

the latter should not merely aim at material gains. They should be down-to–earth

in building up their career. Furthermore, they should face their weak points so

as to improve themselves and be more competent.

地球资源正在面临枯竭的危险。自从人类文明的足迹踏遍了整个地球，人类就醉心于所谓科学的奢求，贪婪而又无休止地向大自然索取矿物资源、生物资源、水资源等，而人类对自然世界的索取程度，已达到了地球无法依靠自身再生能力来满足的地步。令人更担忧的是，人们大谈特谈的是科学进步、社会进步、文明进步，却忽略了自然资源在不断地退步啊。随着人类开发地球资源的不断升级，越来越多的物种从地球上加快消失，全世界每年都有约1000个物种在消亡。根据联合国公布的地球健康调查报告，人类已耗尽地球六成自然资源。随着物种的消亡，资源的枯竭，不堪重负的地球将一步一步走向灭亡。

善待地球——从节约资源开始。全社会都在通过各种各样的途径和手段来节约资源。我爸爸妈妈带我到工厂进行过调查。我到了胶合板厂，亲眼目睹了工人是怎样制作胶合板的。我惊奇地发现，这种胶合板的“内脏”并不是什么罕见的稀世珍宝，而是木糠和一些废弃的木材边角料，工人们以出神入化的工艺，配上精致的图案，就做成了各种各样令人爱不释手的家具配件。那儿的老总说：“我们上游的工厂，使用的是好料，他们生产过程中产生的木糠、刨花、边角料，就送到我们这儿来，我们运用新工艺把它生产成胶合板。”这是通过延长产业链来节约资源。我来到水泥厂，那儿的老总向我介绍说：“水泥厂其实就是吃垃圾的厂——你看，我们建设这个厂，吃了周边工厂所有的煤渣。”这是自然资源的综合利用。我又到了一个木材加工厂进行调查，这儿的老总对我说：“我们每年都会‘吃掉’很多木头，但是，我们‘吃掉’多少，我们就补种多少。毁树容易，种树难啊!”是的，与其在资源枯竭之后再大费周折地采取补救措施，不如在使用时多加小心，那就不用费心地收拾烂摊子了——节约资源就是善待地球。

珍惜资源，崇尚节约就是在创造财富。孩提时代，我们就能背诵“谁知盘中餐，粒粒皆辛苦”。节约的意识在我们很年幼的时候就根植心中，但是，现在我们的家庭条件好了，富足了，却不懂得珍惜，也忘记了节约了。一张好好的白纸，只写了几个字就扔掉了，有的只用了一面，另一面还是空白的就仍掉了;不然就无聊地在纸上乱写乱画。通过调查，我了解到：学校里80%以上的学生都不注意节约用纸。以一个人一天浪费一张纸来计算，一年下来就浪费了0。05棵树，全世界一年就浪费了将近3亿棵树，而生产一吨纸要伐掉17棵碗口粗的大树，同时耗水270-400吨;回收一吨废纸可生产0。8吨再生纸，相当于节省4立方米的木材。因此，节约一张纸，就是在保护一片森林，也是在节约水资源。

Since the first day of my winter vacation, I’ve decided to make it a

valuable and enjoyable one. I made a plan to finish my homework within the first

week, and after days of hard working, I actually got all my assignments done a

day earlier. I am pretty proud of myself for not —as usual —hang out with my

friends until the last few days of my vacation and rush through my homework.

In the rest of my winter vacation, I made up my mind to improve my reading

skills. I’ve had tons of books that I simply bought and put them on my shelf,

wishing some day they would be finished themselves. But this time, I realized I

was not trying my best last term and decided to make some change. I finished a

couple of novels and watched some classic movies, I also went to a library to

borrow some new books for next term. The more I read the more enthusiastic I

became, and now I’ve developed my reading skills a lot.

Another event in my winter vacation is that I went to hiking with my

parents. It was a warm, sunny day, which is pretty precious during winter time.

I can still remember the scene when we drove

Most smokers are males, because they need to smoke for social communication

or for set themselves free from the pressure. In the packaging, we can find that

every packaging has written the words that smoking is harmful to health. Though

smokers know it, they ignore it. For the harmony of the family, people should

quit smoking.

To quit smoking is not easy, people know smoking does harm to their health,

but they just can’t resist the temptation and then start to smoke again, so they

must have strong will. They must tell themselves that smoking not only does harm

to their health, but also does harm to their families. The families will have

much chance to take in the second-hand cigarette, in order to keep the families

healthy, smokers must have the strong will to quit smoke.

When people find it hard not to smoke, their mouth will feel uneasy, they

want to smoke again. At that time, people can find some food or fake cigarette

to take place of the real cigarette, in the long time, they will have less

desire to smoke.

Christmas Day is on December 25th, though it originated in the western

country, now it is popular around the world. In China, people will spend that

day happily, they will eat apples on Christmas Eve, the children will put the

socks so that they could get the presents from Santa Claus. When I went to

college, I had an unforgettable memory about my first Christmas Day.

As my major is English, I have many foreign teachers, so that I could have

access to the local culture from them. Christmas Day is a big day for them, when

the day came, they asked us to spend the day with them, because most of them

left home and did not have families around. My classmates and I went to the

foreign teacher’s home at that day, we brought some presents, when we arrived at

his house, we found a beautiful tree with shinning lights. My teachers taught us

how to cook all the cookies, we were having such great fun. I made the cookies

with many favors. We talked happily and sung Christmas songs.

I learned how the foreign people spend their big day, it was such

unforgettable for me.
