Halloween

Halloween is an autumn holiday that Americans celebrate every year. It means "holy evening," and it comes every October 31, the evening before All Saints Day. However, it is not really a church holiday, it is a holiday for children mainly.

Every autumn, when the vegetables are ready to eat, children pick large orange pumpkins. Then they cut faces in the pumpkins and put a burning candle inside. It looks as if there were a person looking out of the pumpkin! These lights are called jack-o-lanterns, which means "Jack of the lantern".

The children also put on strange masks and frightening costumes every Halloween. Some children paint their faces to look like monsters. Then they carry boxes or bags from house to house. Today is Qingming Festival. Its a traditional Chinese Tomb Sweeping Festival. Dad drives grandma, mom, my brother and I to Xianyou home together. My hometown is on a big mountain near Xianyou County town. After 1 hours of winding roads, we finally arrived at the destination -- my familiar hometown in dreams.

As soon as we got off the train, we could smell a fresh country smell, surrounded by green hills, and the whole countryside was so peaceful. We walked a few minutes to see an old house covered with mud, a place where Grandpa, grandma and Dad had lived before, and only Granny and grandfather lived there. progress gradually. My favorite place here is library. I can read many books

memories to study here, which makes me so happy. No matter which school I am in,

had exaggerated the problem, it is true that China has faced many pollution

problems. The haze in Beijing is famous around the world, which is the

punishment for human to ruin the environment. It needs time to fix the problem,

清明节的重点当属祭祀了，走着不常走的崎岖山路，欣赏着不常见的乡野风光，一路上倾听春风的歌声，我们来到了一座座长辈的坟茔前点上香和蜡烛，倒上三杯陈年老酒，摆好精心挑选的祭祀品，再在坟前全心全意地拜一拜，保佑自己平平安安，万事如意。

不过，现在人们防火意识越来越高，烧冥币、放鞭炮等习俗逐渐被敬献鲜花等文明的祭祀方式所取代。虽然上了年纪的奶奶还是十二万分的不高兴，但也拗不过我们的集体劝说。我呢，总是亲手采摘一些野花，扎成一束，恭敬地放在坟前，看到这个，奶奶也笑了!

about the haze weather, which causes lots of bad effects on our health and life.

We breathe polluted air, making us suffer from lung and liver diseases. Besides,

because of it, the flights have to be canceled. All kind of transports may run

into each other, resulting in much damages and lots of injuries.

As far as I am concerned, it is high time that we did something. As

individuals, we should ride the underground or buses instead of cars to reduce

carbon dioxide. As government, more measures should be taken by carrying out the

related law on pollution.
