舞春牛更为有趣。“春牛”是用竹片巧妙编织而成，牛头、牛角糊上绵纸，画上牛眼，牛身是一块黑布或灰布。舞牛人敲锣打鼓在村中表演，钻进布底的两人，一人在前撑牛头，一人在后弯腰拱背甩尾巴，后面跟着的是一个手拿犁架的汉子。此外，还有敲锣打鼓的，领唱春牛歌的，他们走到哪里，哪里就有歌声笑声。舞罢上村又到下村，从初一闹到元宵节。舞春牛的人们为农家带来了节日的欢乐，同时，也寄托着对农家丰收、祥和的祝愿。

打扁担过新年

“正月舂堂闭轰轰，今年到处禾黍丰。”这是广西马山、都安、上林、忻城等地壮家流传的一首古谚。唐代刘询在其《岭表录异》中曾生动地记载了舂堂的舞韵：“春堂者，以深木刻而槽，一槽两边，约排了柠，男女立以舂稻梁，敲磕槽舷，皆有遍拍，槽声若鼓，闻于数里，虽思妇之巧弄秋砧，不能比其浏亮也。”今天，代替舂竹的是农家的扁担，木板代替了大木槽，古老的舂堂以打扁担的娱乐形式焕发了生机。

从每年的除夕到正月十五，轻快悦耳的“登登打、登登打、登登打嘟打”的打扁担声，响遍了壮族山乡。打扁担是传统的自娱自乐活动，每一个壮家人都是打着堂的演员，妇女的动作轻巧优美，男子的动作刚劲有力，自娱自乐的“打着堂”，寄托着壮族人民祈望丰收的愿望。

打扁担的舞蹈形式有双人舞、四人穿花、多人穿花等各种套式。舞者多为双数。表演者手拿扁担，围在长凳或舂米槽旁，有节奏地时而敲打板凳，时而互相撞击扁担。扁担在手中运用自如，或正面、或反面、或侧面敲打，发出的声音或脆、或沉，声声相异，形成节奏明快、起伏有致的韵律。在扁担不断相击中，表演者不停地穿花转动，更使人眼花缭乱。技巧娴熟的各种动作，在声声扁担撞击声中轻松完成。

喜庆佳节的打扁担活动，更是热闹非常。场上长形的竹筒和锣鼓与之伴奏，围观的群众不时地传出唱彩声，节日气氛特别热烈。

在打扁担的人群中，你可以发现两髻斑白的老人和稚气十足的孩子，有的全家挥扁担上阵，有的母子同场打扁担，你赛我、我赛你，整个打扁担活动洋溢着欢乐的笑声。
