人们喜欢在清明节期间放风筝。风筝放飞其实并不限于清明节。它的独特之处在于人们在白天不放风筝，晚上也放风筝。一串串的小灯笼拴在风筝上或是线上看起来像闪亮的星星，因此被称为“上帝的灯笼”。

清明节也是一个植树的时候，树苗的成活率很高，树木生长快。在过去，清明节被称为“植树节”。但自1979以来，“植树节”定在3月12日根据公历。
