After reading this book I was shocked and moved by the little boy in the story. The writer let me feel the braveness and kindness in the book.

First, I want to introduce the writer to you. The writer is Maksim Gorky (18681936) He is the former Soviet Union proletarian writer, the founder of socialist realism literature. He was poor, his father died when he was 11-year-old .He and working people shared their fate, and personal experience of capitalist. Gorky is not only a great writer, but also an outstanding community activist. He had set up the Soviet Writers Association, and presided over a congress of the Soviet Union .Gorkys works began to be introduced to China since 1907. His outstanding literary works and books bands in the world-off Class common wealth.

There are four main characters in the story. They are Alexis, his mother Varia, his grandfather and his grandmother. They are totally different.

His mother is a poor but kind woman. Her little son died when he was born. Her husband was died too. Then she married with another man ,but the man always maltreats her.

His grandmother was also a kind woman. She brought up Alexis and gave courage and kindness to Alexis. But unfortunately, his husband always hit her and she died because of illness at last.

His grandfather was a stingy and fierce man. He always maltreats his wife and Alexis. He just loved his money.

The protagonist of this novel was a boy named Alexis. His father died when he was only 3 years old. He followed his mother and came to her motherhome. His grandfather is a violent man. His two uncles are also selfish. His grandfather often hit his wife and his grandson. Little Alexis was maltreated in the family and grew up gradually. However, his grandmother is a kind woman. She is the warm sun of Alexis, she tried her best to protect Alexis. His two uncles wants to get his fathermoney and always fight with their father. The old couple were very disappointed with their son. Finally, the old man decided to separate with them. He sold the old house and bought another home in the city. Personal understanding:

After reading this novel, I can not calm down for a long time. He was so young and lives in such a cold family. He almost never gets the love form his parents. In fact ,the writer wanted to express himself through Alexis. Alexis was like himself. Gorky expressed his childhood through Alexis. This book makes me realize these ugly people at that time. If we with compare our childhood with Gorkys, we would think his childhood is too pathetic.

I want to express my feeling to Alexis. He was young and he did not receive good education. He lived with the fights and quarrels of his families. He was unlucky but he still knew how to be a good person. We are so lucky to live in a warm family. But most of us are not satisfied with it and we want more. We do not know how to cherish the things we have. We often ask for everything from our parents and depend them too much. If someone bully us outside, our parents will encourage us, but for Alexis, nobody will help him and his grandfather even maltreats him. What a poor boy he is. Now, we should realize that we should depend on ourselves and cherish our families. Facing the difficulties by ourselves and try to be confident to life. And the author wanted to satirize these people by this character. He was an important character in this novel and an important person for Alexis. But he did not be responsible for Alexis. Alexis was so unlucky to have such a bad grandfather. And his grandmother was so unlucky to have such a violent husband.

The most kind and pitiful person was Alexisgrandmother. She was the most attractive woman in the literal history of Russia. She did not live a happy day in her whole life. She was so industrious and simple, maybe she just want a simple life. She just want her children could be happy and her husband could love her even did not maltreat her. But her simple dream did not come true. It was unfair for such a kind woman. She lived an unhappy life everyday, but she still love her grandson. She represented these industrious woman at that time. She gave her love to Alexis and hold the broken family. She was so tried everyday with the housework and the maltreatment. I sympathize her very much. She was moved by those money earned by Alexis and Alexis was the hope to her. They encouraged each other to live a bright life.

在我生日的时候，妈妈送了我一辆自行车，我既高兴又烦恼，烦恼的是因为我还不会骑自行车。妈妈鼓励我说：“我来教你”。我听完之后，半信半疑，心理却胆怯着。妈妈示意我坐上自行车，并教了骑自行车的一些方法。我听完之后，我身子倾斜靠着自行车，两手握着自行车手柄，有模有样地开始练习。当我双脚踏上自行车的时候，怎么感觉整个车子好像就要摔倒了，我心理很害怕，手脚不协调，自行车也失去平衡，自行车压在我身上，当时我眼泪哗哗地流下，很不开心，心里纳闷地对妈妈说：“妈妈，我不想学了，太难啦！”妈妈摸着我的头，对我说：“儿子，我们不能放弃，来，我们再试一试，肯定会成功的。”我听完之后，强忍着眼泪，继续学。这次妈妈扶着自行车的后座，让我先有一种安全的感觉，我真的很轻松就骑上了，我突然感觉找到了一些灵感，身子也灵活了很多，放开了胆量，但是我的身体还总是不听使唤，自行车也老是跟我作对，摇摇晃晃，中途我还摔了几次，但我这次却没有放弃。慢慢的，有妈妈在一旁的指点，我开始掌握到了身体必须要平衡，眼睛看前方，我左一蹬，右一蹬，自行车也好像和我成了好朋友一样，也听话了很多。咦，我骑着，骑着，我居然没有摔倒了，我成功了，我很自豪。我骑着自行车，感觉到人生原来做好一件成功的事情，是多么的开心和满足。我骑着自行车，骑了一圈又一圈，唱着歌享受着这种骑车的美妙，想到以后遇到不开心的事情，可以骑着自行车无忧无虑地飞翔。

When i was in high school, I had to study all the time and hardly had spare

time to do what i wanted to.Besides, I had to focus on my textbooks and doing

exercise again and again. Therefore, I had little time to read magazines and

novels and watch TV. what was worse, I couldnt play with my friends a lot, which

I couldnt stand the most. In a word, all i did in high shool should be

considered for the College Entrance Examination.

However, my college life is totally different from the life in high

school.I can arrange my time freely. I spend most of my time reading in the

library, where I can open my eyes and broaden my mind.In my free time, I also

join some clubs,where i can make a lot of friends of different majors. My

teachers in college are so kind and knowledgeable that they not only teach us

knowledge but also how to be a person and how to get on with others. In

addition, there are more opportunities for me to improve myself.

I believe college life is an important stage in my life. In college, i can

learn how to learn by myself, how to get on with others, how to live

independently.College provides me with a stage where i can show myself and be

myself.

童年像一首美妙的谱不完的乐曲，让你如痴如醉;童年也像绽放在夜空的烟花，让你欢呼雀跃。在我的童年生活里，总是充满了欢乐、天真和浪漫。童年虽然短暂，却乐趣无边，童年的天空也星光灿烂。

抹开童年记忆的花絮，细细回味，便觉乐趣无穷。

每年的春天一到，到处便生机勃勃，万紫千红。于是，天空中陆续有风筝飞起。渐渐地天上的风筝多了，地上的孩子也多了，真是好一番活泼热闹。

放风筝的季节一到，只要你到广场上、阔地上都会看到许多孩子在呼朋引伴地自由自在地玩耍，然后再抬头望望蓝天，便惊觉一群群的风筝也结伴一样在空中浮动。风筝的花样有很多，其中有燕子样的、蝴蝶样的、蜜蜂样的、还有罕见的长蜈蚣样的，五颜六色的让你目不暇接。有的孩子甚至牵着两只的、三只的……地上热闹，天上也热闹。

每次看到如此情景，我和弟弟也都会蠢蠢欲动。于是马上跑去买来风筝，穿好线，兄弟俩小心翼翼地拿到草地上。我捋开线团，远远地牵着丝线，弟弟双手举着风筝一直往后退，那时我们心里别提有多兴奋。当拉好线时，我便像一位严肃的大将军似的大喊一声：“放!”弟弟便松开双手，让风筝自由地飞起来。不过，有时弟弟也会耍赖皮的说：“我要牵线……你听我命令!……”被他这么一闹，我也只好让让他。可他总是放不高，三两个跟头就栽了下来。于是常常会被我跑过去夺过他手中的线，弟弟也只好无可奈何地认输了，眼巴巴地盯着我手中的线，心底里佩服着我的技巧。我找好风向，逐渐放开长线，等到风筝越飞越高，我便把丝线交到弟弟手中了，他很高兴地奔跑、欢呼。我们便笑着、喊着，这时我们俩已经把嬉笑系在风筝线上，心向着风筝飞啊，飞啊，飞向那深邃的蓝天上，飞向美好的未来。

童年，真好!生活总是那样的无忧无虑、无拘无束。可惜的是光阴似箭，我的童年早已悄然离去。我多想拾回那逝去的金色的童年啊!

今年，学校安排了一次有意义的采摘活动。进入采摘园，一股熟悉的香味扑鼻而来，这种香味是那么熟悉，那么亲切。细一闻，原来是枣花的香味，这枣花香使我想起了幼年时老宅院那几棵高大挺拔的枣树。

在我小时候，爷爷从家门前移植了几棵枣树，没过几天，枣树偷偷地钻出嫩黄的芽儿来，渐渐的，黄芽变成了绿色，绿叶便密布枝头。五月初，枣树开出淡黄色的枣花，不时散发着迷人的芳香，说来也奇怪，枣花平时很没有存在感，黄绿的小小的藏在叶子里，连味道都不明显。唯独下过雨后，一出门，满是湿润的味道。呼吸之间不像是把空气吸进肺到更像是吞进胃里。小时候也分辨不出，只当那是下过雨之后的清新空气。树上的花慢慢凋谢了，花儿落了之后，渐渐地长出了绿色的椭圆形小枣，像一个个绿色的灯笼，随着时间的推移，一个个绿色的灯笼变成了椭圆的小枣，吃起来又苦又涩。

最令人欣喜的还是秋天，因为爷爷家枣树上的枣丰收了，越是深秋，枣便越脆越甜，到了八月十五该打枣了，因为这种枣很脆，只要一落地就裂，所以爷爷已经准备好了牛津布，把牛津布铺在地上，爸爸上了梯子，不停地摇晃着枣树，枣子纷纷落到牛津布上。我们全家一起品尝着又脆又甜的枣子，因为爷爷家的枣子格外脆甜，与邻居家的不同，妈妈又挑选了一些大的枣分给邻居，让邻居和我们一起分享收获的喜悦。邻居家也有枣树，可是唯有爷爷家的枣树高大挺拔，结出的枣子又脆又甜满口生津。剩下的枣子妈妈就会和白酒搭配在一起做成醉枣，清醇芬芳，酒香浓郁。

后来搬了家，离开了那个充满童趣的老宅院，再也没闻到过枣花的香气。即使雨后的空气多么清新也再没有过甜味，于是才明白，原来那些年竟是枣花香。

Mine happened when I was five, when my parents took me to the city zoo.

It was a hot summer so most animals were laying down to stay cool.

As we walked around, I saw a panther crouching by a hill in its enclosure.

All of a sudden, the panther leaped over the wall and jumped on the back of an old lady who was eating a hamburger.

The old lady let out a high pitched scream and fell down from her seat, sprawling on the cement pavement and passed out.

The panther did not attack the old lady, but picked the hamburger dropped by the lady.

After swallowing the hamburger, the panther started walking around the cafeteria with many visitors looking at it.

One kid saw the animal outside, and called excitedly, “Mommy! Look! I want to pat the Panther!” The kid ran to the animal.

By the time the panther was laying on the ground.

The little boy went to the panther and sat on its back.

The panther stood, with the boy on its back, started running towards the gate of the zoo and disappeared into the city in the dusk twilight.

I took a few pictures of the boy riding the panther, and this, was an experience I will never forget.

It was a very busy evening, I was doing my homework at my home. My father was writing a composition in the study room. My mother was interested in Shanghai opera. She was watching a Shanghai opera contest. The apartment was very quiet. Suddenly the light went out. It was a blackout, but I liked it very much. It came and I didn’t have to do my homework. We went to the living room very slowly. After 5 minutes, we all sat in the sofa. It was a lucky, fortunate day. I said that let’s held a concert. My parents agreed with me. I took out some candles and lighted up. We were singing, laughing and talking. We had a really good time. But while I was singing, the light suddenly turned on. Oh, my God. My father went back to his room went on writing. My mother turned on the TV and said to me “Dear, do your homework!”

I felt very frustrated. I sat at the desk and thought I hated light. I hoped there would be a blackout the next day. I thought I would enjoy myself more and more. I went into a dream……

Many children are always looking forward to the winter vacation; this is because during the vacation, children needn’t go to school; They can do everything they like, such as playing, watching TV, traveling, or even sleeping all the day and so on. and when winter vacation come on ,it means that spring festival will come on soon.I spent the whole day at home nearly every day, I played with my computer .I played computer games and surfed the internet. during the vacation ,I still stayed in touch with my classmates and my friends.

I think I have been a potatoes mouse .During the spring festival, I visited my relatives ,and I got a lot of red bags. Even though my vacation was crazy and exciting, but I really learnt a lot. It was good for relaxing, and I am getting ready for the coming new term now. Good-bye, my winter vacation.

I am a student who studies in a school which is located in Harbin. I was admitted into this beautiful school. I still remember the day when I first went to school. In my eyes, everything was pretty. I get on well with my classmates and teachers. Since I went to this school, I think of my teachers as my best friends like leaves and flowers. I never look upon them as others. It is reason why I often question my teachers on some problems is that I love them. When I am trouble and lose heart, they always help me settle these problems. Of course, I am also satisfied with their education. I have a lot of friends who can make me try to form them good study habits. Because of that, I often get up early and try my best to study well.I also like you that I have favorite subject, also have dislike subject. I prefer learning English to learning others. It is easily of me to learn this lesson, I often get an "A" in the exam. In my In my opinion，In the future work, the English study also play an important role. I do not like Chinese because it is so boring that I cant stand sleeping. In order to make progress, I have to try my best to learn it well. I also want to lay a good foundation in all subjects. Physical recreations and intellectual activities are the two major ways of spending our leisure time. While some people have interests in both of them, most of us also have preferable way to spend our time off. I prefer a balance of these kinds of activities to provide both the physical conditioning and mental stimulation I need to face in the daily grind. For me, physical recreation is necessary for good health but intellectual pursuits such as reading stories provide the most pleasure.

I really enjoy my school life. School life should be interesting and colorful, just as the saying goes, "The school life is everyone young men, the source of happiness."
