It provides a convenient access to consolidate the relationship with people they know, make friends with strangers without restrictions of space and share happiness and sorrow. What’s more, social networking also has educational functions including reducing college drop-out rates, motivating students to work as a team, sending information about assignments, reminding students about deadline and stimulating students to help each other. However, every coin has two sides. There are also many disadvantages on the influence of social networking, among which, “soft addiction” is the most serious problem, distracting students from study. Because of lack of self-restriction, many students would waste plenty of time to search the social networking sites unconsciously, followed by a strong tendency to blame themselves (Li, 2013). This kind of “soft addiction” and distraction was also confirmed by Zhang (2011) who conducted a survey by questionare of 500 Chinese college students from different schools and found that 33% students could not bear one-week life without social networking and 77% students could not help themselves accessing social networking site during classes. Furthermore, a social experiment was performed by Harrisburg University (Pilkington, 2010) to figure out the effect after initiating blackout of all social networking sites. It turned out that some students became more concentrated on

the tutor and making notes instead of having instant messaging running in classes.

As far as I’m concerned, the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages, especially in China, where social networking is used for communication and entertainment and seldom plays the educational role (Li, 2011). The priority of a college student is to study hard instead of being addicted to social networking. Every year billion tons of carbon dioxide is added into the air, which in part results in global warming and climate change. Now we are live in the world that is filled with pollution. As far as I am concerned, we should reduce carbon emission.

每年数十亿吨二氧化碳排放到空气中,这在一定程度上导致了全球变暖和气候变化。现在我们生活在充满污染的世界。我个人认为,我们应该减少碳排放。

First, we can adopt different ways to solve the problem if it is convenient for us, such as going to work by bus. There is no doubt that it can cut down the pollution and improve our environment. What’s more, it is cheaper, comparing with other ways. Second, there are different kinds of trees which can absorb carbon dioxide, so we also need plant more trees around us. At the same time, our government should pay attention to take action to improve our living quality.

首先, 如果对我们方便的话，我们可以采用不同的方式解决这个问题,比如乘公共汽车去上班。 无疑问,这种方式可以减少污染,改善我们的环境。更重要的是,与其他交通方式相比，它更便宜。其次，不同种类的树木可以吸收二氧化碳,所以我们还需要种植更多的树。与此同时,我们的政府应该注意采取行动来改善我们的生活质量。

It is our duty to reduce carbon emission, but it is also a long way for us to achieve it. No matter how hard the condition will be, I think if we try our best together. Maybe the problem can be solving someday, because carbon emission is a focus of the world.

Nowadays the problems about environment become more and more serious. There are so many pollutions and natural disasters in the world, and they all have the unpredictable effect. More and more factories function, follow that also have some water pollutions, air pollutions. As for the special air can make holes in the ozone layer, destroy the atmosphere as well. Flood, desert, dry, such the disasters like those probably will be happen in next time. Therefore in that time as hard as we can to save the earth is the most important thing to do.

From a middle class family, I was born in Hsin Ying, Tainan on October 10th, 1965. My father is a civil official at Tainan City Government. My mother is a house wife good at cooking. Although I am the only child of my parents, I am by no mans a spoiled one.() On the contrary, I have been expected to be a successful man with advanced education. I study hard at school. Besides texts knowledge, journalism is my favorite; whenever reading, my heart is filled with great joy and interesting.
