The Chinese have specific way to celebrate their new year. If you walk down the street in Chinatown during Chinese New Year, you see a variety of ancient traditions such as red banners, firecrackers and lion dance performances, streets are filled with lively celebration.

However, legend has said that the new year has not always been a time of festivity. An Asian Chinese story told a chilly start to this festive holiday, it begins with an ancient Chinese beast called Nian.

Every New Year Nian would rise from swelling in the sea to ravage Chinese village in livestock and hurting people. The villages soon found out from a wise gray-haired old man that the only way to scare the beast away was to set off firecrackers and light lamps and to hang red banners on each door. As the story goes, this was the beginning of a tradition that would last thousands of years.

So this story leads to the creation of many of other traditions for celebrating Chinese New Year. lets take a look at some of these traditions.

我也喜欢故事中的梅小雅，她是单亲家庭，而且她妈妈失了业，家里穷，开了个小店，光妈妈一个人养家糊口是不够的，于是梅小雅既要努力学习，保证将来能考上好的大学，又要帮妈妈经营起这能让母女俩生存下来的唯一生计。梅小雅是一个自立自强的人，从小就经得起生活的考验，而我都十三岁了，没有像她那样能干，更不能自力更生，和葡萄一样，依着架子，才能向上攀爬。

我也羡慕着梅小雅，在遇到困难时，有那么多朋友帮助她。而我的身边也有许多让我骄傲的朋友。他们在我哭的时候用温柔的话语安慰我，在我开心的时候相互拥抱着一起笑，在我孤独的时候牵起手陪伴我，在我失去信心时鼓励我……

我喜欢《女生日记》，它让我明白了很多很多我从来不知道的事，让我学会如何生活。

今天，我给大家介绍一本我最爱看的书——《海底两万里》。这本书是什么时候买的，我已经不记得了，但内容却使我久久难忘。

《海底两万里》是法国的儒勒凡尔纳写的。它一开始是说海上老出现一个巨大的水怪，它速度非常快，还会喷水（“诺第留斯号”潜水艇）。主人公——啊龙纳斯科学家想去捉它，去了一艘高速驱逐舰。当时它速度快的惊人，每小时可行１８.３海里。他的助手名叫：康塞尔。他还交了个朋友：尼德兰，他是个粗汉，一位技艺捕鲸手。有一天，他们碰上了“怪物”。他们冒着爆炸的危险超高速追“怪物”，结果“怪物”把他们撞进了海里。他们正好掉在它身边，上去后才发现这是一艘潜水艇。

这艘潜水艇叫“诺第留斯号”它速度极快，最快可达到每小时４０海里。可以潜到很深的地方，可以让任何雷达都查不到!船是很长的圆筒形，两端作圆锥状。这个圆筒的长度，从头到尾，正好是七十米，它的横柄最宽的地方是八米。它的吃水部分占十分之九，浮出部分只占十分之一，这样它就可以在水中保持平衡。它由双层船壳造成， 一层是内壳，另一层是外壳，两壳之间用许多T字形的蹄铁把它们连接起来使船身坚硬无比。这两层船壳是用钢板制造的，钢的密度与海水密度的比例是十比七至八。第一层船壳至少有五厘米厚，重量是三百九十四点九六吨。第二层内壳，就是龙骨，有五十厘米高，二十五厘米宽，只重六十二吨。

后来，他们坐艇在海底走了两万里路，又闯南极，又过通道，又去珊瑚墓地……最后，他们一行人从艇上逃了出来。

这本书深深地吸引了我，我放学一回家就看，吃完饭也看，反正有空就看。有一次回家，我又抱起它看了起来，爸爸让我写作业，可我连动都没动，爸爸说：“看完这段就去写作业。”说完就把门一关走了。可我竟没听见似的看了一段又一段。十分钟后，爸爸来送水，看我还没写就说我，我可是扎扎实实的被吓了一跳，赶紧把书一放写作业。可爸爸一走，我心里又想起我刚刚看的那段，不知不觉地拿起书又看上了！直到爸爸叫我吃饭，我才发现，我看过点了！心想：要是写不完作业怎么办？我心里开始发慌，赶紧看小本。一看小本，哎！还好，没作业，我心里的石头总算放下了。

就这样，三个月过去了，我把它看完了，这真是一本好书，我决定介绍给大家。
