The prince sees Cinderella. He asks her to dance with him. All night long they dance and talk. The prince and Cinderella fall in love. At twelve oclock, Cinderella runs out of the palace.

Cinderella runs and loses one of her glass shoes. She must get home before twelve. She is late. She runs into the house. Now, she is wearing her old dress again.

The prince finds Cinderellas shoe. "I know this shoe. It belongs to that beautiful girl. Ill find her," he says. The next morning, he goes from house to house to find her. He goes to Cinderellas house. The two ugly stepsisters try on the shoe, but their feet are too big.

"Can I try it on?" asks Cinderella. "Yes," the prince says, so Cinderella tries the shoe on. It fits her foot. "I have found my princess," the prince says. Soon Cinderella and the prince get married. They live happily ever after.

Know the room. Be familiar with the place in which you will speak. Arrive early, walk around the speaking area and practise using the microphone and any visual aids. Know the audience. Greet some of the audience as they arrive. It’s easier to speak to a group of friends than to a group of strangers. Know your material. If you’re not familiar with your material or are uncomfortable with it, your nervousness will increase. Practise your speech and revise it if necessary. Relax. Ease tension by doing exercises. Visualize yourself giving your speech. Imagine yourself speaking, your voice loud, clear, and assured. When you visualize yourself as successful, you will be successful. Realize that people want you to succeed. Audiences want you to be interesting, stimulating, informative, and entertaining. They don’t want you to fail. Don’t apologize. If you mention your nervousness or apologize for any problems you think you have with your speech, you may be calling the audience’s attention to something they hadn’t noticed. Keep silent. Concentrate on the message — not the medium. Focus your attention away from your own anxieties, and outwardly toward your message and your audience. Your nervousness will dissipate. Turn nervousness into positive energy. Harness your nervous energy and transform it into vitality and enthusiasm. Gain experience. Experience builds confidence, which is the key to effective speaking. It will never stop assaulting us until our land is totally given away."Once there was a man whose house was on fire. People told him to put out the fire with water, but he would not listen. For the king of the State of Wei was cowardly and only cared for peace at the moment.As might be expected,the Qin army assaulted the State of Wei on a large scale in 225 B.C.,surrounding the capital city Daliang and flooding it by digging open the dykes of the Huanghe River.The State of Wei was finally destroyed by the State of Qin.This story appears in the Historical Records Written by Sima Qian.The set phrase"carrying faggots to put out a fire"is used to mean adopting a wrong method to save a situation and ending up by making it worse.

说到这里，苏代讲了一个故事：从前有一个人，他的房子起火了，别人劝他快用水去浇灭大火，但他不听，偏抱起一捆柴草去救火，是因为他不懂得柴草不但不能灭火反而能助长火势的道理。大王若同意拿着魏国土地去求和，不就等于抱着柴草救火吗？”

尽管苏代讲得头头是道，但是胆小的魏王只顾眼前的太平，还是依大臣们的意见把魏国大片土地割让给秦国。到公元225年，果然秦军又向魏国大举进攻，包围了国都大梁，掘开黄河大堤让洪水淹没了大梁城，魏国终于被秦国灭掉了。

故事出自《史记魏世家》。成语“抱薪救火”比喻用错误的方法去消灭祸害，结果反而使祸害扩大。

现如今，我国对于水资源保护力度不断加大，出台了一系列的法律法规。但如何治理水污染却成了令人头疼的难题。治理水污染必须要先了解造成水污染几大“始作俑者”。

产业结构不合理，增长方式粗放是中国经济长期未能根治的痼疾，其重要表征就是重化工业尤其是资源消耗工业增长较快。问题的关键在于，由于受水资源、航运等产业布局因素的影响，重化工业沿江或沿河布置已经成为一种范式。据统计，全国两万一千多家石化企业中，位于长江、黄河沿岸的石化企业达一万三千多家。至于像小造纸、小皮革等项目在水环境敏感地区大起炉灶的现象更是比比皆是。如此产业布局的最严重后果就是大量污水在可能未经处理的情况下倾注到大江小河。据国家环保总局的调查统计，目前我国工业污水排放量每年达到300多亿吨，尤其是七大水系所承载的工业污水排放与日俱增。

来自于农业方面的面源污染超过工业污染已经成为我国水污染的一个重要特征。研究表明，农村面源污染在各类环境污染中的比重占到30%-60%,并成为水污染的重中之重，其中污水中COD（含氧量）排放已超过城市和工业源的排放总量。一方面，过量使用化肥造成的污染十分惊人。如化肥施于土壤中，只有小部分被作物吸收，大部分则在雨水的作用下或渗透到地下污染地下水，或随地表径流进入河流、稻田、池塘。由于化肥会造成水域富营养化或饮用水源硝酸盐含量超标，因此已经危害水质的“第一隐形杀手”.

农业污染可以对水资源形成伤害的另一大力量来源于畜禽和水产养殖业污染。有调查数据显示：养殖一头牛产生并排放的废水超过22个人生活产生的废水，养殖一头猪产生的污水相当于7个人生活产生的废水；北京近郊禽畜养殖场排放的有机物污染，相当于全市工农业生产污水和生活废水中所含的有机污染物的2-3倍。

就在农业污染超过工业污染的同时，另一大污染源---生活污水又从城乡的各个角落冲出并有愈演愈烈之势。据了解，中国一年洗衣污水量就将近22亿吨，相当于34个十三陵水库，76个昆明湖。仅北京市和上海市2006年生活污水分别就达到9亿和11亿吨。全国大小城市的生活污水的排放量已经超过了工业污水的排放量。

Last week, I received a post card from my friend, which was from Thailand,

I felt so excited, because I always wanted to travel abroad. So I was so eager

to talk to my friend. She showed me the sceneries. I found different sceneries

in different cities. For the first time, I saw the outside world so closely. I

want to explore the world and know more about this planet. I realized the

importance of learning English. If I master more words, then I can communicate
