how i spent my summer vacation

the summer vacation had come round again. i was happy that i could forget about school at least for a while. lest i fool around all through this summer vacation, i made a plan as to how to spend it. first, i thought i should go over all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that i could have a better understanding of them. then i thought i should take up some forms of exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. it stood to reason that with such a good plan i should make the best of my vacation time. i did, because i lived up to what i had planned.

刚开始，我总包不成，心想：没事，还有那么多米和枣呢。慢慢来吧，总会成功的。可是，幸运女神却不眷顾我，那粽叶就像一个不听话的小孩子，粽叶盖不好，不是露馅了，就是用劲儿太大，把粽叶弄烂了。看着一个个漂亮的粽子从妈妈和姥姥灵巧的手里飞出落在盆里，我就恨自己的手指不中用、不配合，关键的时候掉链子，米都快包完了，我还没包好一个，这怎么办？我越看越急，越急越包不成，“金豆”啪嗒啪嗒往下掉。

妈妈看见了，就说：“别急，剩下的留给你慢慢包，第一次学包粽子，肯定会有难度的，急也没用，关键是要找窍门。不让露馅，在卷成筒时把叶子边压进去一点就可以了；盖盖时，关键要灵活使用左右手的大拇指和食指……”经过妈妈再次示范和细心指导，我的第一个粽子终于包好了，尽管它扁扁的不那么好看，但它毕竟是我一生中自己包的第一个粽子啊！

After morning’s class, we couldn’t help rushing to the cafeteria. It always brought us coolness. The food was so-so, but the home-cooking is much delicious. When we almost finished eating, I suddenly saw a familiar face——our foreign teacher Nick. A girl was sitting beside him. They were talking over lunch. Summer vacation is very long, so I want to make a summer vacation plan that belongs to me.

My plan is to get up at 8 am on Monday ~ Friday, write two hours of homework, play 30 minutes, watch 30 minutes of TV, and take a nap at noon. Saturday ~ Sunday morning write an hour of homework, watch TV for a while, and go to my mothers after-school class in the afternoon.

By July, dad will be back from the field and have a potluck with his college friends. So our family of three are going to Beijing for a week. So Ive been looking forward to my dad coming back and taking me to Beijing for a tour.

By August, my mother is going to give me a few extracurricular classes. So, I have to go to class again every day, so I have to hurry up and finish my homework.

Hi, my name is Chen Yi. I’m going to have a busy weekend. On Saturday, I’m going to learn NCE in the morning. Then, I’m going to go home and do my homework. On Sunday morning, I’m going to the bookstore by taxi. I want to buy some books. In the afternoon, I’m going to visit my grandparents and read the new books. I like reading. We all have dreams, and we all work hard to realize them. But there will

always be some problems and setbacks to stop the pace of advance. When they

appear, what should we do? To stop or to go on? Mrs. Curie told us the answer.

We all know that Mrs. Curie discovered radium, but how many people really know

how hard she worked? At that time, there were many people disapprove of Mrs.

Curie. Although she got over hundreds of difficulties, she still believed in

herself and never gave up. Finally, she succeeded to discover radium. She proved

that she was right by her continuous hard work and her strong spirit. We should

learn from Mrs. Curie. She told us the truth through her own experiences that

believe in yourself, you can do it! Never give up, face the difficulties with a

smile, someday, you will be proud of yourself.

The key to success is confidence. It makes you brave, helps you get over

the troubles, and brings motivation to you. For example, somebody always get

nervous when they have an important speech, if they are in a nervous mood, the

results are always terrible. But if they are confident to themselves, the

results turn out to be better. Therefore, be confident, believe in yourself,

keep smile in your face when comes to difficulties, and you will achieve

more.
