Her main protagonist is an orphan named oliver twist, the book tells the story of oliver when I was a child. He was born in an orphanage, there had been bullied, sold to an undertaker of the family.

The Hunger Games, is written by Suzanne Collins. The central ruling city, named the capitol, holds the hunger games. Every year, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games are just a nationally televised event in which Tributes must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

To my surprise, Katniss involved in the hunger games, replaces her sister to play. She moves forward with faith, and finally wins both love and the hunger games. By the way, Katniss and Peeta are the tributes from district 12. Finally, they survive to the end and return home.

In my opinion, the Hunger Games is written mainly against domination. In another word, the hunger games are the product of domination. From the growth of Katniss, I deeply impressed that she is not only minute but also representative and aspirant, for the Hunger Game is not only a game itself as a show, but also the game between the Capitol and other 12 districts. This is a game about domination and revolution. In the Hunger Games, there are many moving scenes. While peeta joins the tributes from the richer districts. However, when he has the opportunity to kill Katniss, he instead saves her from the others. But Rue skilled by another tribute, whom Katniss then kills, Katniss sings to Rue until she dies, which encourages the watching people to chase for freedom and be against domination.

Besides this, I also learn something about hope from the story. Katniss moves all the way forward with hope. She tells peeta in the arena,If we win, we will each get a house in the part of town reserved for Hunger Games’ victors。 She does not give up but does everything she can to increase the possibility of survival. As young adults, we should also have faith in our future. Ups and downs as we may face, none of them is challenging enough compared with the death threat Katniss encounters. Katniss never losed hope. Neither should we.

At the end of Hunger Games, when the couple remain last, the rule changes back. One must kill the other to win. Knowing that the gamemakers would rather have to victors than none, Katniss offer some highly poisonous berries to peeta. Realizing that Katniss and Peeta instead to commit suicide, the gamemakers announce that they both will be victors of the 74th Hunger Games. Katniss is very mature, brave and wise. She is a b role model for young girls with her character"s sacrifice, courage, moral grounding in a world that"s lost its own, and will to fight for what"s right, even if it means sacrificing her own life or sparking a revolution.

Although the reality is cruel for almost every character in the fiction, the positive side of humanity and love is always bright.

I believe that one of the factors that makes a piece of literature or even a movie a masterpiece is how well the reader can relate to the story. This is definitely a book everyone can relate to.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a literary masterpieces, written in 1876 by the famous author Mark Twain. Tom Sawyer is a mischievous young boy who lives in the small town on the Mississippi River called St. Petersburg. The story line is simple, the book reads like a biography or a memoir of a summer in Tom Sawyers life.

Tom Sawyer seems to be the precursor of and the template for misfit kids such as Dennis the Menace, Malcolm in the Middle, and Calvin and Hobbs. What makes this story great is that Tom Sawyer represents everything that is great about childhood. The book is filled with Toms adventures playing pirates and war with his friend Joe Harper. Tom has a trusted friend, Huck Finn, who few of the adults approve of. The book is filled with ideas of how the world works, such as how pirates and robbers work, that are so innocent, they could only come from a child. It is a story filled with action, adventure, ingenious ideas, love, and schoolyard politics. The whole story is seemingly a complication of what people did or wish they did during their childhood.

The book is a little difficult to read at first. Personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. Other than referring to persons of African decent in derogatory terms (which Im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.

Published in 1847, WUTHERING HEIGHTS was not well received by the reading public, many of whom condemned it as sordid, vulgar, and unnatural--and author Emily Bronte went to her grave in 1848 believing that her only novel was a failure. It was not until 1850, when WUTHERING HEIGHTS received a second printing with an introduction by Emilys sister Charlotte, that it attracted a wide readership. And from that point the reputation of the book has never looked back. Today it is widely recognized as one of the great novels of English literature.

Even so, WUTHERING HEIGHTS continues to divide readers. It is not a pretty love story; rather, it is swirling tale of largely unlikeable people caught up in obsessive love that turns to dark madness. It is cruel, violent, dark and brooding, and many people find it extremely unpleasant. And yet--it possesses a grandeur of language and design, a sense of tremendous pity and great loss that sets it apart from virtually every other novel written.

The novel is told in the form of an extended flashback. After a visit to his strange landlord, a newcomer to the area desires to know the history of the family--which he receives from Nelly Deans, a servant who introduces us to the Earnshaw family who once resided in the house known as Wuthering Heights. It was once a cheerful place, but Old Earnshaw adopted a "Gipsy" child who he named Heathcliff. And Catherine, daughter of the house, found in him the perfect companion: wild, rude, and as proud and cruel as she. But although Catherine loves him, even recognizes him as her soulmate, she cannot lower herself to marry so far below her social station. She instead marries another, and in so doing sets in motion an obsession that will destroy them all.

WUTHERING HEIGHTS is a bit difficult to "get into;" the opening chapters are so dark in their portrait of the end result of this obsessive love that they are somewhat off-putting. But they feed into the flow of the work in a remarkable way, setting the stage for one of the most remarkable structures in all of literature, a story that circles upon itself in a series of repetitions as it plays out across two generations. Catherine and Heathcliff are equally remarkable, both vicious and cruel, and yet never able to shed their impossible love no matter how brutally one may wound the other.

As the novel coils further into alcoholism, seduction, and one of the most elaborately imagined plans of revenge it gathers into a ghostly tone: Heathcliff, driven to madness by a woman who is not there but who seems reflected in every part of his world--dragging her corpse from the grave, hearing her calling to him from the moors, escalating his brutality not for the sake of brutality but so that her memory will never fade, so that she may never leave his mind until death itself. Yes, this is madness, insanity, and there is no peace this side of the grave or even beyond.

It is a stunning novel, frightening, inexorable, unsettling, filled with unbridled passion that makes one cringe. Even if you do not like it, you should read it at least once--and those who do like it will return to it again and again.

This is a powerful yet charming movie; fun for its special effects and profound in how it keeps you thinking long after it"s over. Like others, I"ve seen this movie more than once. One comment I"ve never heard is that Forrest"s simplicity is almost zen-like. I should read the novel to get the author"s intention (I remember some people preferring the book and complaining that no one at the Academy Awards gave him any credit.) But rather than an implication that you should do what you"re supposed to do and believe in God and you"ll win in the end, I see it as zen-like, i.e., living in the moment and not having expectations or particular cravings (other than his loving Jenny.) (www.veryok.net)So he ends up just stumbling into all the major historical events of the time. Granted, he achieves this only because he doesn"t have the brains to think otherwise and actually have expectations, but so many of our problems are because we do have higher intellect and desires, which ironically makes us unhappy because we know what we are missing. We love our cats and dogs for the same simplicity and always being in the moment. There"s a line in the movie wondering if everything is predestined or happens randomly or it"s a combination of both. It is something to mull over for a long time.

When I was a middle school student, I’ve finished this book in Chinese. But when I read it in English,I really gain something new both in the way of expression and the spirit it shows to us.May be different ages to read the same book we will learn different things from it.At least, for my part, that is true.

Firstly,I would like to review some information about this book.Such as the background, major characters and the topic of it.

The Old Man and the Sea is a story by Ernest Hemingway, written in Cuba in 1951 and published in 1952. It was the last major work of fiction to be produced by Hemingway and published in his lifetime. One of his most famous works, it centers upon Santiago, an aging Cuban fisherman who struggles with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream.

The Old Man and the Sea served to reinvigorate Hemingways literary reputation and prompted a reexamination of his entire body of work. The novella was initially received with much popularity; it restored many readers confidence in Hemingways capability as an author. Its publisher, Scribners, on an early dust jacket, called the novella a "new classic," and many critics favorably compared it with such works as William Faulkners "The Bear" and Herman Melvilles Moby-Dick.

This book gives me a deep impression especially the description about the man’s braveness and persistence.

In this book, in order to suggest the profundity of the old man’s sacrifice and the glory that derives from it, Hemingway purposefully likens Santiago to Christ, who, according to Christian theology, gave his life for the greater glory of humankind. Crucifixion imagery is the most noticeable way in which Hemingway creates the symbolic parallel between Santiago and Christ. When Santiago’s palms are first cut by his fishing line, the reader cannot help but think of Christ suffering his stigmata. Later, when the sharks arrive, Hemingway portrays the old man as a crucified martyr, saying that he makes a noise similar to that of a man having nails driven through his hands. Furthermore, the image of the old man struggling up the hill with his mast across his shoulders recalls Christ’s march toward Calvary. Even the position in which Santiago collapses on his bed—face down with his arms out straight and the palms of his hands up—brings to mind the image of Christ suffering on the cross. Hemingway employs these images in the final pages of the novella in order to link Santiago to Christ, who exemplified transcendence by turning loss into gain, defeat into triumph, and even death into renewed life.

The major characters in this book are also vivid and lively.

Santiago?,the old man of the novella’s title, Santiago is a Cuban fisherman who has had an extended run of bad luck. Despite his expertise, he has been unable to catch a fish for eighty-four days. He is humble, yet exhibits a justified pride in his abilities. His knowledge of the sea and its creatures, and of his craft, is unparalleled and helps him preserve a sense of hope regardless of circumstance.

The marlin?,Santiago hooks the marlin, which we learn at the end of the novella measures eighteen feet, on the first afternoon of his fishing expedition. Manolin?,a boy presumably in his adolescence, Manolin is Santiago’s apprentice and devoted attendant. The old man first took him out on a boat when he was merely five years old. Due to Santiago’s recent bad luck, Manolin’s parents have forced the boy to go out on a different fishing boat. Manolin, however, still cares deeply for the old man, to whom he continues to look as a mentor.

Joe DiMaggio, although DiMaggio never appears in the novel, he plays a significant role nonetheless. Santiago worships him as a model of strength and commitment, and his thoughts turn toward DiMaggio whenever he needs to reassure himself of his own strength. Perico ?,Perico, the reader assumes, owns the bodega in Santiago’s village. He never appears in the novel, but he serves an important role in the fisherman’s life by providing him with newspapers that report the baseball scores. This act establishes him as a kind man who helps the aging Santiago.

Martin, like Perico, Martin, a café owner in Santiago’s village, does not appear in the story. The reader learns of him through Manolin, who often goes to Martin for Santiago’s supper. As the old man says, Martin is a man of frequent kindness who deserves to be repaid.

From the very first paragraph, Santiago is characterized as someone struggling against defeat. He has gone eighty-four days without catching a fish—he will soon pass his own record of eighty-seven days. Almost as a reminder of Santiago’s struggle, the sail of his skiff resembles “the flag of permanent defeat.” But the old man refuses defeat at every turn: he resolves to sail out beyond the other fishermen to where the biggest fish promise to be. He lands the marlin, tying his record of eighty-seven days after a brutal three-day fight, and he continues to ward off sharks from stealing his prey, even though he knows the battle is useless.

Because Santiago is pitted against the creatures of the sea, some readers choose to view the tale as a chronicle of man’s battle against the natural world, but the novella is, more accurately, the story of man’s place within nature. Both Santiago and the marlin display qualities of pride, honor, and bravery, and both are subject to the same eternal law: they must kill or be killed. As Santiago reflects when he watches the weary warbler fly toward shore, where it will inevitably meet the hawk, the world is filled with predators, and no living thing can escape the inevitable struggle that will lead to its death. Santiago lives according to his own observation: “man is not made for defeat . . . [a] man can be destroyed but not defeated.” In Hemingway’s portrait of the world, death is inevitable, but the best men (and animals) will nonetheless refuse to give in to its power. Accordingly, man and fish will struggle to the death, just as hungry sharks will lay waste to an old man’s trophy catch.

The novel suggests that it is possible to transcend this natural law. In fact, the very inevitability of destruction creates the terms that allow a worthy man or beast to transcend it. It is precisely through the effort to battle the inevitable that a man can prove himself. Indeed, a man can prove this determination over and over through the worthiness of the opponents he chooses to face. Santiago finds the marlin worthy of a fight, just as he once found “the great negro of Cienfuegos” worthy. HSantiago, though destroyed at the end of the novella, is never defeated. Instead, he emerges as a hero. Santiago’s struggle does not enable him to change man’s place in the world. Rather, it enables him to meet his most dignified destiny.

While it is certainly true that Santiago’s eighty-four-day run of bad luck is an affront to his pride as a masterful fisherman, and that his attempt to bear out his skills by sailing far into the gulf waters leads to disaster, Hemingway does not condemn his protagonist for being full of pride. On the contrary, Santiago stands as proof that pride motivates men to greatness. Because the old man acknowledges that he killed the mighty marlin largely out of pride, and because his capture of the marlin leads in turn to his heroic transcendence of defeat, pride becomes the source of Santiago’s greatest strength. Without a ferocious sense of pride, that battle would never have been fought, or more likely, it would have been abandoned before the end.

Santiago’s pride also motivates his desire to transcend the destructive forces of nature. Throughout the novel, no matter how baleful his circumstances become, the old man exhibits an unflagging determination to catch the marlin and bring it to shore. When the first shark arrives, Santiago’s resolve is mentioned twice in the space of just a few paragraphs. Even if the old man had returned with the marlin intact, his moment of glory, like the marlin’s meat, would have been short-lived. The glory and honor Santiago accrues comes not from his battle itself but from his pride and determination to fight.

Santiago dreams his pleasant dream of the lions at play on the beaches of Africa three times. The first time is the night before he departs on his three-day fishing expedition, the second occurs when he sleeps on the boat for a few hours in the middle of his struggle with the marlin, and the third takes place at the very end of the book. In fact, the sober promise of the triumph and regeneration with which the novella closes is supported by the final image of the lions. Because Santiago associates the lions with his youth, the dream suggests the circular nature of life. Additionally, because Santiago imagines the lions, fierce predators, playing, his dream suggests a harmony between the opposing forces—life and death, love and hate, destruction and regeneration—of nature.

This book gives me courage of conquering all kinds of difficulties .And I have the belief that the most beautiful thing is the process that we make our best to achieve our dream, and never say give up .

Sons and Lovers was D.H. Lawrences first major novel. His only major novel, some would say; but even readers who are out of sympathy with him, or who feel that his gifts were not really those of a novelist, have usually been happy to make a wholehearted exception in this one case.

It is a book that goes straight to the point, at the outset and at almost every subsequent stage. Between them his two methods leave us in no doubt where the heart of his story is to be located.

Gertrude Morel is a woman of high principle, of character and refinement. Her husband is a miner who can barely read and write. Marrying him for passion, she is bitterly disappointed by his rough manners, his drinking, what she can only see as his weakness and irresponsibility. When the book opens, the marriage has already turned into a battlefield, and the love she has withdrawn from Morel is being redirected toward the first of her children. In the previous chapters, Gertrude Morel is most devoted to her eldest son William. But after he dies of a skin disease, she plunges into grief. Seeing William is gone, she rededicates her life to Paul, and this revives her. She teaches her son art, education, and social advancement. She lives for her sons and will do anything to see them make their way in the world.

Mrs. Morel is terribly tired of her involvement in Paul and Miriams relationship and decides to stop intervening. She knows that Paul is an adult now and that there is nothing she can do to stop Paul from seeing Miriam. She feels that she can never forgive her son for sacrificing himself to love Miriam. As it mentions above, Paul has begun to realize how much his mother affects his life. Her deep love for him has made her a part of himself that when he wants to break free from his mother, he is unable to get away from her. His mother is ingrained into his very soul.

That’s to say, his mother influences Paul very much, and which proves to be for worse to him. When Paul finds girlfriend, he always find the girl who takes after his mother, not only the out look but also in mental. But in fact he could not find such girl. So it lead to that he never willing to be bound to Miriam in marriage or to Clara in physical love. At last Paul has begun to realize how much his mother affects his life. Her deep love for him has made her a part of himself that when he wants to break free from his mother, he is unable to get away from her. His mother is ingrained into his very soul.

To sum up, Paul’s mother has some bad influence on him and to a large extent changes his life.

"The wizard of oz" is a book rich in knowledge and truth, which makes me learn a lot.Every chapter of the story deserves to be savored.

The story of the girl rosie, aunt em, and uncle Henry live on a ranch in Kansas.By a whirlwind to a strange place.Under the guidance of the good witch of oz, she set out on her way home and eventually overcame all the difficulties to get home.

On her way home she met many of her friends, even though she encountered many difficulties and dangers.A scarecrow with no brain.& other;A tin man with no heart.& other;A lion without courage.Help her get through this.Let me really understand the importance and value of friendship.Sometimes I wonder: if rosie gets to that strange place without the help of these friends, she will never come home to her aunt and uncle. It is possible to fall into the street and become a slave, which makes me feel the importance of friends again. And my classmates sometimes laugh at each other and start fighting when they have something small.I think we should help each other, build friendship, love each other, unite together, do not quarrel over a little thing, and destroy the friendship between friends.

, of course, not just because of the power of friendship to create the perfect ending, but also because of their good wishes for their own unremitting efforts, whether it is by how many setbacks, how many difficulties, but they still insist on.I admire their noble qualities.

On that thrilling journey, they could not go on because of a great ditch across the road.At this moment, it seems to us that their journey is about to stop. Then the scarecrow came forward. The cowardly lion also stood up and jumped out of the ditch, and when everyone reached the other side, the lion was tired and out of breath.

This book appeals to me not only the wonderful story but also the inspiration it brings to me.The most prominent point is: to do everything must have perseverance, persistence, only has success, only has the rainstorm after the rainbow.

Im far from the main characters.Once, my mother helped me with a brush shift, and at the beginning I studied with enthusiasm, but after a few days, I found it very boring.I started off in class; He didnt finish the homework assigned by the teacher. After reading this book, I finally understand that I need to persevere, to conquer myself, not to be afraid of difficulties, and finally to see the rainbow after the wind and rain.

My favorite is the story of the last chapter, although only a few words, but it can be the end of the story that rosie has been so hard to get home.It contained a spirit of perseverance and courage to overcome difficulties.

The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a great part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.

I first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.

On summer vacation of this year, I studied in novel " old man and sea " of Hemingway , famous writer of U.S.A. ,. I admire the old fishermans will in the novel very much, he lets me understand that a person must have unremitting spirit, could succeed . What the novel is described is an old fisherman almost the sixty years old, when go to sea and fish alone once, have angled to a big fish, but can not draw. After tough fisherman and fish have socialized for a few days, just find this is a big Malins fish which exceeds several times of ones own fishing boat, though know perfectly well that it is very difficult to win , does not give up yet. Because big Malin fish fishlike smell of wound attract odd herds of shark vie for the food again later, but the old man is still unwilling to give up like this, stress the tight encirclement finally , take the large fish back to fishing port , let other fishmen admire it endlessly. The old fisherman thinks that as I read ": It is really too close from here to coast, perhaps there are bigger fish in the farther place ……" When, admire very much because this old fisherman in the persons, because play not for some fishing he already at this moment I, but he is not satisfied with the existing state of affairs , but advance towards greater goal. Seeing us again, meet some little difficulties at ordinary times , all of us complain bitterly. We are the future of the motherland, should be as ambitious as this old man, go to pursue well , greater goal. Read as me " big Malin fish is it enclose light fishing boat move about , is it get mast to twine cable fast to begin, old man right hand hold steel fork high , jump out in a flash , affording to try ones best above water in it, a sound of wail has finished the life of the loud fish, it floats on the surface of water silently ……"When, the I one heart is too fall like pieces of stone not big. I admire that kind of fearing of the old man at all , unremitting spirit very much, though know rivals strength is very strong , but he has not shrunk back at all , meets the difficulty. Just because there is this kind of spirit, the old fisherman has obtained the victory of the trial of strength of this life and death. We should study the old fishermans spirit too in life, do the thing and is not afraid of the difficulty , could achieve success . Read big blood offensive smell of fish smell one shark , fall over each other to visit to vie for the food, left hand of old man pull a muscle just, he can only use right hand, can weapon attacked to used for defend oneself with stick , mouth of swordfish that catch everything, and has driven away this herd of shark finally. But big meat of fish take into big half already, but old man criticize ones own left hand " when the work this when have a rest " humorously also, I am subdued by old mans optimistic spirit too. In life, some losses are unavoidable, we should treat the optimistic attitude , cant worry about petty gain or loss . Finally, the novel sees with a teenager that old fisherman has 18 feet of big long Malins fish totally in the tolerance , the ones that have described this fish are enormous again, prove that old fishermans difficulty overcome is big, than ordinary. Old fishermans spirit that makes great efforts to struggle fearless of danger and difficulty that the novel has been extolled, we should be like him too, can t be satisfied with the current situation , should be positive upwards, it should be unremitting to do anything, it must not give up halfway to meeting difficulty should meet the difficulty. Only in this way, we could obtain greater success and victory .

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite novel, which impresses me for a long time. It describes a love story mainly between Elisabeth, who I like the best, and a rich and proud man, Darcy.

The story began with the arrival of a crowd of rich men who rent a house near the Bennet. In a ball, Elisabeth gave such a bad impression on Darcy’s first pride that she refused Darcy’s first proposal. Darcy was so surprised by Elisabeth’s refusal that he loved Elisabeth more deeply. And Elisabeth’s antipathy made Darcy realize his shortcomings. He was not angry about Elisabeth’s censure, but also he changed his previous proud attitude.

During Elisabeth’s travel in Darcy’s manor. Darcy was very nice to her uncle and aunt, different from previous proud attitude. When one of Elisabeth’s sisters ran away with Wickham, Darcy helped Elisabeth find her sister and prevent her sister from the loss of reputation, with nobody knowing that it was he who helped the Bennet. So many changes in Darcy eliminated Elisabeth’s prejudice. At last it end with their marriage.

Taking the daily life as its material, this story reflected the life and love in a conservative你 and blocking England town. It reflected the author’s view about marriage that it is fault to marry for property, money and status and it is also foolish to take these elements into account. In fact Darcy’s pride manifested the gap between their statuses.

Since his pride existed, there is no ideal marriage between Elisabeth and Darcy. From the different attitudes from Darcy’s two proposals, it reflected the feminine pursuit of personality independence and right equality, which is a progressive character from the image of Elisabeth.

After reading this book I think it is necessary to share the old legend to everybody .

There is a legend about a bird which sings just once in its life, more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth. From the moment it lea一ves the nest it searches for a thorn tree, and does not rest until it has found one. Then, singing among the sa一vage branches, it impales itself upon the longest, sharpest spine. And, dying, it rises above its own agony to out- carol the lark and the nightingale. One superlative song, existence the price. But the whole world stills to listen, and God in His hea一ven smiles. For the best is only bought at the cost of great pain …

Meggie Cleary is just like the bird, and Ralph is her superlative song.

I read the book then watched the movie, both of them ga一ve me great shock, I really admire Meggie, she had the courage to use her whole life to love Ralph, never ga一ve up. She believed that she would love Ralph only in her life. But I don’t like Meggie’s attitude to love, Ralph is a Father, and he mustn’t love Meggie, they really loved each other, but they are not destined to be together. So in my opinion I think Meggie should give in, she shouldn’t fight with God, Ralph had told her he would serve God forever, so Meggie wouldn’t win. Maybe giving up is a good choice. Their love is painful.

Tell the turth I don’t like Meggie neither Ralph, Ralph could not give Meggie happniess while Meggie couldn’t support Ralph to concentrate on his work. So they would not ha一ve happy life, they only made each other feel sad .

Frank is my fa一vorite role. he was short but strong ,and he was one of the main labor in his family. He didn’t want to be a shepherd, but the family needed him , and he must feed he the sheep so that everybody in his family can live better. Once he escaped from home , but it wassn’t long before his father found him and take him home. I feel so sorry that he had a miserable fate. He longed for freedom but most of his life didn’t belong to himself, it’s really a pity .

Frank was different to every man in their home, he loved his mother deeply, and he always helped his mother do the housework. he dreamed to be an outstanding boxer. Frank was considerable, and he always try his best to make Meggie feel happy. As Meggie’s oldest brother, he could be worried about Meggie’s fa一vorite doll, and he even tried to fixed the doll which was distroyed by Meggie’s other brothers. Frank and Meggie would always tell each other what they thought in their deep heart , and they are close friends.

I was so sad when I learned that Frank killed a man and he was sent to the prision. It is really a big shock to Meggie, for Frank was the only one who can listen to Meggie’s secrets. She thought she lost Frank forever. I cannot imagine how painful for Frank to spend dozens years in the prision. He once had good dream about his life, but he had to waste most of his life in prision. In my opinion it was Frank’s father that distoryed his life. His father didn’ t give him freedom, and Frank can’t had strong resistance spirits, and because he didn’t control himself and broke the law.The energitic Frank will never come to us, and he became a man who didn’t wanna talk. He began to be afraid of the world…it is really a pity.

As for Meggie, I think she was a good girl. She was beautiful and smart, but she it was wrong for her to love Ralph. Meggie was an excellent girl, she was able to find an outstanding boy to love her, but she put all her love on Ralph even she married Luke. She married Luke just because Luke looked like Ralph. Meggie wanna be a thorn bird, but I think it was too cruel to her. She was so kind that she shouldn’t stand that king of pain, and I think she was born to ha一ve a happy life. I pity for her.

Both the story of thorn birds and the legend are painful and beautiful, but not every one can be the thorn birds, because it is not our porpose to ha一ve a painful life. We are born to be happy. Olny happiness is the ture meaning of life while the story was written for us to enrich our life. It is a wonderful story.
