"Jane Eyre" is the British modern literature a significant position of the novel, is the representative of the author Charlotte, he has successfully created a dare to struggle, dare to the image of women, the freedom and equality indeed, after I read this book, I was very moved, also deeply such a defiant, brave heroine infection.

The full text can be divided into four stages: at the home of aunt Reed, at the raund school, in Schonfeld, in Saint John.

Jane was born in England, young when she lost her parents, aunt Mrs. Reed in a dozen years spent at home, but Mrs. Reed not good to her, including her children, even the servants dont love her, her uncle John even often insulted her, perhaps this kind of living environment, give it to her the thought brought great restraint, her behavior is limited, she had to fight. When she had the first conflict with her cousin, Jane said without fear, "your boy is really vicious and cruel!" You are like a murderer, you are like a man who abused others, you are like the emperor of Rome. Although the result of the quarrel was obvious, Janes brave performance, the spirit of resistance, shook any reader.

Because Mrs. Reed did not like Jane and sent her to a school at random, but on the contrary, she agreed with Jane. She didnt want to stay at Mrs. Reeds home.

Jane entered the Rao Wald school. In this school, children, including Jane, suffer from cold and hunger, and be beaten, punished, cut, hair and other insults, meals are very bad, and their living environment is not healthy. A cold can not be timely treatment, destined to a half will take a number of trained typhus infection, the childs life, Jane in such a school, witnessed all her hatred of the school, the schools founder, especially hate Mr Hearst, he is a pseudo word Jun, this school is a hell on earth. Jane in this school had her alumni Helen * Burns said: "when we are beaten we should It is without rhyme or reason., fiercely fought back, I am sure we should fight back, fiercely fought back, the lessons learned that US, that he will never dare such a hit. This will further show the reader her indomitable adherence to the resistance. You have to be convinced.

The third part is the core part of the book, Jane a governess at Thornfield house. For Jane to say that this is a very strange place, is Janes first set foot on the society, contact with the outside world, where Jane met Mr. Rochester, although Rochester is older than Jane, who looks not beautiful, but their thoughts have a lot in common, naturally fell in love with Jane he. Jane does not care about Rochesters vast wealth and fame and fortune, she is a real emotion, a friendly and open, she hopes they are equal between. But when she thought Rochester was going to marry Ingram and wanted to leave her, she said angrily, "do you think I will stay and become your decisive person?

Do you think Im an automatic machine, a machine without feelings... Do you think Im poor, low, beautiful, short, and I have no soul and no heart

You are wrong! - my soul is exactly the same as you... And I talk to you now, and not through the custom, customary, not even by physical, human - it is my spirit that addresses your spirit, just as the two had passed through the grave, and we at Gods feet, equal - because we are equal.

I was moved by this passage. Yes, we are equal. Even if the beautiful and attractive miss Ingram has a good reputation, there is a strong hearted family teacher. Jane also challenges the upper class. After a few twists and turns, Jane and Rochester were finally able to walk together.

Jane had been treated unfairly from childhood, but she achieved her career success and happiness by virtue of her fearless, acting and fighting spirit. I threw her away and wished her a better life.

Though the unfair treatment in todays society may be rare, the spirit of resistance is indispensable to all of us. We must learn to resist and fight against it because we are equal.

The Metamorphosis, written in 1912, is one of Kafka’s masterpieces. It talks about Gregor Samsa. One morning, when he woke up, he found himself transformed into a gigantic insect. At first, his parents and sister were filled with compassion and they cared for him. But at last, they regarded him as a burden, leaving him alone. In the end, he died in loneliness quietly. From my point of view, The Metamorphosis is the immortal classic in the modern literature history.

First of all, the tragedy of Gregor Samsa is just the epitome of Kafka himself. In his whole life, he lived just like an insect. He can’t realize his dream because of the poor situation, and he didn’t have possession of love. So he thought he was small and had no confidence. While in his work, The Metamorphosis, Gregor Samsa might be a kind of distorted hopelessness. He was a giant created by a lifelong loneliness. So we can see a picture of Kafka.

Besides, Kafka expressed his accusation the distorted values of people and questioned the human nature. Gregor Samsa once supported his family, but when he transformed into an insert, his family started to disgust him with the time going, and even detest him in the end, hoping that he could die earlier with a disdainful eyes. How selfish、indifferent and cruel they are!

Lastly, Kafka criticized the capitalist society. In the early 21 century, the World War 1 happened. The inhumanity and slaughter can be seen everywhere. Money worship as well as the labor press is the source of distorted humanity and values of people. So The Metamorphosis can reflect the society at that time.

We can draw the conclusion that there is some philosophy in The Metamorphosis, which is the reason that why it is classic in the modern literature history.

My Feelings after reading Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights is a well-written tragedy of love. After reading the whole story, I would like to talk about the main characters of the story—Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff. Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff love each other very much, but they do not have the right attitude towards love, which leads to the tragedy.

In Catherine’s life, she made a very foolish decision---marrying to Edgar. In fact, her love for Edgar can never be compared to that for Heathcliff. She did so, because she thought the wealth of Edgar would be useful to Heathcliff. But in reality, it did not work. She did not have a good understanding of love, which is something pure and saint. If anyone add any purpose into love, love itself lost its meaning. Catherine’s wrong decision hurt two people who love her, and even destroyed the happiness of their offspring.

Heathcliff is a man full of retaliation. He loved Catherine very much, but what he did, on the contrary, added to the misery of Catherine. In my opinion, if he really loved Catherine, he should not walk into Catherine’s life again after his disappearance. Further more, after the death of Catherine, what Heathcliff did brought agony to Catherine’s daughter, as well as his own son.

After reading, I have a better understanding of love. If you love really someone, his or her happiness is the thing that most matters.

Little Women is a novel published in 1868 and written by American author Louisa May Alcott. The story concerns the lives and loves of four sisters growing up during the American Civil War. It was based on Alcotts own experiences as a child in Concord, Massachusetts with her three sisters, Anna, May, and Elizabeth.

Little Women is the story of The Marches, a family used to hard toil and suffering. Although Father March is away with the Union armies, the sisters Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth keep in high spirits with their mother, affectionately named Marmee. Their friendly gift of a Christmas holiday breakfast to a neighbouring family is an act of generosity rewarded with wealthy Mr. Laurences gift of a surprise Christmas feast. However, despite their efforts to be good, the girls show faults: the pretty Meg becomes discontented with the children she teaches; boyish Jo loses her temper regularly; while the golden-haired schoolgirl Amy is inclined towards affectation. However, Beth, who keeps the house is always kind and gentle. After certain happy times winning over the Laurences, dark times arrive as Marmee finds out about her husbands illness. Worse is to come as Beth contracts scarlet fever in her Samaritan efforts for a sick neighbour and becomes more or less an invalid. The novel tells of their progress into young womanhood with the additional strains of romance, Beths terminal illness, the pressures of marriage and the outside world. This is the story of their growing maturity and wisdom and the search for the contentedness of family life. It was written in 1867 and is a fictionalised biography of Alcott and her sisters. It has become a much loved classic tale and, while some of its issues seem outdated, many of the trials of the sisters are all too relevant today as evidenced by its continued following.

Scarlett for the people, my feeling is contradictory, is hate but had to admire her. She is a very individual character, the two men love her lifetime, but she did not know one. If you know her Ainslie, that she would not love him; if she understood Rhett, she would not lose him. She had been longing, she just kept pursuing his dream of the prince ashley. She is his love of the characteristics that there Ainslie, she just did a gorgeous clothes, so put on Ainslie, and then fell in love with him. The truth is, she just loved that dress.

For her, I have to admire, admire her strong, admire her dedication to the land, to admire her down before in that environment education to work in the field, regardless of the world to admire her remarks and start his own business. She lives a few soul, she is a mother. His mother is a very capable, gentle typical lady, she is the most admirable people. However, in order to save the mother was infected typhoid, died. Another, is her most loved for over ten years and Ashley. She can stand up in the face of adversity, there is a big part of the reason is that ashley. She was exceptionally dedicated to him. Another, is Melanie. In the many years of struggling together, Melanie has become an indispensable part of her life..

Also completely. Love is complete, hate of gratitude also thoroughly, revenge and thoroughly. This is when I finished reading "the tragedy of monte cristo" after the greatest feeling. China has a saying called the gentleman revenge, decade not night, revenge is also a need to recharge, not with a mind to make a move. And the count of monte cristo, is the most specific with their own actions to interpret the saying. After 14 years in the dungeon, the essence of life is to find he had loved ones, once benefactor and enemies. After confirmation of what to look for, he isnt as we see in the novel about swordsmen, go through fire and water to the benefactor fuels cloud, again at that sword stabbed to death in his enemies. He chose his own way. To had done his owners, he can everything, silently support, with a variety of ways, but never let them know that actually oneself is in for a kindness. If his gratitude was very touching, and that his revenge is so incisively and vividly, after we have a few degrees cheered a little lose.

Santiago, an old man about sixty years old, fished alone with nothing caught in eighty four days. No one would like to talk to him for his extremely bad luck except a boy who always came to help after the day and finally left to another boat under the pressure of his parents. Ignoring the contempt from the younger fishermen and sympathy from the older, on the morning of the 85th day, the old man started his fishing with determination and rowed his old boat very far in the sea where he believed there would be big fish. Fortunately the old man met with a big fish as he had wished and finally defeated the big Marlin with two days and nights struggle after overcoming great difficulties. But more unfortunately there were many sharks coming after his boat attracted by the smell of the blood of the big Marlin. After death-and-life struggle, when he finally got rid of the sharks coming after the boat, the big Marlin was bare skeleton.

The Old Man and the Sea tells a frustrated experience of the old man who fishes alone in the sea in plain languages. Through the simple lines, a “tough guy” image is shaped and heroism is praised. The whole story starts with a peaceful beginning which is some trivial of life and talking with the boy, and suddenly turns to its climax which is the dangerous fighting with the big fish and sharks alone in the sea, and ends with the old man’s return with the bare skeleton of the big Marlin. Though the boy only appears at the beginning and the ending in the novel, he plays an indispensible role, it is his inspiring and supporting that helps the old man to be “graceful under heavy pressure”.

In the book, the old man prepared his fishing properly and preciously than any other fishermen so that “Then when luck comes you are ready” as the old man thought to himself. In reality, some of us keep complaining that they are born in wrong time or good luck never knocks their doors. In fact, good luck sometimes just comes when they are not ready. Taking Newton for example, if he had not acquired a lot, millions of apples could never make him discovery the gravity. So if we just keep studying as much as we can, good luck will finally find us and a bright future is ahead of us. The old man never gives up hope. When all of people think he is doomed, he still strongly believes that he will get a big fish. And he does. So never giving up hope is very important to us. This reminded me of the sentence in Churchill’s speech “Never give up, never, never, never…”. “But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated” has always been inspiring me when I counter with some setbacks in my life. Setbacks are inevitable in pursuit of our goals, but we should never be frustrated and should be “graceful under heavy pressure” like the old man. It is his relentless pursuit that contributes to the victory.
