Dear Mr. Seaton， Thank you very much for taking me with you on that

splendid outing to London. It was the first time that I had seen the Tower or

any of the other famous sights. If Id gone alone, I couldnt have seen nearly

as much, because I wouldnt have known my way about. The weather was splendid on

that day, which I thought was rare.

I still remember some people told me that in Britain there was weather and

no climate. During the same day, it might snow in the morning, rain at noon,

shine in the afternoon and be windy before the night falls. So I think I was

lucky.

I think the river trip was the best thing of all. London really came alive

for me as we saw it from the Thames during that wonderful journey down to

Greenwich. It was all tremendously exciting - a day that I shall never

forget.

since last summer, i have written to my pen pal, seda, who lives in turkey.

i became acquainted with her when i went to england for a study tour.

we stayed with the same family, and she was my roommate and classmate as

well. sometimes we went to the movies together after dinner. seda is very easy

to get along with. i will always remember the two weeks i spent with her. we

didnt forget each other and kept writing to each other after we returned home.

although i havent seen her again since i left england, i still know how she is

through letters, cards and photographs. seda tells me her secrets and also

shares her happiness and sadness with me . both of us hope that we will meet

each other somewhere one day.

maybe ill go to turkey to visit her, or shell come to taiwan to visit

me.

成吉思汗

Genghis Khan, "Khan of Khans", was the great leader of Mongolians. At the

end of 12th century, he united Mongolian tribes and challenged other powers to

expand his huge Mongolian empire, which extended from South China to the Caspian

Sea.

In 1277, Khan attacked the West Xia Kingdom (presently Ningxia) and

encountered strong resistance. He died of disease and age. The great emperor was

later buried secretly according to Mongolian custom. It says that after the

burial 2,000 men were slaughtered by some 800 soldiers who were in turn executed

so that the location of the real tomb remains a secret.

There are four sacrifice ceremonies held annually to commemorate the great

hero and leader of the Mongolian people. The ceremony, held on March 21st on

lunar calendar, is the grandest. After the ceremony, horse racing, archery and

wrestling are held as entertainment.

to share my ideas about my hometown with you all.

A culture creats a city, the water and soil bring up the people. At the

foot of Erlang mountain, in the middle of Sichuan province, lies a small town

named Tian Quan. I am proud to say: it is my hometown.

Wherever I go, Tian Quan stays in my deep memory forever. I can not forget

the place where I was born and grow up, I can not forget the place where

surrounded by green mountains and water, I can not forget the good and honest

people who working hard in there, I can not forget every river, every street

there.

Standing at the top of the WenBi mountain, you will catch a bird’s eye view

of the whole Tian Quan. You will find it is a beautiful picture including the

mordern colour and old smell.

Looking at the lovly provious animals , such as panda, Takin, Golden

monkey. You will thinks the nature has special power to make life so

wonderful.

My hometown has a long history of culture. There is the

tea-horse-accient-way, which attracts Chinese and foreign tourists to visit .

Walking on the tea-horse-accient-way, you can’t help sign in regret how long our

culture is!

Tian Quan is also famous for it’s culture of tea. In summer , the farmers

work on the tea plantations, you will regard it as a lively picture. If you have

a chance to work on the tea plantations, you can’t miss it! You can enjoy the

tea and learn more about tea at the same time .How wonderful it is!

I want to say a song for my hometown, but I don’t know what kinds of music

is fit for her, I want to write a poem for her, but I don’t know what words can

describe her.

It was a long four years. Even after I had actually graduated, the

nightmares began to haunt me, the university would call to say I hadn’t truly

graduated. There had been a mistake and there was just one more class I needed

to take. I was always so relieved to wake up and realize that it had only been a

bad dream. In reality, I had completed every course needed for my degree, and I

was a full-fledged college graduate!

Now, the rest of my life loomed ahead of me. Sometimes a bachelor’s degree

prepares you for a specific occupation——you train to be an accountant, you

graduate and get a position in an accounting firm. Often, however, your stint in

college only prepares you to make further decisions regarding your future.

You’re pretty sure what you don’t want to do!

During my senior year of college, I had toyed with the idea of changing my

major. At that point, I had finally discovered what captured my heart. But,

wanting to finally be finishing school was a stronger pull. So, I took a few

courses in physiology and exercise science, but not enough to receive a degree

in physical therapy. That would require advanced schooling, beyond my bachelor’s

degree——and I just wasn’tready to tackle that. Having completed my B.C. degree,

I didn’t have any intentions of furthering my education.

So, I did the safe thing and got an office job——the very thing I was sure

that I didn’t want to do! I detested the office policies, the suits I had to

wear and the downtown environment that I had to drive to every day. I knew this

was not where I belonged.

But god knew what path my career was to follow. A position opened up at the

most exclusive health club in our city, so I applied. This was my kind of

environment——an active, vibrant kind of place——completely at the opposite end of

the spectrum from the office environment where I found myself. The position

required that I work Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Perfect, I thought! I

could keep my office job Monday through Friday and work at my dream job on the

weekends. This arrangement lasted several months until, eventually, a full-time

position opened up and I was able to resign from my office job.

Over the next few years, I worked my way up the leader, gaining experience

in several different departments. I found my niche as the director of member

services——catering to our clientele and providing them with numerous

cutting-edge programs. I would have stayed at that job forever——it seemed to be

the pinnacle of all my dreams fulfilled. Here were fellow employees who had a

passion for the same things that I did——health and fitness. Yet again, god had

other plans for my life.Within two years, a newer, bigger, better and more

state-of-the-art health club facility was built——just five miles down the road.

And, in turn, the owner lost many members to that club. And, in turn, the owner

lost thousands of dollars. One by one we were each laid off.

After trying unsuccessfully to land another similar position elsewhere, I

knew what I had to do. Go back to school!thanks!

The lucky-number has become increasingly popular in daily life of modern

sociality. For example, the number eight means big money which people like most,

while the number four means death.

Some people believe lucky numbers so deeply that they will afford a

telephone with numbers without four and others which is bad in their mind. They

argue that the lucky-number really can bring good luck, and, at least, no

evidence testifies they can not.

As far as I am concerned, there is no such relationship between the numbers

and lucky, for the reason that numbers their self are given certain meaning for

the purpose of application of mathematic. And, in addition, man should not

depend on lucky which, in their mind, the numbers gives them.

my father is a nice man. he likes to play computer games. he is

an owner of a factory which produces many things .he is good at designing. he

works very hard. i love him very much because, sometimes, i can help him to do

something in his factory .he is always on business trips because he has his

business everywhere so it takes up too much of his time .therefore, he doesn’t

have any time to play with me but i don’t blame him for that. i often spend a

lot of my time on the computer, so i have something to do. my mother is usually

on the phone and tells my father to get home early but my father doesn’t listen

to her. so my mother and i sometimes are upset and i don’t like my father in a

sense that he always gets home late.i love my father but not his

When the summer holiday came， my cousin and I went to Huamei International

Schooland joined the English and Art Camp.

The camp lasted for three weeks. We had many interesting activities. I
