Dear Sir,

I am highly disappointed in the proposed 2004-05 budget cuts to educa1ion. Taking away basic aid status and slashing our school budgets is a recipe for educational disaster in our school. The future lies with our children. They must have access to high quality educa1ion.

My husband and I have worked hard to be able to live in a school district that provides high quality education for our children. Cutting funding in districts like ours will have a negative impact on property values.

The school that my daughter attends is hardly wha1 I would describe as a "rich" school. Parents are asked to pay for books for all the classes, science supplies and for their students to participate in the performing arts among other items. If our school is to remain a world leader in technological development, cutting our school funds is the worst possible choice to make.

Education funds should not be diverted away from education.

my father is a nice man. he likes to play computer games. he is an owner

of a factory which produces many things .he is good at designing. he works very

hard. i love him very much because, sometimes, i can help him to do something in

his factory .he is always on business trips because he has his business

One afternoon an old woman was crossing the street with a basket in her

Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study in Britain for two years.

I enclose a detailed curriculum vitae and an offprint of my article, together with two letters of recommendation from Dr. Li Ming and Dr. Ma Li.

Ali Baba quickly got as many bags of gold as his mules could carry, and

then put them in the sack; after that he placed the wood upon the gold so firmly

measure, Cassim’s wife came out and said, “Sister, we have lots of measures; you

are welcome to borrow any one of them.” And then she went to the basement, and

got a bag of measure, and then Ali Baba’s wife picked one and went back to her

house. When she approached, she knelt down and began to measure. After a short

time, she went to Cassim’s house again to return the measure, not noticing that

one piece of gold coin stuck to the bottom of the measure. “Here you are

sister,” she said as she put the measure down, “I have finished using it.” And

then went away.

Cassim’s wife did not take long to realize the piece of pure gold coin. She

took it off and called Cassim, “Husband, I know you suspect that you are a rich

fellow; but your brother Ali Baba is ten times as rich as you, he does not count

his money; but measures them.”

Cassim looked at the gold coin and knew at once, “Ali Baba just pretended

that he was a poor fellow and borrows anything we have,” Cassim was not even

pleased at his brother’s good fortune, but was the opposite. And then Cassim led

his wife to Ali Baba’s house, “Ali Baba, tell me, where did you get all of this

good fortune.” At that moment, Ali Baba knew that the secret had been spread

though his own wife’s stupidity. “Look Ali Baba, if you don’t tell me where you

got this gold; I shall tell everybody, and not only will you get no more, but

you will have no more gold in the rest of your life! Ha!” laughed Cassim.

And so Ali Baba told him where he found the gold, and even the words he

knew of how to make the door open and shut. And so Cassim woke up early the next

morning, and took with his ten donkeys to fill the gold. He arrived at the place

where Ali Baba had told him, and pronounced these words, “Open Sesame!” the door

instantly opened wide, and inside of course; he found a chamber of pure gold,

and in it was gold.

Cassim filled as many bags of gold as he wanted. But when the robbers

arrived he was still filling. When the robbers found out, they used their swords

and soon killed him.

It is a winter day. It is cold outside. The snow falls. It covers the

ground. Snow falls for six hours. Finally it stops. He puts on his heavy jacket.

He goes outside. He builds a snowman. It is a fat snowman. It is a tall snowman.

He goes back inside.

My idol is Lu Han, he is a sunny and handsome boy with beautiful eyes and a

charming smile. Lu Han is an actor and singer. His singing is beautiful, his

dancing is cool, he can play football, so he has a lot of fans. I like his song

"medal" best, which gives people courage and strength. I will always support

him. Who is your idol?

On the top of the mountain hill lived a little boy called Marlin. He was a

jolly fellow that helped people when they were in need.

The only problem was, whenever there was somebody in need, he would give

them something to eat so as to solve their problems. The people in his country

soon became sick of this, and so wanted him to stop. But Marlin just won’t; and

went on helping and helping and helping… nobody knew when he was going to stop,

or when they were going to let him know that they didn’t want him to bother all

day. Ugh, but Marlin wouldn’t stop; all day long he helped this and that, the

problem was that people don’t want to mordacity him, and they said that he was

very kind.

One day, Marlin saw a boy crying, and said, “Hey there little one; don’t

cry, I, the super Marlin is here! And I am going to solve your problem!” “I want

a music box,” at these words, Marlin was astonished, “A-a music b-box?” “Yes,”

replied the boy jumping happily, “But my parents won’t buy me one. It is at the

shop near Sunshine school. I hope to get me one! Wahoo!” Marlin said, “I

couldn’t afford a music box! It is worth $100!”

Marlin was very sad, but also wanted to try, for he was the king of

everything, and helps save the day. He ran to his house, and counted his money,

but found out that he only had $10. He was now very, very angry. He had decided

to earn more and more money, and so to help that poor little boy. As he had

promised, he worked very hard to earn money. Although he was just a little boy,

he ought to do what he had said; for those are the rules. And when he had enough

money, he would buy the music box, and hand it to that poor boy.

Marlin did anything he could to earn money: Sweep the floor, clean his

room; grow plants, water them, and cut flowers for the house. When he had

already $90, he had decided to help other people. When it was already winter, he

took a shovel and helped his neighbors, friends to shovel snow; and they paid

him a great deal of money.

At last, Marlin had got enough money; he was so excited that he hopped here

and there ten times! Finally, he went to the store near Sunshine school, and

bought the music box, and then handed it to the same boy at his home. Marlin

soon became famous, and he was called, ‘Marlin Blavatsky.’

You know, I had planned this holiday for several years. A t last, my dream came true. You could imagine how excited I was. My mind was completely occupied with the holiday. I forgot to collect my laundry. I dont know if you can help me collect my laundry. I sent the laundry to the Johns. It is the one down the corner on St. Peters Street. You cant miss it, because the house is painted green-a big green house. I have got two pairs of trousers, three shirts, one T-shirt and a blanket. Call a taxi to send you home. I like travelling very much， this years winter vacation I went to wuxi，

Shanghai， wuzhen and zhouzhuang， really appreciate the beauty of them!

Wuzhen is the place where I was like， it is so quiet， so has the charm， let

a person fondle admiringly! It has the very big difference and zhouzhuang，

although is "small bridge， flowing water， somebody elses style， but the quiet

wuzhen is zhouzhuang not comparable! Wuzhen is not so busy， zhouzhuang so noisy，

but its style is one big scenery!

Listening to zhouzhuang singing tune， let I as if place oneself in the old

jiangnan dragon boat， a beat my heart a position. There is no noise， only the

sweet ship tune! This is shen three thousand hometown -- zhouzhuang! Beautiful

river， ancient， and with a style of old bridge， guarded the beautiful land of

Todays wuxi， let me have to admire it， though the beautiful night view

There was once a little boy that wanted to be a good captain, but he knew

that he was too poor to do that. So he made up a plan to go a world called

Penny. It was a funny name but he didn’t mind. He also thought that his family

wouldn’t let him to go on such a long trip, for Penny that world was a

hundred100 miles more away. It was a very, very long journey for a boy only 10

years old to do.

He insisted that he would go away on a night when nobody could find him, so

he set off on a day in March, 1981. He got his purse, starting his journey with

bare feet. On his way, he met a little girl wishing so much for money. He picked

up his purse, but found out that he had but only a little bit of copper coins,

which was not enough for her.

He stopped a while for about 10 days to find a job to earn money. He was

always kind, and was willing to help others when they were in need. At last he

got 100 cents which were 100 silver coins, then he sent the little girl the

coins wealthily. However, he still kept the copper coins in emergencies.

After two more days of journey, he arrived at a place where it was icy and

cold. He knew that he couldn’t make it to Penny in time, so he made a

comfortable shelter to stay in until spring. He started off in 1982. When he at

last reached Penny, he found a good job, and paid it off with the copper

coins.

He preferred the money to his whole family. He got $100 for the kind people

who helped him when he was in trouble as a return. It was good that nobody ever

questioned him where he was that whole time when he went back; but he was still

glad that he could help his family. When he recovered, he felt a little bit sad,

and lay down. The next morning when his parents came into his recovering house

to take him home to rest, they found his two hands clasped on his white covered

sheet bed, as if he had been dead.

His parents were shocked; they knew that it was the boy’s last sleep, they

cried bitterly all night long, while there was still a smile on the hero’s

face.
