These days, inNanjingcity, taking a taxi to school is getting more and more fashionable among middle-school students. Some of them are children of businessmen who are relatively well-off. But most parents must work very hard---some even have to find a second job to afford their children’s high consumption.

And then robbers hopped on their horses, and galloped away through the

Ali Baba stared at them for a long time until he couldn’t see them.

The International Childrens Day (ICD) is celebrated in numerous countries,

usually (but not always) on June 1 each year.

The ICD had its origin in the World Conference for the Wellbeing of

Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925. It is not clear as to why June 1 was

chosen as the ICD: one theory has it that the Chinese consul-general in San

Francisco (USA) gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon

Boat Festival in 1925, which happened to be on June 1 that year, and also

coincided with the conference in Geneva.

Dear Sir,

I am highly disappointed in the proposed 2004-05 budget cuts to educa1ion. Taking away basic aid status and slashing our school budgets is a recipe for educational disaster in our school. The future lies with our children. They must have access to high quality educa1ion.

My husband and I have worked hard to be able to live in a school district that provides high quality education for our children. Cutting funding in districts like ours will have a negative impact on property values.

The school that my daughter attends is hardly wha1 I would describe as a "rich" school. Parents are asked to pay for books for all the classes, science supplies and for their students to participate in the performing arts among other items. If our school is to remain a world leader in technological development, cutting our school funds is the worst possible choice to make.

Education funds should not be diverted away from education.

them!” and then the noble looked at the bowl with money and stroked his beard

while he smiled.

“The spring has come, but I can’t see anything!” these words could be so

much use, it might produce that the noble man in this story has technology,

which made the poor blind man happy.

Although this noble man which we are talking about helped the old man, but

he also remembered what the other people did. People asked him many other

questions, and the noble man of course answered them all. Some of the people in

town that didn’t want to help the blinded old man were locked up in jail for

their cruelty instead of kindness.

The moral of this story is, when you see somebody that is in need, go and

help them and you will feel better in the end.

I have a good friend, and her name is Lucy. We have known each other for

more than five years. When I am in trouble, she will be the first one to give me

a hand. I am so thankful to her. So when she feels unhappy, I will accompany

her. Lucy is a true friend. I hope our friendship can last forever.

I like animals very much. I have a dog， it’s my favorite animal. It’s

white， it looks like a snow ball. It has two big eyes and ears. But its nose and

mouth are very small. It’s very naughty.

It often stares at my food when I have a meal. When I’m home it follows me

all the time.

When I do my homework， it often sits beside quietly， but sometimes runs
