目前，大学毕业生正处在从理论到实践、从求知到创业的重要转折时期，自主创业是一项极具挑战性的社会活动，大学毕业生能否创业与其个人的各方面素质是相辅相成的，因此，大学毕业生在创业前和创业过程中要做好能力、素质、物质、精神等多方面的准备。大学毕业生创业最重要的是要调整好心态，踏踏实实地玩一个能赢的游戏，成功的创业者要富有挑战精神、自信自立、富有责任感、善于团结协作，具有风险意识，更要有承受创业失败的心理准备。其次，大学毕业生初次走进市场的浪潮中，是否能够成为弄潮的高手，关键在于大学毕业生自己所具备的知识和能力。作为创业者，应该具有扎实的专业知识、商业知识、管理知识和相关的法律知识等，必须掌握资本和财务知识，启动资金和后续资金的充沛与否是创业者成败的关键因素。最后，大学毕业生要不断完善自身综合素质，发挥个人潜力，把握商机。拿破仑有句名言：“我的之所以打胜仗，就是因为比敌人早到5分钟。”创业中抢得先机，获胜的筹码增加很多。

3、借势借力

在现实创业中，有时大学毕业生会感到势单力薄，显得有些寂寞，有些累，其实，只要向四周看看，会发现有许多的势和力还没有发挥作用呢！借势借力这一成功法则，就是说一个人要成功，必须学会运用周围环境对你有利的地方，充分调动一切有利的因素，为成功服务。在高校，每位大学毕业生要借势借力的地方可多了，如大学同学、老师、所在的院系实力、团委、就业指导服务中心等等，这些都是无形的资源。成功的人都善于借势借力，有形、无形的帮助都是缺一不可的。在革命战争时期，毛泽东领带的中国共产党提出“统一战线”，就是取得胜利的一大法宝。巧妙借“乒乓球外交”推动中美建交，堪称为公关杰作。最近，许多大学隆重举行“校庆大典”，就是借势借力，展示实力，扩大知名度和美誉度。在今天，不论是在经济领域、政治领域，还是在文化教育领域，都在想办法借势借力。在借不到的情况下，还可以“造势造力”、“小中造大”、“无中造有”，成功运用现代公共关系原理和方法。

4、借政策之风

为了鼓励大学毕业生自主创业，近几年，国务院办公厅及有关部门，制定了相关政策，以创带就，实现更多人就业。如：创业培训补贴、免费创业咨询及小额担保贷款等政策。虽然各地的政策有些差异，但主体部分相差不是很大，甚至还有更加优惠的创业政策。我们应呼吁社会对大学毕业生自主创业给予更多的支持与方便，其父母要鼓励并支持大学毕业生创业，放手让他们去实践去探索，保护他们的积极性。

在全球化日益加快、信息化日益增强的21世纪，国际竞争日益激烈，社会应当配合国家，给予大学毕业生更多的实践机会，激励大学毕业生自主创业；同时大学毕业生应当正视自身的条件，了解社会需求。创业所带来的收益特别是物质财富，极大地改善了大学毕业生的经济地位和社会地位，使他们获得了独立自主，并由此获得强烈的成就感和精神上的极大满足。
