自2004年开始，我和仁强每年9月上北京，主要就是去看杨绛，还回母校北师大去出席“钱瑗教育基金”一年一度的颁奖大会。钱瑗是钱锺书与杨绛的独生女，是我们的老师。

早在2005年4月初，杨绛在给仁强和我的信中说：“应仁强之请，我将是你们的杨绛妈妈。”当然我也明白，这是因为钱瑗的关系。杨绛思念爱女，而我们在钱瑗最困难的时候，特别是仁强，又是可以说得上话的学生兼朋友。她百岁时我也曾打电话过去，她说，你要多保重!那时，我得重病，9月依然上京，上到她二楼的家，她心疼地说，不要做了!仁强你看住他!编杂志要动很多脑子的!

而她在今年6月28日写给仁强、树西的信中说：“张瑗(仁强的女儿，那时刚去北京，看望过杨绛)说，陶然叔叔身体这会子特好。我确是不久前看见我们《文艺报》上有他的文章，好文章!”我也搞不清是什么文章了，但“好文章”之说当然只是鼓励，以前在她家闲聊时，她就笑说，以后陶然的文章，我一定要看!我想不是好不好的问题，而是一种情感在发生作用。她看到我们，便有如看到钱瑗一样。

那时我们极力鼓动，想载她到市内转一转，一起吃餐饭，告诉她现在北京城变化很大。但她总是无动于衷，淡淡地说，电视上也可以看到呀。我们以为不可能劝动她了，不料这次张瑗上京，却有本事把杨绛载走。杨绛在信中说：“张瑗颇有本领，干一行，擅长一行。她开车稳稳地，我坐了很放心。”看得出她很喜欢张瑗，除她个性可爱之外，当然这也是因她父母而起的移情作用吧!

2008年10月24日，杨绛给我和仁强写信说，“接到《香港文学》，特厚，打开一看，里面多了一本《城市文艺》，我老记着钱瑗的话，‘以后要留心陶然的文章’，所以两本刊物上的大文，都一一看了，真是上苍默佑，陶然当《香港文学》的总编，支持下来了。文章篇篇好，《城市文艺》的一篇(指我在该刊写的记仁强的《岁月悠悠，也匆匆》，文内有提及我们的老师钱瑗)，尤令人神往。你们两位真是善人，瑗瑗最可怜的时候，得到你俩同情，帮她抵御了所有凌辱她的人。我在王德一(钱瑗的丈夫)去世十天之后，就要下放干校，钱先生早已下干校，家里剩了她一人。她知道妈妈心痛她，不放心，反来安慰我说：‘妈妈，你放心，有人同情我。’你们的同情，她终身不忘。你们两个善人有善缘，也结成了终身的好友;我也由你们一念之仁，和你们都成了好友。所以我把《岁月悠悠，也匆匆》细细读了两遍，不胜感动。”

认识名人——孟浩然

孟浩然(689-740)，男，汉族，唐代诗人。本名孟名浩，襄州襄阳(今湖北襄阳)人，世称“孟襄阳”。浩然少好节义，喜济人患难，工于诗。年四十游京师，唐玄宗诏咏其诗，至“不才明主弃”之语，玄宗谓：“卿自不求职，朕未尝弃卿，奈何诬我?”因放还。未仕，后隐居鹿门山，著诗二百余首。因他未曾入仕，又被称为“孟山人”。以写水田园诗为主，与另一位山水田园诗人王维合称为“王孟”。
