other athletes, because she worn scarf and was from Afghanistan. She lagged much

behind other athletes, but she still got the intense applause. She showed to the

world that Afghan women could join this big event. Her insistence helped her to

come to the world stage.

With the development of economy, there are more and more vehicles on the

streets. Governments at all levels have to do something to solve the problem of

heavy traffic in the city.

I would like to share with you some ideas about this problem: firstly, the

government should build more roads. This action can decrease the degree of

street congestion and make it possible for cars to run faster than ever before.

But each coin has two sides. If a city builds too many roads, the streets will

occupy much land. We will have little space used for other purposes. So

secondly, more special bus lines for public transportation should be added. Thus

people can go conveniently everywhere they like; they will not ride bikes or

drive cars. In this way, the number of cars and bikes on the road will be

greatly cut down.

As far as I am concerned, if we want to solve this problem, we should set

up an idea of public transportation first and give a priority to this idea in

our traffic work.

不好，后面的队员一个又一个地追了上来，啦啦队的同学都激动地站了起来，挥动着手，拼命地喊着："韩霞，加油！坚持到底就是胜利！"她的步伐加快了。离终点还有五十米，二十米，十米……到了最后的时刻，有的同学紧张地挥动着拳头，只见韩霞在最后关头，使出了全身的力气，像拧足了发条一样，拼命向前跑。终于到了终点，她来了个"猛虎捕食"，一跃而就，夺得了第1名。同学们都为她欢呼，为她的坚强的毅力而鼓掌。

我参加了60米短跑赛，嘿！短跑是我的强项，在预赛我简直是张飞吃豆芽——小菜一碟。"下面是初二女子组60米的决赛，9号、11号……""耶！"我简直欣喜若狂，预赛拿了第一名，要做决赛的准备了！现在只等着决赛为学校争光了！我们都在起跑线上，我抬头一看，同学们默默地祈祷着，盼望着。我竖起耳朵，等待着枪响。"砰！"，枪响了，我们猛地飞奔起来。同学们都在为我加油，鼓励我，支持我，我不能辜负他们，便加快了脚步，冲上了第2个，"加油啊！加油啊！你是最棒的，你会赢的！"5米，4米，3米，2米，1米，到达终点了！"跑得不错！"老师夸奖道，同学也对我竖起了大拇指。

比赛圆满结束了，我们班取得了第2名的好成绩，与第1名仅相差几分而与冠军擦肩而过。

不管如何，在运动会中我们都收获颇多，并一直相信只要有付出就有收获，我会一直坚持体育这种不断拼搏顽强向上的精神的！

Salaries should reflect people’s dedication and job responsibilities.

However, sports figures, who don’t benefit the community in general, earn

millions of dollars each. In my opinion this is wrong. Things should be done to

change this situation.

If we take the example of a sport star such as Tyson, it is hard for us to

say in what way he benefits the society. In fact, his disobeying game rules sets

a bad example for young people, and his abandoned behavior encourages people to

experiment with sex and violence. Besides, his job does not require special

skills or years of training and education. Although he can entertain and excite

audience, I do not think he is justified to receive so much money and his job

can be considered essential.

On the other hand, most people in ‘ordinary’ professions like nurses,

doctors and teachers earn only a small fraction of the income of these “stars”.

However, if we give a careful look at these professions, we will find that they

not only require special skills and years of education but also help the people

and the whole society. For instance, teachers disseminate knowledge to the

society; doctors and nurses give patients good medical care and prolong their

life. They are much more useful, and actually more essential to society than

sports personalities. Without these ‘ordinary’ professions, our society would

stop progressing. Their salaries should relate to skill, education or the value

of the inpidual to society.

Things should be done to make salaries fairer. Huge amounts of money shall

be given to more deserving people. It seems that the only solution is to impose

heavy taxes upon people who earn excessively high salaries.

One way to get around in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai is to take a

taxi, but it’s too expensive. Many people like to go out by subway or light

rail. They are very fast and convenient. Now they are becoming more and more

popular. Buses are cheap, but they are very slow in rush hours.

If you want to see a city well, you can go out by bike. However, most

people prefer to get around in a downtown area on foot, because it’s good for

health.

Every time when summer comes, I am so looking forward to summer vacation, because I can make many plans in the long vacation. Last summer, I spent a month to stay with my uncle and his family.

They live in the north. When I got there, I found the weather there was not that hot and I liked the coolness. In the daytime, my cousin and I played on the beach, because we lived near the beach. I would paint pictures and wait for the water to wash they away. Sometimes my uncle would take his boat with us. We floated on the sea and appreciated the beautiful nature.

This is the best summer for me. I wish I could have chances to spend some time with them again. I will never forget those happy days.

I like to see swimming match so much, the players swim so fast just like the fish. Recently, a boy named Ning Zetao is so hot, he won the men’s 50meter and 100meter in swimming, what’s more, he breaks the Asian record. He is very famous now, people call him the new flying fish in Asia. As it is known to all that Chinese athletes are not good at short distance in swimming, but now Ning opens the new chapter, he proves that Chinese athletes can swim fast.

I believe in the future, Ning will do better.

In spite of the flood disaster, a good harvest is still in sight.

Yesterday we went to a nearby village to help the peasants get in the crops. We left our school early in the morning. It took us half an hour to reach the village. As soon as we got there, we joined the peasants in their harvesting work. They taught us how to cut rice, and how to tie it. It was in the fields that we had our lunch. After lunch, we had a short rest. We were fascinated by the beautiful scenery of the countryside. It got dark when we returned home. We were very tired, but we felt very happy.

All over the world millions of people take part in different kinds of sports. Sports are perhaps the most popular form of relaxation that almost all can enjoy.

Some people seem to think that sports and games are unimportant things that people do at times when they are not working. But in fact sports and games can be of great value, especially to people who work with their brains most of the day. They should not be treated only as ammusements.

Sports and games build our bodies, prevent us from getting too fat, and keep us healthy. They also give us valuable practice in helping the eyes, brain and muscles to work together. In table tennis, the eyes see the ball coming, judge its speed and direction, and pass the information on to the brain. The brain has to decide what to do and sends its orders to the muscles of the arms legs and so on, so that the bah is met and hit back where the player wants it to do. All this must happen with very great speed, and only those who have had a lot of practice can do this successfully.

Sports and games are also very useful for character-training. In their lessons, boys and girls may learn about such virrues as unselfishness courage disciple and love of ones country, but what is learned in books can not have the same deep effect on a childs character as what is learned through practice. Most of students time is spent in classes, studying lessons. So what the students do in their spare time is of great importance. If each of them learns to go all out for his team and not for himself on the sports field, he will later find it natural to work for the good of society, for the good of his country.

Nowdays, with the rapid development of the road, cars have been playing an increasingly important role in our day-to-day life. It has brought a lot of benefits but has created some serious problems as well. Traffic safety as the most importent one, is closely related to everybodys business.

This phenomenon exists for a number of reasons . Some of the accidents are due to mechanical problems. As the vehicles in the road become common, the function of vehicles has improved and the speed is getting faster. However, most of them are the results of careless and reckless driving, which could not be avoided. A lot of people disregard traffic signals and rules. They drive regardless of speed limits, run through red lights, drive in the wrong direction, talk and laugh while driving, and turn at will without giving signals. They even dont slow down while approaching crossroads. So many people violate traffic regulations that we cannot put too much emphasis on the importance of traffic safety. Meanwhile, we can not ignore the fact that there are many problems existing in the design. They are all important reasons accounting for this phenomenon.

Some effective measures must be taken to slove this problem. The major cause for traffic accidents is people’s lack of safety awareness. Completing a safety driving education course is a very important way to reduce the number of traffic accidents. The key point for this issue is people’s awareness towards safety. It is a long-term goal rather than a single course for safety driving. The best way to solve the troubles is that we all abey the traffic rules. First, we cant get through red light and must observe traffic order. Secondly, tell our relatives not drive after drinking. Then, we should be care about road damage and inform relevant departments to solve the problems early. Finally, an active part in social activities, protect our order society! Another measure is improving the traffic condition by add traffic signal and other traffic safety facilities。Only when everybody takes traffic safety as their own business, can we achive safe driving and walking on road.

Sports Meeting

When autumn comes, I feel so excited, because the sports meeting comes. I like sports so much. When I was very small, my father took me to watch the basketball match, in the long time, sports have become part of my life. When I started to come to school, I join the basketball team, I had the great time to practice with my friends. Though high school life is very busy and I have to learn so many subjects, I still keep taking exercise everyday. Sports meeting time is my favorite time in the semester. I can take part in many activities, such as basketball and high jump. I am full of energy, I just want to enjoy the moment of taking exercise. I like badminton very much. Because playing badminton have many advantages. It is lots of fun and players with even a moderate amount of skill can jump right in and enjoy not only the social aspects of team play but also the fantastic health benefits of a great cardiovascular workout. Exception, it can let us keep healthy; it can let us be feeling exciting, it can let us be happier; it can let us be flexible; it can let us increase stamina, attention and action ability; it can cultivate volition; it can let us get them out of trouble; and it is a very good way to keep fit and from which I gain a large amount of fun. Additionally, Badminton is a physical demanding game, and it is mentally challenging as well. In mixed doubles, teamwork is the key in forming a formidable partnership.

I play badminton. I think it is a great sport that makes you meet loads of new people and enjoy yourself at the same time, and it’s good for my eyes、feet and body.

运动能够增进健康，提高生命质量。有了健康的身体，工作、学习，一切才有保障。我爱运动。
