Thanks for your last letter. Im so glad that you have been able (at last! ) to arrange a holiday in Australia. As I fear I wont be able to meet you at the airport when you arrive, nor will I be able to be home until later in the afternoon, so here are some instructions and suggestions.

There is a bus from the airport to the city. It is much cheaper than a cab. Take the bus to the city and ask to get off at Town Hall railway station.

To get to my place in the eastern suburbs you have three options. You can either take a cab, a bus or the train. I suggest you take the train, since the airport bus will leave you right at the station. Get off at Cliff Station. From there you can either walk to my place (about ten minutes) or take a taxi. Probably you should take a taxi as you will have luggage.

When you arrive at my flat, ring the intercom for Flat 2. My friend Lillian will be at home and she will open the front door for you and let you into my flat.

Presumably you will be tired and want to sleep. But if you feel like some exercise after that long flight, you could stroll down to Cooper Park, which is only ten minutes away ? you can see it from the window.

Halloween

Halloween is an autumn holiday that Americans celebrate every year. It means "holy evening," and it comes every October 31, the evening before All Saints Day. However, it is not really a church holiday, it is a holiday for children mainly.

Every autumn, when the vegetables are ready to eat, children pick large orange pumpkins. Then they cut faces in the pumpkins and put a burning candle inside. It looks as if there were a person looking out of the pumpkin! These lights are called jack-o-lanterns, which means "Jack of the lantern".

The children also put on strange masks and frightening costumes every Halloween. Some children paint their faces to look like monsters. Then they carry boxes or bags from house to house. Every time they come to a new house, they say,"Trick or treat! Money or eat!" The grown-ups put treat-money or candy in their bags.

在这天，全国人民都放假了。尽管有些人们因工作的确太忙而不能为祖国妈妈庆祝了，但我依旧相信身存异地的他们，在心中，依旧是深深地爱这祖国妈妈的。他们同样会以心中的满腔热血表示对祖国的敬爱。

很多人们疑惑不解：为什么要好好学习呢?我可以肯定地告诉他们，学生们好好学习是要报答我们的祖国。祖国妈妈为我们无私奉献，难道我们不应该回报她吗?

国庆节这天，人们会举办许多晚会。晚会大多是以伟大的祖国妈妈为题的，这也是那写艺人们对祖国所做的贡献啊!

国庆节虽然没有中秋节。春节那么热闹，但它更表示的是我们炎黄子孙的爱国之心。

望祖国妈妈繁荣兴盛，望中国人民安居乐业!

来自四方的宾客们，我的家乡交城它有着悠久的历史与灿烂的文化，它依山傍水，人杰地灵。家乡有许多优美的宝地，现在我就带领大家参观我们的佛教圣地——卦山，以及气势磅礴的交城水。 guests from the Quartet, my hometown Jiaotong City has a long history and brilliant culture. 来到卦山脚下，抬头仰望，巍峨的卦山高高耸立。俗话说的好山不在高，有仙则灵：水不在深，有龙则灵。因菩萨常常显灵于卦山，以至卦山常年炉烟缭绕，香火不断。沿着山中的小石径走上山顶，四周种满了长青的松柏。山顶有一座神庙，前来上香的人络绎不绝。此刻再换环顾四周，滚滚的交城水奔腾而去，在阳光的抚摸下折射出丝丝光芒，如同千万条游动的金蛇飞舞，面对着此情此景，难道你不感到一点陶醉吗?

“孤帆远影碧空尽，唯见长江天际流。”不正是此景的特殊写照吗?可以想象诗人当时的愉悦与自豪，面对这祖国的大好河山的如痴如醉之情。

游完卦山后的我们感到十分疲倦，宁静的夜色也刚刚莅临，华灯初放的卦山显得气势辉煌。

现在我们将划动的一叶扁舟观赏我们交城的母亲河——交城水。

月光笼罩下的交城水显得格外优雅而宁静。透过平静的水面还可以看的水底的鹅卵石。群星照耀下的垂柳和星光下盛开的花朵交相呼应～～，一会儿刮起了微风，河水开始撞击着岸底的卵石，“叮咚“作响，宛如珍珠坠入玉盘，又似身着白衣的少女拔弄着琴弦，奇幻无穷。

这时你漫步在河边，定会被这迷人的交城水所陶醉。交城水给你的第一感觉：一定是如入蓬莱。

卦山时交城人的骄傲。交城如果没有卦山定会失去一半的秀色。

交城的山美，水美，人更美，明朝更比今朝美。五湖四海的宾客们欢迎您到我的家乡来，交城人民时刻张开双臂欢迎着您的到来!

说起家乡的变化，人们都会说一些家乡有了新的变化。如；从住平房变化成住楼房，从经济不富裕变成了有自己的私家车，等等……我却不说家乡好的变化，而是说家乡不好的变化。

我的家乡在锡盟，听说以前是：“天苍苍，野茫茫，风吹草地见牛羊。”可是自从建了许多工厂后，每天都会排出废气，许多人乱砍乱伐，风沙经常光顾这里，黄沙漫天飞。于是美丽的锡林郭勒大草原不再美丽，只有许多的工厂了。这就是我的家乡的变化大家知道了吧。

也许，以后大家再多载一些树多种一些草，不久的将来它又会成为美丽的大草原。乱伐木的人们请你们醒醒吧！

弹指一挥间，二十年过去了。由于我是一名科学家，一直在美国夜以继日地做实验，已经很久很久没有回过我的家乡了。今天我刚完成了一项重要的科研任务，上级领导批准我休假一周，我想正好趁这个机会回家看看。于是我就驾驶着我最新发明的时光穿梭机回到了我日思夜想的家乡。

家乡变了，到处焕然一新，和以前大不相同。老人开着“飞行天车”，年轻人载着“云中船”，连小孩子也驾着“蒸汽宝马”，可是您不用为之担心，这个“蒸汽宝马”和以前的宝马车可不能相提并论，它自身装有识别危险的高级系统，再遇到危险时会自行停下，而且它是蒸汽汽车，毫无污染。

一走进百花盛开，鸟语花香的大门，爷爷奶奶正坐在我发明的“太阳伞”下，戴着墨镜，听着摇滚，沐浴阳光，享受生活。虽然他们已经白发苍苍，可是他们那“追求时尚，赶潮流”的心却不减当年啊!爸爸妈妈也载着“云中船”在湛蓝湛蓝的天空中与蓝天白云对话，与风儿雨儿畅谈人生!

为了一家人相亲相爱的团聚在一起，我请了我的家人在五星级大酒店里吃“月球菜”，每种饭菜都来自月球，都是绿色无污染的食品，而且营养价值超高!我们一家人围坐在一起，一边吃饭一边谈笑风生……

快乐的时光总是那么地短暂，一周的时间就像流星雨一般稍纵即逝，我不得不告别我美丽的家乡，乘着时光穿梭机回到了美国，投入到我火热的工作之中!

在回去的路上，我心中竟充益着无限的感慨：啊!二十年后的家乡真是日新月异，天差地别啊!我默默地对自己说：加倍努力，相信在不久的将来，家乡一定会变得更加美丽，更加神奇
