Dear Sir,

I would like to apply for the post of Works Manager, which was advertised in The Guardian of I2 October 2004. I feel that my qualifications and experience are ideally suited for the position.

I was born in 1968, and I went to school from 1973 to 1988. In 1987 I took the General Certificate of Education, and I got good grades in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. After leaving school, I attended the Orient Technical College, where I first studied Fiber Technology and Color Chemistry; later I studied other subjects related to textile manufacture, and in 1991 I obtained the Diploma in Textiles.

After completing my studies, I joined the Top Clothing Company where I worked until 1996. In that year I moved to Prior Productions, who was pleased with my work, and as a result, in 1998, I was promoted to Assistant Works Manager there.

I enjoy my work, and I am prepared to work hard. Moreover, I am sure that Prior Productions would give me an excellent reference. I therefore feel that my application deserves your serious consideration.

The summer vacation is coming. I will do my homework first so I am going to

do my homework every morning. In the afternoon， I will play basketball and table

tennis with my friends. In the evening I will read English and listen to English

program. Sometimes I will go and visit my grandparents and help them do some

housework. I am going to take a piano class. My parents and I will go to Hainan

for about a week. I believe I will have a busy and interesting summer

vacation.

暑假即将到来.首先我要做好我的功课，所以我要每一天早上做功课.下午，我将我的朋友们一齐玩篮球和乒乓球.在晚上，我会读英语，听英语课程.有时我会去访问我的祖父母和帮忙他们做一些家务.我要带一个钢琴班.我的父母和我将前往海南为一个星期左右.我相信我将有一个忙碌而搞笑的暑假.

Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a

book, whose pages are infinite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve

always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to

be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap

a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.

We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. To

answer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youth

is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter of rosy cheeks,

red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshness of the

deep spring of life.

We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can go

better itself. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. From the

past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt that

we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesn’t

mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way.

Failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.

we do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what we

亲爱的朋友们，欢迎来到庄里镇谷张村，我是今天的小导游，大家可以叫我小鹿。

首先向大家介绍一下柿子园。里面的柿子红彤彤的，远远望去，树枝上像挂满了一个个红色的小灯笼，美丽极了。

接着我要向大家介绍的是花椒树。花椒树上全身是刺，每年暑假都是花椒成熟期。放眼望去，一颗颗花椒粒像一颗颗小小的红色珍珠。这时村民就站在炎炎烈日下，辛辛苦苦地把花椒从树上摘下来。虽然很辛苦，但从他们脸上也能看到丰收的喜悦。

最后，我重点向大家介绍一下我们家的核桃树。远远望去，你们会把核桃树和树叶都分不清。为什么呢?那是因为核桃外面裹着一层绿色的皮。剥开之后，会看见棕色的核桃壳。核桃壳非常坚硬，只有用石头砸才能打开，然后里面的果肉便露了出来。吃一口特别的香甜，而且越吃越香，不知不觉就吃了好多。吃饱了就打个饱嗝。嘴巴里还喷出核桃的香味。

好了，这些都是谷张村的特色，非常感谢大家能来我的家乡参观，期待你们的再次光临。

我的家乡是个美丽富饶的地方。一想起我的家乡——福建，就使我心花怒放，心久久不能平静。家乡存储了我天真烂漫的童年。那里的一草一木，一山一石是我最好的朋友。 春天，小溪里的水融化了，那叮叮咚咚的流水声像一首悠悠的小令，非常动听。一群群的鸟儿从南方飞回来了。鸟儿站在树枝上唱着美妙动听的乐曲。燕子在屋檐下建起它们温馨的小屋。花儿竞相开放。家乡的春天就像一幅幅美丽的图画。 夏天，家乡开始热闹起来了。知了在树干上叽叽喳喳的叫着，好像在说：“热死了！热死了！”鱼儿在自由自在的游来游去，快活极了。高大的树长得葱葱茏茏，就像草原上的哨兵一样。溪边，小朋友们在欢快的玩耍，有的在游泳，有的在打水仗，有的在洗衣服。

秋天的天是那么蓝，那么高，田野里一派丰收的景象;果园里，各种各样的水果让人垂涎三尺，农民伯伯怀着喜悦的心情，都在收割呢！动物们正在准备过冬的粮食呢!青蛙正在修筑它那温暖的小窝。大雁排成人字行的队伍向南方飞去。

冬天，家乡下起了霜，花草树木都皮上了一层厚厚的冰。动物们在家舒舒服服地过冬呢！小朋友们被冻得更加来劲了，大家站在河面上欢快的溜着冰，有的甚至吃着在花儿上结的冰块，大家玩得非常开心。

家乡存储了我快乐的时光，给我留下了深刻的印象。家乡的美丽风景给我们带来欢乐。每次想的家乡，我就不禁想起童年在家乡过的快乐时光。这样美丽的家乡，难道不使我去爱它吗？

光阴似箭，日月如梭。一转眼就过去了20年。我怀着无比激动的心情回到了阔别已久的家乡——南日岛。

“哇!”这是一个原来经济落后的海岛吗?根本让人不能想，经济都是高度发展啊。

看!一座座高楼大厦拔地而起，让人数也数不尽。房前屋后，绿树繁花，花儿争奇斗艳，十里飘香。路旁一条条公路都是水泥做的，而且有十个车道呢，非常宽阔，路面上全部一尘不染。环保型的轿车来来往往，川流不息，也不会塞车。路旁的花草树木在向路人问好。一架架车子中有一种是手表型的车，它在空中飞，自动驾驶，自动刹车。

以前，路是土路，马路上是汽车，排放的尾气让人受不了。路边有许多垃圾死角，十分钟发出的臭气令人作呕。现在的车都是太阳能的，是在天空悬浮的车，非常环保。路灯十分亮，十分美，一盏盏桔黄的灯光美丽动人。

晚上，机器人把家先打扫得十分干净、华丽。让你住进家里，享受着神仙一般的待遇。

20年后的家乡，让我感到骄傲。

雨，是个常见的自然景物，雨衣爷爷呢，他，就是为我们风吹挡雨的——好爷爷。他，为人们服务。今天，他就为特殊的人服务——那就是我和妈妈，特殊吧，嘻嘻，我和妈妈开始，可以挡过一阵，后来，雨加速了，又迎来了大大的风;呼呼呼呼……刚开始，是小雨，滴滴嗒嗒，小雨依然下着，好像在说;哈哈哈，我又来到人间啦，嘻嘻。呜，一阵风把它们刮得老大，这回，逼我和妈妈拿出——雨衣爷爷，来挡雨，噢，no，雨衣爷爷也挡不住，自己被风刮来刮去，似乎在说;哎哟，我的老骨头，孩子，我坚持不住啦。就这样，伴随风，回到家，脚淋湿了。

家乡的龙泉湖，真是一个美丽可爱的地方，欢迎远方客人的到来!

我曾听爷爷讲起过他们过去的生活情形。我像听神话一样，简直不敢相信他所描述的一切。自从爷爷提出改革开放政策以来，我国的经济得到了突飞猛进的发展，人们的生活有了翻天覆地的变化。

以前，人们吃不饱，穿不暖。人们天不亮就起床，每天面朝黄土背朝天在地里干活，却无法改变饥寒交迫的命运。有多少人冻死、饿死。可如今，单单就老年人来说，他们每天不仅享受着儿女们无微不至的照顾，而且回家还为他们提供各种生活补贴和娱乐场所。每天清晨或黄昏，他们成群结群队在公园里唱歌、跳舞，过着充实而又快乐的生活，年轻人的生活更是五彩缤纷，幸福甜蜜。如今，我们使用的高科技的玩具真叫五花八门，眼花缭乱。比如电脑、自行车、滑板，溜冰鞋等等，数不胜数。小型玩具那就更多了，家里到处可见，随手可拿。

以前，人们衣衫褴褛，打着补丁，根本没有洗的衣服。而如今，人们一个个都穿得华贵得体，潇洒漂亮。我妈妈每次给我买衣服，总是一套套抱回家的。

乡村、街道、建筑全都变了。以前的乡村，到处都是泥泞不堪的小路，现在全是焕然一新的宽阔平坦的水泥路，以前老土的吊脚楼变成了小洋房。街道上歪七倒八的低矮的瓦房换成了整齐的金碧辉煌的高楼大厦；以前昏暗的煤油灯变成了明亮的节能灯；以前的人力车变成了小轿车……

我爸爸小的时候，每天上学要走三十多里路，一不小心，就会踩到稀泥里。学校建筑全是泥瓦房，只有一层楼，教室的地面也是坑坑洼洼的，连书桌都放不稳，要用石头塞。而如今呢，我们坐在宽敞明亮的的教室里，油光滑亮的书桌还可以上锁，电视、电脑设备齐全，课本是精装彩本，连用的笔都是水晶的。

啊！一切都变了！

我们生活在幸福的蜜罐里，我们被保护在花园里，我的生活充满朝气与阳光，我们的祖国在发展，在变化，在腾飞！

Every time when summer comes, I am so looking forward to summer vacation, because I can make many plans in the long vacation. Last summer, I spent a month to stay with my uncle and his family.

They live in the north. When I got there, I found the weather there was not that hot and I liked the coolness. In the daytime, my cousin and I played on the beach, because we lived near the beach. I would paint pictures and wait for the water to wash they away. Sometimes my uncle would take his boat with us. We floated on the sea and appreciated the beautiful nature.

This is the best summer for me. I wish I could have chances to spend some time with them again. I will never forget those happy days.

每当夏天来临的时候，我都很期待暑假，因为我可以在长假中制定很多计划。去年夏天，我花了一个月的时间和叔叔和他的家人住在一起。

路边，草坪里刚发芽的小草随着风儿跳起了优美的舞蹈。那些不知名的小花争奇斗艳，你看，那些小花红的似火，黄的像金，白的像雪，朵朵盛开，五彩缤纷。有几只小蜜蜂唱起了嗡嗡的歌声，好像在给随风舞动的小花小草伴奏呢!

啊!我的家乡真美呀!假如你来到我的家乡，你一定会被它的美所深深地陶醉，我爱我的家乡!

Our art teather is not too young and not too old . He has black hair two

big and black eyes ,a small nose and a big mouth . Look, he is wearing a blue

and white jacket ,a blue hat ,brown pants and a pair of old shoes. He is very

funny. He is a good art teather . We all like him .

我们的艺术老师没有很年轻，但是也不太老，他有黑色的头发，两只又大又黑的眼睛，小鼻子和大嘴巴。你看，他穿着蓝白色相间的外套，蓝色帽子，棕色的裤子和一双旧鞋子。他非常幽默。他是一个很好的艺术老师，我们都喜欢他。

The annual Lantern Festival arrived, and I came to my grandmas house with a

happy mood.

My grandmother had already prepared the lantern for me and my sister, and I

was a smiling piggy, with a lovely appearance and a little belly. Sisters is a

small dragonfly, its wings are like real, able to move back and forth. Before

dinner, grandma asked me and my sister to shine a lantern on the granary and

corner, and grandma said that the place would not be a worm in the four

seasons.

After dinner, we again outside fireworks, daddy is holding a big fireworks,

in the middle of the yard, a ignition, scratching, see flames, the fireworks

into a golden ball, flying in all directions, so beautiful, my sister and I the

excited jumped down.

How happy I was on the fifteenth day of the first month!

一年一度的元宵节到了，我怀着愉快的情绪来到奶奶家。

奶奶早已给我和姐姐准备好的灯笼，我的是一只笑眯眯的小猪，它的样貌十分可爱，还带着一个小肚兜。姐姐的是一只小蜻蜓，它的翅膀像真的一样，能够来回扇动。晚饭前，奶奶让我和姐姐用灯笼照一下粮仓和墙角等地方，奶奶说这样照过了的地方一年四季就不会生虫了。

晚饭过后，我们又到屋外放烟花，爸爸抱出一个很大的烟花，放在院子中间，一点火，噼里啪啦，只见火光冲天，烟花变成了一个个金黄色的小圆球，飞向四面八方，真漂亮，我和姐姐激动的又蹦又跳。

今年的正月十五我过得真快乐呀!

I do not like teamwork in most time. Because I think it is hard for the

whole team to hold the same view. It is a waste of time to argue with each other

then make a compromise. But recently I have really seen the great power of

teamwork.

Last week we had a play competition. Because of some reasons, we had not

decided the play two days before the competition. Our monitor called the actors

and actresses who had been decided together. Then they think about every plot

together. To my surprise, it seemed that everybody had his or her good idea.

They gave up their weekend to practice the play. Finally our team won good marks

and were given the opportunity to participate in the final competition.

Teamwork is really powerful. No matter learning in school or working in the

future, we have to work in a team sometimes. So, try to establish the spirit of

teamwork. It will surely help you achieve success.

话说得好，“大人望种田，小孩望过年”。这知话说得一点儿也不错，没有一个小孩会不喜欢过年。“爆竹声中一岁除，春风送暖入屠苏。千门万户瞳瞳日，总把新桃换旧符。”在鞭炮声中我们迎来了一年一度的春节。在春节时，我们小孩子都会早早地起床，然后去跟大人们拜年，最后当然是拿着压岁钱一蹦三丈高地满载而归喽。都说“姑娘爱花，小子要炮”。可我却喜欢拿压岁钱买炮放。被王大婶见了，她惊奇地说：“你真是个假小子呀！”我笑着答道：“可我就是喜欢放炮呀！”我走到大街上，看见家家户户都把屋子装扮得喜气洋洋的，到处洋溢着喜庆的味道。

到了大年十五更是热闹。听妈妈说，十五晚上，要偷青。我心中暗喜：嘿嘿，终于要到我“齐天大圣”大显神通的时候了。我信心十足地向爸爸妈妈夸下海口说：“你们就等着我凯旋归来吧！”妈妈说：“那就看你的表现了。”于是，一整天我都盼望着晚上的到来。终于到了晚上，我迫不及待地拿着一个大口袋和一把手电筒就出去了。到了田里后，我正要打开手电筒，可是怕被发现，所以就乱抓一通。直到把口袋装满为止，我才恋恋不舍地回去了。回到家后我以迅雷不及掩耳之势得意扬扬地跑到爸爸妈妈面前炫耀起来。可当我打开口袋的时候，脸“唰”地一下就红了。这是为什么呢？原来我抓了一大口袋的青草回家。爸爸妈妈哈哈大笑起来，我更羞愧了。妈妈笑着说：“这些草还是拿来喂喂家里的小兔子吧！”第二天出门时听见李叔叔在和大家说他地里的草“神秘失踪”了！我笑了笑，又边放炮边走开了。一眨眼，春节就结束了。大家又都该干什么干什么了。怎么样，我们家乡的春节很有趣、很好玩吧！

我是一个非常懒的人，就喜欢待在房子里。但是妈妈非让我去外面看看大自然的景色，我很不情愿。在我仔细的观察大自然时，我我发现了家乡的独特之美。 I am a very lazy person who likes to stay in the house.But my mother had to let me go outside to see the scenery of nature, I was reluctant.When I carefully observed nature, I found the unique beauty of my hometown.

春天，小草和小花们赶忙从土里探出头来，就像发现了外面新鲜的事物。在我家对面是一条小河，我喜欢在睡觉时听着雪融化的声音入睡，它就宛如一个沙漏一样，我睡了，它的水声也没了，我要上学，它也用“沙沙”的声音来叫我，我非常喜欢在这个季节里观察小蝴蝶，这让我知道了蝴蝶是怎么从毛毛虫蜕变长大的。

夏天是我最喜欢的一个季节了，因为要放假了，虽然天气很热，但是还能吃上哈尔滨的特色马迭尔冰棍儿。每天晚上我都要去夜市，夜市里人山人海，非常热闹，各种各样的小吃让你直流口水，烤冷面、烤肉串、锅包肉这时如果你要来到中央大街，你第一个看见的，那也许就是啤酒节了，人们你一杯我一杯，还有的人在尽情地载歌载舞，一个一个的节目，真是让人快乐!

秋天，大树开始掉头发啦，那金黄色的落叶，好像漫天飞舞的蝴蝶!果园里的瓜果成熟了，红彤彤的苹果，黄澄澄的橙子，紫盈盈的葡萄真是应有尽有。果园里。那水果的香味，沁人心脾。如果要是在果园里亲自来摘水果，那时吃到的水果一定是最好吃的。你听，小鸟在果园里叽叽喳喳地叫着，好像在唱一首秋收交响曲。

冬天树的头发已经掉光，妈妈终于带我来到了期盼已久的冰雪大世界。那里的雕塑形态各异，非常形象。那飞舞的雪花，就像一个个跳舞的小精灵，从天降落。看!孩子们正在堆雪人，打雪仗。人们走在白色的地毯上发出“”咯吱咯吱”的声音，冬季交响曲就这样开始啦!

这就是我的家乡，一年四季都有令人着迷的风景。

在浙江的西南地区，有一座古老而美丽的城市。那里空气清新，景色迷人，是旅游休闲的好去处，那就是我的家乡——丽水。 In the southwest of Zhejiang, there is an ancient and beautiful city.The air is fresh and the scenery is charming. It is a good place for tourism and leisure, that is my hometown -Lishui.

我们的丽水四面环山，树木郁郁葱葱，一条清澈的河流横穿丽水城，那是我们的母亲河——瓯江。瓯江两岸有许多美丽的地方，古堰画乡就是其中的一个。

听到古堰画乡，你一定会想到那是一个古老的地方。古老的街，古老的亭，大大小小的古民房和古樟树，形成了一幅自然古朴的江南古镇的美丽景色。

到了古堰画乡，首先看到的是一条古香古色的街道，一座座古老的民房整齐地排列在街道两旁。沿着古街慢慢往前走，你仿佛觉得自己回到了那古老的时代。继续向前走，一棵遮天蔽日的大樟树出现在你的视线中，那是一棵已有1200多年历史的古樟树。那茂密的枝条，粗壮的树干，翠绿的叶子，处处在向游人展示他的古老和顽强的生命力。

古樟树的边上就是瓯江，水清澈见底，江面宽阔而平静，犹如一块透明的大玻璃。江边是用大大小小石头砌成的大码头，码头上停靠着几艘古色古香的游船。远处的江面上漂着几艘捕鱼的帆船，它们时而飞速前进，时而减速慢行，有时停在江面上一动不动。它们的影子倒影在江面上，这就是瓯江帆影，也是古堰画乡一道美丽的风景线。

古堰画乡的岸边是成片的樟树林，那儿是白鹭喜爱的栖息地。每到春天，成群结队的白鹭飞来这里安家。早晨，白鹭从树叶从中飞出，有的停在树梢上，有的在空中欢快地飞来飞去，还有的紧贴着水面疾飞，溅起一道道波纹。这些白鹭是古堰画乡春天特有的美丽景色。

古堰画乡又是一个的攝影基地，每年都吸引成千上萬的攝影家和攝影愛好者前来采风摄影。这里还有的“丽水巴比松”画派和专业美术写生创作基地“在水一方写生创作中心”。在古堰画乡还有不少画室，一路上你会看到一些写生创作的画家，他们都是被这儿美丽景色吸引来的。

我的家乡还有许多和古堰画乡一样美丽的地方，我热爱我的家乡。我相信，如果你来丽水旅游过，你一定会和我一样喜爱她的。

ways to avoid or settle their stress.However, is stress a bad thing? As far as I

am concerned, everything has two coins, and we also need to realize it from two

aspects.

For one thing, stress is a kind of mental burden caused by nervousness or

anxiety. In modern society, stress is mostly caused by the high requirements or

heavy burden from surroundings or us, such as stress from peers or stress in

economy. If we cannot handle the stress well, we would be easy to be in a

negative mood and lost our motivation and courage to keep going or struggle with

difficulties. In this aspect, stress is a threat for our body and mental.

However, for another, stress can also be changed into a kind of motivation

if we handle it well. For example, when you find that you are surpassed by your

classmates in an examination, you feel stressful but at the same time, you also

tell yourself that you need to work harder to surpass him next time. Under this

stress, you will find yourself have more motivation and energy to study. In this

my holiday was very wonderful.and it was very busy. in the morning.i went to the park with my parents.im very happy. at noon.i went to the restaurant with my parents. the food was very delicious. in the evening.i was watch tv.then i did my homework.last,i went to bed at10 oclock.

oh! it was winter holiday. i was very happy. i read my favourite books. i have many wonderful books. but i could not read these books too much. i also had a lot of homework to do. i like playing computer games, too. it”s very interesting. but i could not play it too much. i wear glasses, i”m very sad. it”s not good for my eyes to play computer games too much.

oh! it was the spring festival. it”s chinese traditional festival. people were very happy. they went shopping, cleaned their houses, had supper together......i went to my grandparents” home with my parents. my grandparents were very happy to see us. they prepared many kinds of nice food, such as fish, meat, vegetables and fruit. in the evening, we watched tv and lighted fireworks. we also knocked on people”s doors and gave some presents to them. after the spring festival, we went to shanghai to go shopping. we bought clothes, shoes and some delicious food.

i had a good holiday, i think. i also have very nice school life now.

Almost every child will complain about their parents sometimes. It is

natural, because when people stay together for a long time, they will start to

have argument. But ignore about the unhappy time, our parents love us all the

time. No matter what happen to us, they will stand by our sides. We should be

grateful to them and try to understand them.

I want to be a famous reporter when I grow up,because reporter is really

funny and can travel around world.

I feel like traveling to Hawaii,but it will need a lot of money,and if I

become a famous reporter I dont need a lot of money!
