Saving Water

The world is not only hungry,but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earths surface is covered with water. But about 97% of this huge amount is sea water, or salt water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -- the fresh water that comes from rivers, lakes,underground, and other sources. And we cannot even use all of that, because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers. Even worse, some of it has been polluted.

However, as things stand today, this small amount of fresh water, which is constantly being replaced by rainfall, is still enough for us. But our need for water is increasing rapidly-- almost day by day. Only if we take steps to deal with this problem now can we avoid a severe worldwide water shortage later on. 玄武灵台，这座拥有着七百多年历史的建筑依傍在悠悠的海池河畔，河堤边有一条长长的小道。还记得去年春天，同样是走在这条小道上，身边绿树如烟，低头俯看河水，水里有一个和堤上一样的空间，同样，画中画里，也有一个小人，在寻觅春迹还在回忆着，乍听到一支二胡曲儿，隐约还有个声音夹含在其中唱戏曲，大家终于找到了声音的来源——海光楼。大家爬上不高的青灰的两层楼，便到了。此刻，楼上聚集着许多老人，他们或则演奏乐曲，或则上中间唱上一段，或则坐在门槛儿边的小凳上，好不乐乎，看得到，他们的笑容似菊花般绽开，真的美极了！老人们辛苦了大半辈子，到了老年时段，再慢慢享受，慢慢回味，总给人一种舒适之感不仅利于老人，连孩子们，中年人，哪怕是小猫小狗之类的宠物都爱上了这个迷人的地方。古朴的玄武灵台，亘古不变的不是外表的庄严，而是亲近，融洽与和谐多样的兴化，多彩的兴化，多味的兴化，却总是爱你，兴化！
