听爷爷说，家乡以前很穷，但改革开放后科学技术的普及，再加上党的惠农政策多，家乡如今也富裕了漂亮别致的楼房取代了祖辈代代传的破旧瓦房，宽阔平坦的水泥路取代了泥泞不堪的乡间小路行走在小城，随处可见绿树红花相互辉映的生态景观、休闲广场，连着翠绿的群山，和着淙淙流水的声音，构成了一道道亮丽多彩的风景线，真不愧是人间仙境啊!

看!美丽的凤山脚下，蜿蜒的湖头溪与龙潭溪两水合一，水面自然展阔，激流扬波，呈“S”形自西而东奔流，若白色的游龙环城骧伏腾跃，非常好看，人们形象地取名为“大龙湖”。最有特色的是：我县领导在规划建设两岸防洪堤时，别出心裁地在两岸花岗岩护栏上，精选了先秦以来七千多首古诗词，镌刻成全国独一无二的“十里诗廊”景观，让游客们陶醉在美妙的诗意之中，流连忘返。

站在岸边放眼望去，只见湖面水光潋滟，碧波百顷，两岸风光，青山叠翠，如诗如画，让县城像传说中的蓬莱仙景一样，充满诗情画意

如今，一座“宜居、宜业、宜商、宜游”的现代山水茶乡已经在悄悄地崛起，宛如镶嵌在“海西”版图上的一颗璀璨明珠，闪耀在福建的东南。平坦的大道、高高的楼群、来往的车流、红艳艳的刺桐花，还有绿油油的山峦，汇成了一副多姿多彩的自然画卷
