When I was a little girl, I love reading comic books. When I m getting old, I love fiction very much. I have so much fun from reading them. My favorite fiction is Pride and Prejudice. It not only provides knowledge, but also teaches us the right attitude toward life. I think reading makes my life complete. I will keep on reading. That s my favorite hobby.

兴趣爱好之我见

每个人都有自己的兴趣爱好。爱好不仅让我们的生活变得丰富多彩，也给予了我们诸多好处。爱好有助于我们在长时间的工作后得到放松，还为退休的人们提供各种各样的活动。就我妈妈来说，她最大的兴趣爱好就是晚饭之后去跳广场舞。她说，广场舞让她忘记了自己的烦恼，保持身体健康。至于我爸爸，他最喜欢看足球比赛。就我自己来说，在我所以的爱好里面，我最喜欢的就是阅读小说。当我还是个小女孩的时候，我很喜欢看动漫。长大一点的时候，我爱上了小说。看小说充满了乐趣。我最喜爱的小说是《傲慢与偏见》。它不仅教给了我很多知识，也让我对人生有了个正确的态度。阅读使我的生活变得完整，我会一直读下去，因为这是我的爱好所在。

水是我们这个世界上最常见、最美好、也是最神秘的物质。水就在我们的身边，时刻陪伴着我们;为我们的生产和生活服务。可是我们对水太不重视了，许多人毫无顾忌地浪费水，平白无故地把水弄脏，使人无法再用，造成原本不富余的这种资源更感紧缺，甚至于形成水流。

水是人类赖以生存和发展的重要资源之一，是不可缺少、不可代替的特殊资源。没有水就没有使命，就没有文明的进步、经济的发展和社会的稳定，世界上的水资源是有限的。我们要节约用水，合理利用每一滴水，使每一滴水体现出它的价值。

所谓光盘，就是吃光你盘子中的美食。这些微小事情都散发着公益爱心，在“光盘”行动中，很多盆友身体力行，吃光盘中所有食物，成为身边榜样。小编和大家共同约束：反对浪费，从我做起，光盘行动，大家行动起来!

厉行勤俭节约，反对铺张浪费。其实吃光自己盘子里的食物，不但给环境减少了污染，更体现了我们的勤俭节约，不浪费食物的传统美德。

“一粥一饭，当思来之不易;半丝半缕，恒念物力维艰。”意思是说吃每一碗粥，每一碗饭时，应该想想这碗粥里有多少人的付出，多少能源的消耗，真是来之不易;我们生活所需要的每半根丝，每半缕钱，都要常常想想其中包含几多物质能源和几多人的心血，应该好好珍惜，这句话告诫人们养成勤俭节约的美德要从日常生活、穿衣吃饭做起，不要铺张浪费。切莫把日常微小的事情看轻了，从儿不知珍惜。要知道每一件东西·的背后有多少人的辛勤付出，有多少能源的消耗;桩桩来之不易。

全世界饥饿人数超过10亿!全球平均每年饥饿死亡人数达1000万，每六秒钟就有一名儿童因饥饿而死亡!如我们每天的食物浪费5%，就可以救活400万的饥民!

文明就餐，不仅仅是个人良好素质的表现，更是一种美德的塑造。其实“光盘行动”就在我们身边，如果你看、寻找就能发现!让我们致力于“光盘行动”中吧!节约食物，珍惜食物。从自己做起，从身边做起，从现在做起，让我们共同创造文明社会。

Times flys. My summer holiday is coming to theend. My holiday is just so so. It is not too much difference as before. At thebiginning of the vacation, I was doing my homework.

Travel may also relieve person of boredom and gloom. Travel brings you enjoyment and attraction. Travelers can choose different modes of transportation which have advantages and disadvantages. Airplanes are the fastest but also the most expensive. Buses and trains are less expensive, but they soon make you feel cramped and uncomfortable. Ships provide you with comfort unless you get seasick. Most people can afford traveling by bicycle, which, although slow, can limber up your muscles and get you closer to nature.

一天，一个贫穷的小男孩为了攒够学费正挨家挨户地推销商品。饥寒交迫的他摸遍全身，却只有一角钱。于是他决定向下一户人家讨口饭吃。

however, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. she thought he looked hungry so she brought him a large glass of milk. he drank it slowly, and then asked, “how much do i owe you?”

然而，当一位美丽的年轻女子打开房门的时候，这个小男孩却有点不知所措了。他没有要饭，只乞求给他一口水喝。这位女子看到他饥饿的样子，就倒了一大杯牛奶给他。男孩慢慢地喝完牛奶，问道：“我应该付多少钱?”

“you don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “mother has taught me never to accept pay for a kindness.” he said, “then i thank you from the bottom of my heart.” as howard kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but it also increased his faith in god and the human race. he was about to give up and quit before this point.

年轻女子微笑着回答：“一分钱也不用付。我妈妈教导我，施以爱心，不图回报。”男孩说：“那么，就请接受我由衷的感谢吧!”说完，霍华德-凯利就离开了这户人家。此时的他不仅自己浑身是劲儿，而且更加相信上帝和整个人类。本来，他都打算放弃了。

years later the young woman became critically ill. the local doctors were baffled. they finally sent her to the big city, where specialists can be called in to study her rare disease. dr. howard kelly, now famous was called in for the consultation. when he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. immediately, he rose and went down through the hospital hall into her room.

数年之后，那位女子得了一种罕见的重病，当地医生对此束手无策。最后，她被转到大城市医治，由专家会诊治疗。大名鼎鼎的霍华德-凯利医生也参加了医疗方案的制定。当他听到病人来自的那个城镇的名字时，一个奇怪的念头霎时间闪过他的脑际。他马上起身直奔她的病房。

dressed in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. he recognized her at once. he went back to the consultation room and determined to do his best to save her life. from that day on, he gave special attention to her case.

身穿手术服的凯利医生来到病房，一眼就认出了恩人。回到会诊室后，他决心一定要竭尽所能来治好她的病。从那天起，他就特别关照这个对自己有恩的病人。

after a long struggle, the battle was won. dr. kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. he looked at it and then wrote something on the side. the bill was sent to her room. shewas afraid to open it because she was positive that it would take the rest of her life to pay it off. finally she looked, and the note on the side of the bill caught her attention. she read these words…

经过艰苦的努力，手术成功了。凯利医生要求把医药费通知单送到他那里，他看了一下，便在通知单的旁边签了字。当医药费通知单送到她的病房时，她不敢看。因为她确信，治病的费用将会花费她整个余生来偿还。最后，她还是鼓起勇气，翻开了医药费通知单，旁边的那行小字引起了她的注意，她不禁轻声读了出来：

“paid in full with a glass of milk.”

什么叫光盘呢?所谓光盘，就是吃“光”你“盘”子里的食物。这听起来十分简单，有人会问：“不就是吃光盘子里的食物吗，这有什么难的。”但是，在这个时代里，人们浪费已成为一种习惯。想让人们不浪费，其实要看每个人。有一句诗说的好：“谁知盘中餐，粒粒皆辛苦。”每一粒粮食都来之不易，只有吃光盘里的食物，才对得起辛勤耕作的农民。拒绝浪费，从我做起，晒出自己吃光的盘子，一起向浪费说不，争做节约达人，向舌尖上的浪费说不!”瞧，这句话说得多对。

外出就餐时，你有没有剩过饭菜或打包?相信绝大部分人都会对类似的问题不屑一顾，因为在他们看来，打包是种丢脸的行为，这早已是远离饥饿与食不果腹的年代，已不必再去对所谓的剩菜剩饭斤斤计较。而正在发起的“光盘行动”，显然是在试图提醒与告诫我们：饥饿感距离我们仍并不遥远，要知道，中国人每年在餐桌上浪费的的食物，是有些国家一两年的口粮啊。

20XX年的世界粮食日里，国家粮食局首次向全国粮食干部职工发起倡议，倡导自愿参加24小时饥饿体验活动，以更好地警醒世人“丰年不忘灾年，增产不忘节约，消费不能浪费”。每个人当然不必都去重新体验饥饿，但我们的确要找回一种对于粮食的温暖与敬意。
