Thank you for a rapid response to our invitation. Enclosed you will find an outline of events to take place during International Week here at the University of Montana. I will also list a number of possible speaking engagements so that you can choose those things in which you are most interested. As far as topics are concerned, the topics for classroom visits are generally determined by the professor, but most professors are very flexible. We have approximately thirty-five faculty members that teach courses in Asian Studies, ranging from language and culture to history and economics.

10 am - Cultural Exhibition opens

12 am - International Festival begins with a speech by the university president and an introduction of visiting dignitaries

1-5 pm - Opportunity to visit festival, interact with student performers, taste foods

6 pm - Dinner with Director of Mansfield Center Phil West, Ambassador Mark Johnson, and staff of Mansfield Center

我最喜欢过春节了，因为平时爸爸妈妈和姑姑都上班，所以只有到过年的时候我们家里才是人最齐，也是最热闹的时候了。

记得春节，我们一家人忙着蒸馒头、炸丸子、贴春联、挂灯笼，可开心了!最难忘的就是全家人过年一起包饺子了。奶奶说：“开始包饺子了!”我和妹妹就赶紧洗干净手，开开心心的跑到厨房去抢擀面杖。因为我们两个人最喜欢擀饺子皮了，最后我决定自己用大擀面杖，妹妹用小擀面杖。我们俩擀的可快了，还能一次擀两个饺子皮呢，奶奶、妈妈和姑姑包都包不完，直夸我们俩真能干。

接着就是包钱饺子的时候了。奶奶把一个硬币洗的干干净净的准备包到饺子里，对我们说：“谁吃到钱饺子就是有福气，来年的好运都会到来。”我连忙说：“既然是好福气，那我们为什么不多包一些钱饺子，每人都能吃到那该多好呀!”最后我和妹妹都提议要多包几个钱饺子，奶奶拗不过我们，最终还是答应了。饺子包好了，锅也开了，爷爷负责煮饺子，爸爸赶快拿出大大的鞭炮摆放在院子里，一边煮饺子一边听着噼里啪啦的鞭炮声，我和妹妹高兴的手舞足蹈。饺子煮好了，我们一边看着春节晚会一边吃年夜饭，最后我们每个人都吃到了钱饺子，真是开心极了!

过年了！不，更确切地说是过年到了。每当到了这个时候，家里便变得热闹起来。大人们忙着准备年夜饭；小孩甭提多高兴了，兴奋得连蹦带跳，脸上永远荡漾着快乐的笑意。

在我的印象中，过年总是在无比快乐的气氛中度过的，同时总会发生许许多多的高兴事。除夕夜那令人垂涎欲滴的丰盛的大餐；五彩缤纷的烟花在空中尽情绽放；荷包鼓鼓的压岁钱……

家乡的一年里有许多难忘的传统节日，如：春节、元宵节、清明节、端午节、中秋节、重阳节······但我最难忘得还是春节。

早晨，我推开门就看到一片红的海洋：红色的对联、红色的灯笼、还有我最喜欢的——红包。吃完早饭，爸爸妈妈带着我去走亲戚，我给长辈们拜年，爷爷奶奶们笑得合不拢嘴，给了我压岁钱，这让我也非常高兴。走完亲戚时已是中午，我们回到了家，还没坐下，就听见敲门声，我打开门一看，原来是在远方的姑姑坐火车回来了，现在一家都团圆了。开始准备午饭，一家人开始忙碌起来，姑姑洗菜，妈妈切菜，奶奶和面，爸爸和姑父忙着烧火，弟弟跑前跑后的拿柴火，不一会儿就变成了“小黑人”，一家人看见后笑得前仰后合。

开始包饺子了，看着忙碌的家人，我想起小时候和妈妈一起玩橡皮泥，妈妈做饺子皮，我做饺子馅，感觉很容易就做出了许许多多小巧玲珑的“饺子”，可实际做起来，才发现并不那么容易。我试着擀饺子皮，可我怎么也擀不圆，擀着擀着就成了长方形，实在没有办法，凑合着把肉馅包了进去，放在桌子上饺子歪歪扭扭躺在那里，虽然好可笑，但这是我的作品，我心里很高兴。等着爸爸把香喷喷的饺子端过来，那阵阵香气扑面而来，我忍不住用手捏起一个饺子，当香浓的汁液在我的口腔内流淌时，“嗯，真好吃！”我们全家人吃的津津有味，我想这就是过年的味道。

春节的气氛越来越浓了，我看见家家户户都开始了贴对联；于是耐不住骨子里的兴奋因子，便嚷着要和妈妈一起去挑对联。

来到了书店街，大街两旁买对联，买对联，买对联的人山人海；小摊整齐的摆着红艳艳的对联；我拉着妈妈，看得眼花缭乱。“妈妈！我们赶快买吧，要不就被别人买光了！”妈妈笑着说：“傻瓜！这么多对联摊，不会被人买光的。再说，买对联也要仔细挑挑，这叫门当户对。”“门当户对？”我对妈妈的话有点儿丈二和尚——摸不着头脑，可是我并没有再追问，生怕妈妈又说我在犯傻；我紧紧的跟着妈妈来到一个小摊上，妈妈指着一副对联嘴里念叨着：“‘车行万里路，人播四美风；一路顺风！’这副对联是卖给开车的，开车人买去，希望能平安开车。”“有道理，有道理！”我开始理解这门当户对的含义了，便点了点头。这时，我看到有一个人买了一幅对联。只见上面写的是：“笑尝葡萄一窝蜜（上联），喜吃甘蔗两头甜；生意兴隆（横批）。我猜想，这户人家应该是做水果生意的吧。看来对联能够反映人们的希望和职业，以及对祖国的祝福和欣喜之情。对联可真有意思！怪不得妈妈说买对联要门当户对。

我们还没有找到合适的对联，只好换了一摊往前走，。这时我看见一个对联摊上金光闪闪，原来其中有一副对联是用金粉书写的。我定睛一看：“人入虎年增虎劲，添春色发春辉门；如虎添翼。”我想大概这是对自己家一种美好的期望，于是便买下了这副对联。

回到家后，我把这幅精心挑选的对联工工整整的贴在门口。这时，我仿佛看到对联上的每一个字都放射出耀眼的金光。在热闹的爆竹声中，我们和对联一起迎接新的一年的到来。

我的故乡有许多传统的节日，最有趣的就是春节。

按照故乡的习俗，春节从腊月二十三就开始了。腊月二十三被故乡人称为小年，这天，人们就开始打扫卫生，把房间的里里外外都打扫得干干净净，还要杀羊杀猪用来祭灶。从这天起，人们就开始办年货了：买对联、买糖果……有些人家还要炸油果子。

到了除夕就更热闹了，家家都在包饺子，到处都是酒肉的香味。男女老少都穿上了漂亮的新衣服，门上都贴上了红红的对联。这一天，出门在外的人都要赶回家团员。到了晚上，鞭炮声彻夜不绝，人们还要看春节联欢晚会，吃年夜饭。

从大年初一到初十，是人们走亲访友的好日子。人们都要相互拜年，祝福亲朋好友来年快乐平安。家里来了客人，大人们都要拿出好吃的东西来接待客人，小孩子们也很开心，因为他们可以收到压岁钱。

到了元宵节的时候，处处张灯结彩，整条大街灯火通明，有鱼灯、有福娃灯、有火箭灯……人们都从四面八方来涌来，围到广场上看烟花，各种各样的烟花将夜空装扮的更加绚丽多彩。

过了正月十六，春节就结束了，人们又开始了忙碌的生活。

Everybody will meet all kinds of difficulties during their lives, of

course, they are willing to accept success, but the fact is that no one can win

all the time, they will meet failure now and then. Fail is an unpleasant thing

to face, people treat fail a bad thing. While for me, I think we can learn from

failure and be a better man.

Everyone is afraid of facing failure, because failure brings them the sense

of frustration. When facing failure, people choose to avoiding talking about it,

they feel that they will be looked down upon by others. Indeed, no one likes to

failure anything, they want to be successful all the time.

If people change their idea about failure, they can see the positive side.

There is an old saying that failure is the mother of success, which means that

people will learn from failure and make preparation for the success. So failure

is not that hard to face, if people take right attitude towards it, they will

As is known to us all, teachers play an important role in our process of

growing up. As far as I am concerned, an ideal teacher should be responsible,

impartial and wise.

First of all, a qualified teacher should be responsible. For one thing, he

should try his best to make his class interesting and try to understand what his

students need. For another, he needs to keep enthusiastic with his job of spread

knowledge all the time and act as an example for others everywhere he goes

to.

Second, be impartial is another requirement. As a teacher, he should not

divide students into good ones and bad ones since each student has unique

characteristic and value. Therefore, no matter what kind of students he

encounters, he should treat them impartially, without any bias.

Finally, my ideal teacher is one who does not only teach students his

specialized knowledge but also can give students some guidance about life and

To sum up, an ideal teacher should not only pay attention to the

achievements his students get, but also put emphasis on developing students’

correct views on life and sense of worth.

我们到了外婆家的时候是白天，所以我还可以放鞭炮。我先去叫我弟弟来跟我一起去买炮，我们身上每人有50块钱，我们到旁边的小卖部去买炮，我们买了：摔炮、冲天炮、地雷炮、花炮……，我和弟弟先放地雷炮，这种炮得要埋在土里才能放，埋在土里之后，还得要找块石头在这个炮的上面敲三下，然后，敲完了，还必须得要数十秒才会爆炸，这种炮最适合炸牛粪。

这时，外婆出来了，她叫我们来吃蛋炒饭，这是我的最爱，我哗哗两口就把两碗蛋炒饭给吃完了，然后我还要了碗冲蛋，这也是我的最爱，吃完了晚饭，我就去看电视，电视的剧情好好玩啊，看完了电视，我们去看舅舅放大炮，就是可以有五颜六色的炮，我们还看到了一种很特别的炮，就是可以连环炸的，还有颜色可以变换，这种炮一个要500块钱，我们买了一箱，那就是10000块钱，好贵哟，但是，一个炮可以炸10下，炮也不响，所以就很贵。

然后，我放了“淋雨”。它放出来的火焰是银色的，很美丽。因为有风吹着，所以火力摆来摆去，让人看花了眼。可是，我看见有一只老鼠从“淋雨”边冲过，应该想快速躲过“淋雨”的火力，不让它伤害自己的一根毫毛，这样才叫“安全”。

端午节最不可少的，自然是粽子，每年端午节外婆和大家都会包上几百个大粽子呢!包粽子虽然有很多种，比如芦苇叶、竹笋叶、菰叶、藕叶等。但我们的家乡是芦苇比较多，所以大多都用芦苇叶包了。首先，外婆“率兵”去采芦苇叶。采芦苇叶时，一大家子听着外婆的劳动号子：“加油!一个粽子三片叶子!上百个粽子几千片，嘿哟，加油!”听了“将军”的鼓劲，“小兵”们更加卖力了!采完芦苇叶，现在只要将它们暴晒就行了。但准备材料可没有这么简单哟，还得去集市上买来上好的红豆、猪肉、花生、板粟、蜜枣与糯米，还要买红线呢!

当然，最好玩的时候还是包粽子的时候。包粽子时，男人负责把肉切成不大不小的块儿;女人负责洗红豆、糯米之类的;小孩负责把大盆洗干净，再把大人加工好的东西装在大盆里;而老人们则负责指挥。一切准备好之后，就开始包粽子了。大人们干得格外卖力，而小孩们呢?却在一旁玩着，总是在大人们不注意时，偷一两颗蜜枣往嘴里塞，表面上似乎一点儿事都没做，可心里却暗暗自喜——因为蜜枣太好吃了!

最后一步就是煮粽子，烧火的外公总是把火候把握的很好，味道很香、很浓，如果在第一时间内吃粽子，你看到的肉粽子总是嫩地流油，看到的蜜枣粽子总是金黄柔嫩;看到的八宝粽子总是很可口，我们可爱吃了。

去年，要不是为了去盐城替舅舅、舅妈照顾表哥，外公外婆可能在包粽子哩。我突然有些“厌恶”舅舅、舅妈，他们家的经济条件不错，为什么不找个保姆?把我的欢乐端午节和粽子都“夺走了”，我好生气呀!也好怀念那味香色美的粽子呀!

一年一度的春节又到了，我和往常一样又回到了奶奶家。

过春节总少不了看春节晚会，所以我们早早吃过了晚饭，看起了春节晚会。

春节晚会里播放着各种各样精彩的节目，我最喜欢的是杂技表演，看的我眼花缭乱，妈妈说：”这可是台上一分钟，台下十年功。“妈妈的话启发了我：在学习上要坚持不懈。

第二天，我们一家人津津有味地吃着饺子，爷爷还给我出了一道题，有99个饺子平均分给三个人吃，要怎么分？我想了想，99个饺子先吃掉33个，再吃掉33个，最后再吃33个，刚好吃完。就说：”应该三个人各分33个饺子。“爷爷开心地笑了。

我喜欢过春节，因为可以和爷爷奶奶在一起。

一年一度的春节马上就要来到，大家都忙着贴春联，每家都是喜气洋洋的气氛，很开心。大年二十九，我刚起床，妈妈就喊着让我和姐姐贴春联，我们在大门中央贴一个大大的福字，大门两边贴春联，上联是“福中生喜年年乐”下联是“富上添财岁岁欢”横批是“新春大吉”我们很快就贴好，我看着自己的劳动成果非常开心。

除夕早晨，我们穿上新衣服，就和姐姐去放鞭炮。一阵“噼里啪啦”的声音从我们耳朵里穿过，好像要把祝福送到千家万户，我们开心极。除夕夜晚，我们吃过晚饭，我就和爸爸妈妈和姐姐一起观看春节联欢晚会。那精彩的表演让我心情豁然开朗，有相声，有小品还有歌舞……非常好看。但我最喜欢小沈阳丫蛋赵本山还有老毕演的《不差钱》太好玩。

大年初一我刚起床，就发现枕头底下有压岁钱，姐姐也有，我们开心的笑，然后我们吃完饺子，就去奶奶家拜年，拜完后，爷爷奶奶，就给我们压岁钱，还把好吃的都拿出来，给我们吃，我们都非常开心。

我喜欢过年，过年真好。

快乐的圣诞夜就要来了，我的心情十分激动，因为圣诞老人来了

早上起来看的日历今天是12月25日圣诞节，我们还是像往常一样上学，我想，圣诞节还要上学，累死人啊!没办法，只能上学了，哎外国的朋友一定放假，因为这是他们的节日，为什么，为什么，中国不放假!

我在这天晚上看到了圣诞老人，他笑着和我说，我来给你送礼物了，我收下礼物，打开一看，是一张纸，上边写着：我愿你好好学习，天天向上!不要老是想着放假!

我听到这句话，我在也不想着放假了!!谢谢你圣诞老人!

我盼望已久的春节终于到来了。每到春节全家人就会团聚在一起，特别热闹。而且，春节一到姥姥就会精心做上十几道美味佳肴，想到这我的口水就要流下来了。

春节这天我起的特别早，天还没亮，我就穿好新衣裳迎接这美好的一天。姥爷姥姥起得比我还早，厨房里是他们忙碌的身影。早饭我专门只吃了一点点，留着肚子中午吃多点。

家人都陆续赶到了，一盘盘美味端上饭桌。年饭还真是丰富，有可乐鸡翅、糖醋鱼、腰果炒肉、粉蒸肉、炸年糕、鱼丸子、清蒸鱼、凉拌紫甘蓝、油炸大虾、炸藕夹、蒸鱼糕……，摆了满满一桌子 !

吃过丰盛的中午饭，大人们又忙着做年夜饭，也许因为姥爷是南方人，所以每到年夜饭我们不仅会吃到饺子，还都会吃到大汤圆。

当春节联欢晚会进入倒计时：3、2、1……，四面八方就鞭炮齐鸣，震耳欲聋!但我听到这声音时，就无比激动：新年到了!

“爆竹声中一岁除，春风送暖入屠苏。”过年喽！过年喽！家家户户都在忙着放鞭炮，贴春联，好不热闹。

早晨，爸爸开着车，带着我们全家，一起去奶奶家。一路上，风景优美，田野里面的油菜都已经散开了绿油油的叶子，像是给大地铺上一层绿色的毯子。新的一年，新气象，新生机，小溪里的水很清澈，叮叮咚咚的声音就像一首乐曲。爸爸说：“我们无论过年还是平常都要常回家看看。不让老人孤单，要多陪他们谈谈心说说话。“

到了奶奶家，我和爸爸贴春联，奶奶和妈妈忙着做年夜饭。不一会儿功夫一桌丰盛的年夜饭已经呈现在桌上。爸爸点燃了爆竹，伴随着噼里啪啦的响声，我们全家人围坐一桌，开始享用美味的年夜饭。

“发红包喽！”爸爸妈妈先发给了爷爷奶奶并祝他们身体健康万事如意。接下来发给我和妹妹还有哥哥，并希望我们开开心心的过完每一天。

饭桌上我问爸爸为什么年夜饭要有青菜，圆子和鱼了。爸爸笑着说：“吃青菜表示一家人亲亲热热，吃圆子表示一家人团团圆圆。“没等爸爸说完我抢着说；“我知道了吃鱼就表示年年有余吧。”爸爸欣慰地笑了。

年夜饭就是一家人的欢声笑语中结束了，我帮着妈妈收拾着碗筷，洗好了碗。我们全家人围坐在一起一边嗑着瓜子看着春晚，一边听爷爷说是、小时候的故事。爷爷说：“他小时候生活可苦了，经常吃了上顿没下顿，饿了没粮食只能吃草籽。随着社会的进步和发展，家家户户都过上了幸福的生活，我们现在的生活来之不易一定要好好珍惜，不能铺张浪费。“

“滴答！滴答！滴答！“新年的钟声已经敲响了。在这辞旧迎新的时刻，看着窗外一枚枚烟花升上天空绽放出美丽的花朵，把寒冷的夜空装扮的绚丽多彩。我忽然觉得自己长大了很多，明白了很多。新年新气象我要变得更加努力更加懂事。读很多的书，学到很多的知识，让自己的生活丰富多彩。
