The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is called the "Ten-thousand-Ii Great Wall" in Chinese.In fact, its more than 6000 kilometres long. It winds its way from west to east, across deserts, over mountains, through valleys till at last it reaches the sea. It is one of the wonders of the world.

The Great Wall has a history of over twenty centuries.The first part of it was built during the Spring and Autumn Period. It was during the Qin Dynasty that the kingdom of Qin united the different parts into one empire. The Great Wall is wide enough at the top for five horses or ten men to walk side by side. Along the wall are watchtow-ers, where soldiers used to keep watch. Fires were lit on the the towers as a warning when the enemy came.

It was very difficult to build such a wall in the ancient days without any modern machines. All the work was done by hand. Thousands of men died and were buried under the wall they built. The Great Wall was made not only of stone and earth, but of the flesh and blood of millions of men.

Today the Great Wall has become a place of interest not only to the Chinese but to people from all over the world.Many of them have come to know the famous Chinese saying: "He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man."

暑假阅书数本，唯《西游记》一书另我意犹未尽，此书是我国四大名著之一，是明清时期作家吴承恩写的一部长篇小说，也是一部老少皆宜的著作。

本书主要讲了大唐盛世时期，唐僧师徒四人历经九九八十一难，前往西天取得真经普度众生的故事。下面由我大致介绍下我对师徒四人的映象：

师父叫唐僧，他因肉眼凡胎难识妖魔障眼之法，心地善良确有屡屡因心善而将自己陷入危险被动之地，幸有悟空一直不离不弃，保护左右，即使被师傅多次冤枉也不忘答应观音的承诺，护送唐僧西天取经。八戒心地不坏，但是爱耍小聪明，喜欢挑拨离间大师兄和师傅的关系，总是想着散伙回高老庄，面对美食和美女的诱惑那抵抗力为零。沙僧，就一直任劳任怨，从不惹事，但也不怕事。

这四个人物形象鲜明，每个特点都被作者表现得活灵活现，这不经让我觉得师徒四人有点像爸爸公司里的一些人，唐僧是领导者，制定目标，带领团队一直朝着定好的目标前进，永不言弃。悟空是开拓者，一直朝着领导制定的任务方向走，排除万难，达成目标。八戒就是团队中的活跃气氛的鲶鱼人物，爱搞笑，容易被诱惑，爱打退堂鼓。沙僧是执行者，多做少言，勤勤恳恳，尽己力帮助团队达成目标。

从唐僧师徒四人一路披荆斩棘、风雨无阻的取经历程中，我明白了只有坚持不懈，顽强不屈的为梦想而努力奋斗，才能有希望获得成功。虽然这只是个神话，但我们在生活和学习中也需要拥有故事中人物坚贞不屈的品质，把锲而不舍的精神体现在一点一滴的生活中，做好每一件事，朝着自己既定的目标一往无前地奋勇迈进!
