Making Every Day Earth Day

Now the earth is in bad condition. For example, in some places, the air and water pollution is so serious that it causes many deaths. At the same time, many animals and plants are in danger because of the destruction of their habitats.

Luckily, we human beings have realized the problem. On April 22nd, millions of people across the world do something good for the earth. Some clean up beaches and water, some pick up rubbish, others give speeches to call on more people to take action. But can we save the earth only by one day’s work? The future of our planet depends on our efforts. What we should do is to make every day Earth Day. Only by taking good care of it every day can we hope to live in harmony with nature.

As a sophomore, I am feeling the time flies. Recalling about the past one year, so many thoughts are flooding in my mind. At this time, I just can’t tell my real idea. The memory is just like so fresh, and all the things happened yesterday!

When first day I came to University, I really feel that the school is very good, but at the first sight of the dormitory, something disappointing come up to me! Just spending about 2 days here, we were on our way to military train. To us, it’s a fresh train and a kind of experience to know the life between the classmates. But to me, I was nervous but excited. This was my first and precious train life because before going to school I have been staying with my family. So, you know, it’s just this kind of feeling I can’t convey it clearly! The train life is impressive on everybody; we had a lot of activities, for example giving a speech on a stage or singing together or playing basketball. At that time, I felt myself so little among them. All of them have a special talent but not me. I admired them but meanwhile jealousy. Why don’t I have this kind of talent? Am I stupid? I always said to myself. So that time I was also very ambitious, just eager to catch up with them. Except the classmates, the trainer in our team also left a deep impression on me! He was not very handsome and very kind. Just because of his kindness results in my laughter when training. He always said to me that I should be serious in the team but I didn’t listen to him. So after a long time, when investigating the training result, I gave them a disappointing answer. The highest trainer sent me to clean the toilet, although, it didn’t means insulting to my dignity, but I was really sad about myself and my heart was hurt. That was a small thing but told me that I need to be serious to one thing. And unhappiness passed, the happy and funny time recalled me that folding the blanket. Yeah, it’s really very funny. Most of us had never folded the blanket and naturally we can’t accomplish the task well. When the monitor came, we pleased him to help us to fold the blanket. To our expect, we managed to persuade the monitor. After the monitor finished the task for me. I dared not to touch the blanket again and just used the clothes instead of the blanket. Of course, I felt very cold in deep night, so to my instinct, I crashed into my classmate’s blanket. And we were scratching the single blanket fiercely, just like a war. The first thing I did was I made a plan for my study. I assigned my

homework equally according to the holidays so that I can finish all of them in

time. And during my winter vacation, we welcome the most important festival in

China—Spring Festival, it’s also called Chinese New Year by lots of

foreigners.

At that night, our family came together and had a big meal. Of course we

had dumplings that night, because that is our Chinese traditional. We then watch

the CCTV spring festival evening party together and watch the beautiful

fireworks. That’s the happiest time in this world! The winter vacation I had

dreamed all year around was finally coming. And I really enjoyed a lot from

it.

The first thing I did was I made a plan for my study. I assigned my

homework equally according to the holidays so that I can finish all of them in

time. I also arranged myself the books and words I need to read and recite.

Secondly, I took some extracurricular activities and read some English original

reading. My favorite book is , written by Sherlock Holmes. Among all the

classical movies, the Sound of Music was the most exciting one. During my

holidays I also made some assistance for my physical class teacher, surely I met

lots of difficulties in this stage and from which I knew what perseverance

really was. Lastly, I went to the temple fair and was lucky to taste several

Chinese traditional dishes; “Jiaohua chicken” is one of them. It is said it

originated from Hangzhou centuries ago, made by a famous beggar Hong Qi Gong,

the senior leader of Beggar Gang.Steamed with fresh lotus leaf wrapped up,it is

famous for its special aroma and taste. Now that the holiday is ending and a new

semester is coming, I need to fresh up and get started to embrace the upcoming

challenges.

Most people miss their grade school days and think they are the happiest time of their life, but whenever I recall them I cannot help feeling a little sad. In my young days I disliked any dismal atmosphere and could not bear the feeling of loneliness, yet the fact was that I often lived in a dismal home and frequently had the bitter taste of lonesomeness. I was not cheerful even in the company of my classmates at the grade school I attended. The feeling of being friendless was a constant source of pain to me. Those unhappy grade school days have of course long been over. I still have an abhorrence for any dismal atmosphere and lonesomeness, but hardened by experience I now find them less disturbing than they were.

自古就有人树远大理想，展青春风采。秦末的刘邦和项羽便是如此。秦王车队出游，豪华的马车，威风的铠甲，令人望而生畏。而刘邦去高呼：“大丈夫当如此也!”项羽呐喊：“彼可取而代之!”二人当时无权无势，却将理想立在了皇帝之位。后来，刘邦成大汉开国皇帝，项羽成千古悲壮英雄。两人一开始虽都是普通人，却能树立如此远大的理想，我们为何又不能呢?

My ideal school day starts at 8:30 a.m. It finishes at 3 p.m. so we would have a lot of time for after-school activities.

We have half an hour for lunch. We can eat anything and chat with each other. We can also listen to pop music in the hall. We eat an apple every day, because it can keep us healthy.

We have Chinese, Maths, English and physics every day, because they are useful and very important. We wear school uniforms on Monday.

My ideal school has a park on one side and a shopping mall on the other. We have a big library with a lot of useful books. We also have a swimming pool and a tennis court. We can do any activities after school or at weekends.

We only have half an hour of homework every day. We do not do homework at weekends. Every month, we go on a school trip to a museum or a theatre. In the summer time, we can go to Beijing or Shanghai. Every week, we go to Dongzhou Park or shopping malls.

During weekdays, I am busy, because I must go to school. I usually get up at 6:30 a.m.. And then I do some washing. After that, I will have my breakfast at 6:50. I usually go to school at 7:15.

Now, I can go to school and come home by myself. I have four classes in the morning and three in the afternoon. I have my lunch at home.
