Saving Water

The world is not only hungry,but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earths surface is covered with water. We all have to learn how to stop wasting our precious water. One of the first steps we should take is to develop ways of reusing it. Experiments have already been done in this field, but only on a small scale. For us, the systems are as important as the spacecraft.

今天，我做了2件好事。第一件事帮奶奶从山上打了一桶水回来。因为我知道每天都要提着四个桶上山打水，我觉得奶奶非常累，就帮奶奶提了一桶水。奶奶夸我长大了，懂事了。

Today, I did two good things. The first thing is to help grandma get a

bucket of water from the mountain. Because I know that I have to carry four

buckets of water up the mountain every day. I think grandma is very tired, so I

helped her carry a bucket of water. Grandma praised me for growing up and being

sensible.

下午，我又给妈妈一个大惊喜了。妈妈走进我的房间一看，非常惊讶，说：“你真是一个懂事的孩子。”得到了奶奶和妈妈的表扬，我非常高兴。

In

the afternoon, I gave my mother another big surprise. When my mother came into

my room, she was very surprised and said, "you are really a sensible child." I

am very happy to be praised by my grandma and

mother.

hoping to excite student interest in our reading center, i asked each teacher to write a new years resolution on a special form and send it to me.

after i posted the resolutions on the bulletin board in the reading center, one young teacher stopped by, looked at them for a few minutes, and then left abruptly. passing two teachers on their way in, she stormed, "my resolution isnt posted - and mine was one of the first ones in!" i cannt help but overhear, and the tone of her voice sent me flying to my desk in search of a misplaced resolution.

looking rapidly through stacks of papers, i uncovered hers. it read, "i resolve not to let little things upset me. "

Thuesday Nov. 16, 2016 Fine

I took my school report and came back home cautiously only to find mother wasnt at home. She went to my aunts and wou!d come back in the evcning. I knew that fiom a note on the table. I was still a little bit frightened as if mother would come back suddenly.

Seeing the low marks on the school report and remcmbering mothers cold face, I almost trembled with fear. lf mother know I got so low marks oa the subjects, especially English, she would tear all my cartoon books which are my fovourite. I have been treating them as my own life for a long time. But mother always thought cartoon diverted my attention from study and had a bad effect on me. Frankly speaking, I had realized it. Mother hated those books. She had warned me if I got low marks once more she would get rid of them. I Still wanted to keep those books even if I would mever touch them from then on. What should I do? I knew that any persuation was in vain. I would prevent mother from doing that.

A good idea stroke me. I gathered all the books and put them in a box. Then, I hid the box under my bed. Having done it carefully, I had a breathing spell.

Opening the English book, I sat at the desk and began to read. It was really the time that I learned English carefully, I thought.

This morning, my father took me to school by bike. I sat at the back of the

bike, eating a banana. After I ate it up, I threw the skin onto the street

randomly.

今天早晨，爸爸骑车带我去上学。我坐在后车座上，吃着香蕉。吃完后，我顺手将香蕉皮扔到了街上。

No sooner had I done this than I realized that I had done something bad to

our environment. And maybe someone would step on it and tumble over. I must pick

it up. Thinking of these, I asked father to stop. I jumped off the bike and ran

back to pick up the banana skin and threw it into a roadside dustbin. Seeing

this, father praised me and I felt very happy.

我马上意识到我的所作所为破坏了我们的环境，或许有人会踩在上面而跌倒，我必须把它拾起来。想到这些，我让爸爸停车。我跳下自行车，跑回去拾起香蕉皮，并扔到了路边的垃圾箱里。看到这些，爸爸表扬了我。我感到很高兴。

In future I will protect the surroundings more consciously and think more

about others.

将来我要更自觉地保护周围的环境，更多地为他人着想。
