一是人口惯性下人口总量持续增长的威胁。据预测，未来30年我国还要新增2亿人口，2033年前后达到15亿左右的人口高峰，人口总量的持续上升造成人口与资源环境的矛盾仍然突出。

二是以老龄化为特征的年龄结构失衡、以出生性别比偏高为代表的性别结构失衡，以及人口地区分布失衡等诸多人口结构性矛盾日益显现。

北京大学人口研究所教授陆杰华指出，2009年，60岁及以上的老年人口数为1.67亿，2015年将突破2亿，2053年将达到峰值4.3亿，届时，平均每10个劳动年龄人口至少扶养6名老人。

2010年7月10日，上午9:00—12:00在南大街、下午6:00—7:30社区文化大院免费开展为育龄群众生殖健康保健咨询、检查等服务。发放避孕药具和生殖健康知识宣传资料等。文艺宣传队上街进行了巡回演出(8:30—10:00)。
