Summer can be very hot in southern taibei where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky. Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words, I must find time to study, too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations. Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this. With this in mind I then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. I was not at all bored by this kind of life, for I was sustained by a hope.

I went to the supermarket the other day with 10 yuan. I was a bit hungry, so I decided to buy a small pack of cookies which cost me 4 yuan. After I ate them, I was still hungry, so I decided to buy a small bag of potato chips which cost me another 3 yuan. After I ate them both, I was no longer hungry. However, I was very thirsty and wanted to buy a large bottle of milk to drink, but I didn’t have enough money left because even a small box of milk would cost me 2 yuan and I needed 2 yuan to pay the bus fare. 我最近有点无聊，因为除了在补习班有一些朋友，我就没有其他朋友了。我之所以没有那么多的朋友，是因为我很久没出家门了。

我一上完补习班就要回家，回到家也没有人和我玩。我的姐姐要做作业，因为她读初二了，有很多作业，所以不能和我一起玩。哥哥呢？他也在补习班，要很晚才放学，他的补习班在很远的地方，走路就要走半个小时。妈妈经常在自己的房间里做别人订下的蛋糕，我最多也只能在她旁边看一看。

所以我是那么无聊，在家里只有“电视老兄”陪着我，然而有时候“电视老兄”也没有什么好看的呢。

要说暑假不用上学，应该是很好玩的，然而对于我来说，身边的人都在忙，没有人有空理我，我感到很无聊，也有点寂寞。每天在家我都是开着风扇在床上睡觉做梦，或者坐在自己房间拿起电脑，在那里玩玩游戏。

这就是我的暑假，一个很无聊的暑假，没有好朋友陪伴的暑假。

暑假到了，这一天我和爸爸、妈妈一起去游泳。我们带了游泳圈、游泳衣出发了。

到了那，里面人流如潮，因为暑假里有好多同学都想去学游泳，所以会人多。

到了游泳池边，里面像是在下水饺一样，人真的太多了！我走向下水的楼梯，一开始我站到底把眼睛闭起来，我以为我已经淹没了，没想到还能站到底，然后套上游泳圈，漂浮在水的上面，可我怎么游也游不起来。这时爸爸说：“你必须把两只手往后划，脚要在后面蹬，这样才能游起来。”于是我按照爸爸说的去做，还真的游了好远。他说：“你就这样游吧！”游了一会儿，我看见旁边有一个比我还小的小男孩，他不用游泳圈也能自由自在地游。

我就去问爸爸：“他怎么可以游得这么好呢？”爸爸说：“你想我教你游吗？”我连忙点点头。接着，他一只手托着我的肚子，另一只手托着胸口，让我浮在水面上，这时我感觉整个人好像都飘起来了一样。他说：“你要像刚才这样才行。”果真能够往前游，这时他把手一松，我整个人都沉下去了，还喝了一口水。爸爸赶紧把我拉出了水面，我恨不得要打他。他说：“我松手的时候你要不停地游。”接着我们又试了一次，还真管用。居然不用游泳圈也能游起来了，我开心极了。

其实做什么事就和学游泳一样，只要你认真、努力就行。

I went to many places, such as the beautiful Maanling Forest Park, the beautiful Longhu Mountain, and the Jinhua Double Dragon Cave that Ye Shengtao visited. But these are not the most pleasant memories of my summer vacation.

It was Saturday morning, I just woke up, saw my mother in a hurry, mouth called: Im going to be late for work, you father and son help me wash clothes! When I want to tell my mother that I cant wash, her back is far away from me. Father pretended not to hear and went on to sleep.

Finally, I had to do it. I picked up the dirty clothes reluctantly, picked up soap and brushes, and washed them impatiently. Washing, a small bubble floating from my face, flashing colorful light. I showed a smile, because I learned to wash clothes, the sun from the window, shining on my face, it seems particularly brilliant.

This is the most successful and happy summer vacation I have ever had!

趁着放暑假，我们去上海看了世博会。我们从地铁上去由6号门进去先到了B区，来观看的人真多，每个馆的门口都排着一条弯弯曲曲的长龙。我们为了去澳大利亚馆，在门外排队就用了四十多分钟，大家都热得汗流浃背，结果也没有看到树袋熊，于是就吸取了教训，只要排队时间长的，坚决不进。因为我们只有两天时间看世博，不如多看几个国家。

这两天中我们一共进了15个馆，有城市人馆，柬埔寨，澳大利亚，斯洛伐克，西班牙，中国省区市联合馆，尼泊尔，斯里兰卡，阿曼苏丹国，以色列，土库曼斯坦，印度，巴基斯坦，卡塔尔，摩洛哥王国。这些国家好多我以前都不知道，每个国家的馆里都介绍了自己国家的领导人和著名人物，有的是照片，有的是用大屏幕。好几个馆里都有高科技电影，最好看的是以色列馆，演的是他们国家可以用高科技把海水净化成饮用水，希望这是真的!最好玩的是西班牙馆，里面有一个超大的电动娃娃，他看起来就像一个娃娃巨人，坐在那里可以摇头，眨眼睛，还可以张嘴巴，他的皮肤就像真的一样，就连妈妈也认为这是最好玩的一个馆。每进一个馆就可以在世博护照上盖一个章，遗憾的是第一天去的时候，我们不知道有这个世博护照，少盖了好几个国家。

爷爷很想去中国国家馆，可是需要很早在大门口排队领预约卷，所以我们没能进去。不过妈妈说了，中国国家馆是永久性建筑，我们以后还有机会再来看，我一定要陪爷爷再来看一次!
