听爸爸说，慈城造屋风俗习惯主要体现在选址，动土，上梁这三个阶段。慈城是个风水之地，人杰地灵，商贾云集，百姓富庶。造屋的第一个阶段还是要“选址看风水”，慈城这一代的屋地基综合起来有这几个条件：地势高燥，水源有保障，采光好；不要太喧闹，从来没有闹鬼的传闻，周边没有坟墓；环境没有污染等。特别重视的人还要花钱去请风水大师，让他来看风水，当然，在选择地基的同时，还要准备好造物的材料。
