This novel gave me too much to think about and I can not fully express myself in English. It is true that reading an origin is more vivid than the translated ones. However, my English level limits me to understand the origin well without the translated. But I will work hard in order to understand better.

She thought she lost Frank forever. I cannot imagine how painful for Frank to spend dozens years in the prision. He once had good dream about his life, but he had to waste most of his life in prision. In my opinion it was Frank’s father that distoryed his life. His father didn’ t give him freedom, and Frank can’t had strong resistance spirits, and because he didn’t control himself and broke the law.The energitic Frank will never come to us, and he became a man who didn’t wanna talk. As for Meggie, I think she was a good girl. She was beautiful and smart, but she it was wrong for her to love Ralph. Meggie was an excellent girl, she was able to find an outstanding boy to love her, but she put all her love on Ralph even she married Luke. She married Luke just because Luke looked like Ralph. Meggie wanna be a thorn bird, but I think it was too cruel to her. She was so kind that she shouldn’t stand that king of pain, and I think she was born to ha一ve a happy life. I pity for her.

After they met the Wizard of Oz, the wizard gave them another challenge—to kill the bad Witch of the West and they accept. During the way to the Witch of the West’s house, they were caught by the witch and Dorothy was requested to work for her. One day, when the witch tried to catch Dorothy’s red shoes, Dorothy threw some water on the witch by accident and the Witch of the West disappeared. Only water can kill her. So Dorothy went back to the Emerald City with her friends but they found the Wizard of Oz is not a real wizard, he is also a man came from Kansas, and he is just a conjurer. 故事中的老人虽然在最后没有完胜，当他身上所体现的精神是值得我们学习的，那就是，无论在生命多么艰难的时期，我们都要勇于抗争，坚持不懈，永不放弃。就如书中老人所说的：“一个人并不是生来就要被打败的。”“人可以被毁灭，却不能被打败。”老人尽管没有打到完整的马林鱼，但他曾经为了这条鱼拼搏过，奋斗过，他的人生价值也在这一过程中充分体现了，就从这一点上看，难道他不是一个胜利者吗?我们在当今生活中也是一样，不要轻言放弃。尽管梦想似乎遥不可及，但我们为此拼搏过了，奋斗过了，到最后，就算我们没有实现它，那又如何?起码我们不会后悔。

老人是一个坚强的老人。他站在岁月的巅峰，面对贫穷的压迫，孤独的侵蚀，岁月的流逝，他并没有倒下，而是勇敢的喊站起来，与生活中的种.种困难作斗争。试问，在当今社会，又有多少人能做到这种境界呢?

老人是一个乐观的老人。当生活的贫困，寥寥无几的收获摆在他面前时，他依然能悠闲地喝着咖啡，依然能坚持劳动，依然能与他的小男孩轻松地谈论着那从前的事迹，而不是怨天尤人，自暴自弃。试问，在当今社会，又有多少人能做到这种境界呢?

老人是一个自信的老人。他不在意别人那讥讽的眼光，还将别人的嘲笑作为自己的动力，相信自己能打败黑人壮汉，相信自己能恢复曾经的辉煌，相信自己能战胜对手。试问，在当今社会，又有多少人能做到这种境界呢?

人生本来就是一个无限追求的过程，它的道路上充满了艰辛与坎坷，而且十分漫长，但我们只要勇敢顽强地以一颗自信心去挑战，我们终将成为人生的胜利者!

奶奶特别喜欢这本书，她常常给我读一段，讲解一段。渐渐地我也喜欢上这本书了。我用了很长时间仔细地读完了海明威的《老人与海》。

一位古巴老人圣地亚哥生活贫困,靠打鱼为生。这一次这位风烛残年的老人划着船出海打鱼，不顾风吹浪打在海上辛苦了84天，一条鱼都没钓到。船上已经没有食品，没有可饮用的水，老人都快饿死了，但是他仍然坚持寻找鱼。他终于在第85天钓到了一条身长18米的大鱼。老人忍着伤痛、饥渴，与海浪、海风和大鱼艰苦搏斗两天两夜，杀死了大鱼。船小鱼大。他只能把大鱼拴在船边带回家，这样又招来了许多鲨鱼，它们张着贪婪的大嘴争先恐后地把大鱼的肉吃个精光，大鱼只剩下一副鱼骨。辛苦了八十多天的老人筋疲力尽，结果却一无所获。他只好回到自己的窝棚里，从梦中寻回他往日美好的岁月。

我喜欢《老人与海》，喜欢这位老人圣地亚哥，因为他的故事告诉了我：遇到困难时要勇敢面对，不后退，坚持到底克服困难，有志者事竟成。这位老人也说过“一个人可以被毁灭，但不能被打败。”圣地亚哥就是一位打不败的老人，是一个不一般的老头儿。
