Listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987， the Palace Museum is now one of the most popular tourist attractions world wide.

Construction of the palace complex began in 1407， the 5th year of the Yongle reign of the third emperor of the Ming dynasty. It was completed fourteen years later in 1420. It was said that a million workers including one hundred thousand artisans were driven into the long-term hard labor. Stone needed was quarried from Fangshan， a suburb of Beijing. It was said a well was dug every fifty meters along the road in order to pour water onto the road in winter to slide huge stones on ice into the city. The bricks were made from white lime and glutinous rice while the cement is made from glutinous rice and egg whites. These incredible materials make the wall extraordinarily strong.

Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family， it is the dominant color in the Forbidden City. Roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow; even the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process. However， there is one exception. 刚走进动物园，几只鸽子扑哧着翅膀迎面飞来好象在欢迎我们来到生态园里的动物园。我们迫不及待地走进动物园里的表演场，我们刚进去，有一位同学像见着鬼似的指着一个笼子大叫道：“快看，那儿的笼子里有一只熊!”我看着他手指指的地方发现果真有一只大黑熊正懒洋洋地趴在笼子里，丝毫没有感觉到我们这群小小观众的到来。

请我们的黑熊冠军来给我表演走钢丝、滚圈、倒立、吊环、来快请我们的“大明星”上台,广播说!”只见一个高个子身着豹子皮的演员麻利地打开笼子让懒惰的黑熊出来，还不时的用手上的铁棍敲打着黑熊的屁股让它快点出笼子。黑熊一出来精神焕发像一个小淘气包。表演员好不容易才把黑熊赶上了表演台，又给黑熊喂了***食物。黑熊又慢悠悠地用爪子抓着一节节拦杠脚一蹬一蹬地往上爬，黑熊爬上了一个两米高的梯子上，又用那粗壮的大腿支撑着自己让自己笨拙身体直立起来，用手保持着平衡开始走钢板。黑熊看起来笨手笨脚的其实在表演的失时候一点也不马虎，我心想。

黑熊又轻轻地开始迈开一小步，又张开双手保持平衡又迈出了右脚，就这样黑熊小心翼翼地迈着每一步根本不像其它同类一样马马乎乎地，到了中间我们这群“小观众”不由自主地响起热烈掌声的，可是到了中间，黑熊却用双脚缠着铁板死死不放，又慢慢地躺下来睡觉，表演员这时见了这只好吃懒坐的黑熊马上用铁棍去顶黑熊的背部，可黑熊还是无动于衷地躺在钢板上，这时表演员着急得像热锅上的蚂蚁不知如何是好!

屋子里的播音员忙开脱说：“黑熊肯定是闲掌声太小了，大家把掌声变得更热烈一点把!只听一阵哗啦啦的掌声和铁棍的齐心协力之下黑熊站了起来。可更奇怪的事情发生了，黑熊竟然没到终点就倒退走，让大家的眼神都集中到了黑熊的身上，黑熊走到了半中间，大家给予了黑熊热烈掌声。

这次黑熊表演真让人大开眼界。
