Many of the plankton and marine resources the fish favor are slightly luminescent, especially by moonlight, making them easily seen in the darkness. This also provides cover, given the coloration of the fish—blue or grey on top, silvery white on the bottom—so that they are not easily seen from above or below as they feed on the clouds of marine flora. Flying fish generally mate during the autumn or spring, when currents are at their weakest. Females will deposit their eggs on the surface, attached to flotsam, and males will fertilize the eggs. Schools at this time can number in the millions, and constitute a major resource for species that feed on the fish. Because they only tend to live about five years in the wild, their flesh is prized for its purity—free of the heavy metals often found in longer-lived species.

飞鱼主要以浮游生物和小型海洋生物为食，主要在夜间以集群的方式进行捕食。有些人会觉得下面这个说法有悖常理，因为鱼类易被光源吸引，这么说也不无道理。许多浮游生物和鱼类自身都会发出微弱的冷光，尤其是在月光照射下，更是清晰可见。但这同时也为鱼类提供了一层防护，让它们有了保护色：一般在上部会呈现蓝色或灰色，下部呈现银白色。凭借这些保护色，当飞鱼在海底植物中进食时就很难发现它们。飞鱼通常会在春秋时节进行交配，因为这个时期洋流的活动最为和缓。雌性飞鱼会将卵产在海面上，让其依附在漂浮物上，雄性飞鱼再让鱼卵受精。此时在飞鱼的集群中，会有数以百万的成员。而这也为以鱼类为生的动物们提供了主要的食物来源。由于野生飞鱼只有5年的寿命，它们不会像长寿的鱼类一样体内留有大量重金属物质，因此飞鱼肉被人们视为珍品。

“小兔子白又白，两只耳朵竖起来”，我家的小兔子就是这样，只要听见一点轻微的声音，就会“唰”地一下竖起来，灵巧地四面转动，寻找声音发出的地方，直到声音没有了，才恢复常态。

它好像一团雪白雪白的云，但更像绿海上溅起的一朵活泼的浪花。我可喜欢它了--圆圆胖胖的，好像一枚雪球，在它的小天地中，爬来爬去。有时还摇摇它那镶着点点徘红的白色长耳朵，别提有多可爱了!它喜欢吃黄瓜，萝卜，大白菜但它还是爱吃野草，也许它依然喜欢它故乡的味道吧!小白兔的嘴是“丫”字形的，常常合不拢，露出两排碎玉似的小牙。它的眼睛是红色的，好像两颗的红宝石，一闪一闪的，漂亮极了。它的尾巴很短，活像一个小绒球球贴在屁股上，蹦跳的时候，一撅一撅的，可有意思了。

它很受我们一家的喜爱，我们经常带它到下面公园逛逛，它不急性子，总是等我们帮它选好一片有丰富青草的地方后，再慢慢的迈着它那优雅的"兔步"在哪绿色的小天空中，津津有味的品尝着我们为它精心挑选的食物。

看着小兔子那么的快乐，我们的心里更快乐!
