To begin with, modern lifestyle has contributed greatly to the increasing amount of waste and garbage we produce everyday. In other words, we have turned into a materialistic and mass-consumption society where we use more and throw away more than ever before. Thanks for your letter which finally caught up with me in London. I suppose youre keen to hear how the trip has been so far. So heres a short description of whats happened.

Well, you remember we left Sydney on Monday and arrived in London 24 hours later. After such a long and exhausting flight the first thing we did was to have a good, long sleep. And after that?a good meal to make up for all that horrible airline stuff!

The first real day of our holiday was spent just walking around London to get a feel of the place. After that, however, we were more particular and planned each day carefully.

First, we looked at all the historical sights, such as the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, the British Museum and the National Gallery. Then we visited some other famous places, such as Kew Gardens and Hampstead Heath. Finally, we took a one-day trip to Oxford, which is really the most marvelous town. You should make sure to go there when you visit England.

After we had seen a lot of London, we flew to Paris. A t first, we didnt like the place-I suppose because it was so different from London. Later, though, we began to really love it and started to appreciate its differentness.

The final stage of our trip is a visit to Rome, after which we will be staying in Singapore for two days before returning to Australia.

To get to my place in the eastern suburbs you have three options. You can either take a cab, a bus or the train. I suggest you take the train, since the airport bus will leave you right at the station. Get off at Cliff Station. From there you can either walk to my place (about ten minutes) or take a taxi. Probably you should take a taxi as you will have luggage.

When you arrive at my flat, ring the intercom for Flat 2. My friend Lillian will be at home and she will open the front door for you and let you into my flat.

大家都说，保护环境，人人有责，但在生活中，却随处可见人们破坏环境的行为。

在小区的草地上，人们根本不会在意脚下的生命，到处都有人踩踏的痕迹，草地上到处都是被人们踩成的一条条小路。耷拉在地上奄奄一息的小花小草们在哀哀的哭泣，在祈求人们，祈求人们不要再伤害它们，祈求人们放它们一条生路。 森林里，人们在到处砍伐树木，大树们纷纷抱怨，说人们是忘恩负义的动物，它们帮人们吸收二氧化碳，变成清新的氧气给他们，但人类却不断砍伐他们。森林里没有花草树木，失去了植被，生态就会被破坏，草食动物就会缺水少食乃至被饿死，肉食动物也会大幅度减少，到时候不仅仅是森林不再存在，甚至连可爱的动物也将消失。

在工厂周围，排放的废气使周围的空气恶劣，从工厂里排出的污水使河水变脏，再加上人们往河里扔垃圾、下水道里的粪便……这一切，使河水脏得简直无法形容，周围的植物也因为被河水污染，慢慢枯萎……人类正走向自我灭亡的绝路上。

大自然是我们的家园，我们应该爱护它，不是去破坏它。现在让我们行动起来，从身边的每一件小事做起，爱护大自然，让大自然变得更加美丽吧！

绍兴，一个美丽而古老的城市。素称文物之邦、鱼米之乡，素有水乡、桥乡、酒乡、书法之乡、名士之乡的美誉。绿水晶莹，石桥飞架，轻舟穿梭，绍兴更有“东方威尼斯”的美称。

绍兴是个美丽的江南小镇。小桥流水，幽雅别致，河水浅得清，清得像少女纯净的眼波；深得绿，绿得像一叠厚厚地玻璃，隐隐约给看去，远处的草坪在河中勾勒出一片绿色的美，半边躺在河底中，仿佛蓝天和碧绿的河水融为一体。晚霞布满太阳周围，阳光零零碎碎地斜射在随便风荡漾的涟漪上，仿佛河面上铺满一层闪烁的碎金。你若仔细倾听河水流淌的声音，鱼儿跳出水面的声音，风吹树叶的声音，那是多么地美妙呀！

可是，现在这种美丽和美妙已不存在了，留下的是脏乱、噪杂。河水变得浑浊不堪，上面漂浮着大袋的垃圾和各类丢弃物。。。。。河里已极少能见鱼儿的踪影，河边的柳树垂着头叹着气，河水咕咚咕咚冒着黑泡，河上一片狼籍。许多工厂无节制地随意排放污水废气，越来越多的车辆排放的有毒尾气也影响着人们的健康。自然资源无休止的被破坏，水资源、木材资源日益减少。。。。。这一系列的人为破坏必定给人们带来灾害。据资料记载：绍兴曾发生洪涝、干旱、泥石流等多种自然灾害。1961至1990年，全县发生三日过程两量≥100～300毫米，日最大雨量50～150毫米之洪涝34次，年均1次以上。其中全县性洪涝12次，占35％，不到三年发生1次，且有11次在梅雨季季节，占91.7％，其余均为局部性洪涝。1961～1990年，境内发生干旱33次，其中30天以上者各级干旱27次占82％。平均一年发生一次。18次是全县性干旱，占67％。1967年伏秋冬连旱，三江一带干旱长达133天，24.5万亩晚稻受灾。而这些灾害就是大自然对人类不爱护环境的惩罚，保护环境已经刻不容缓了。

保护环境我们应该从基础做起，要大量宣传，提高人们的觉悟和认识，加强环保意识。进行废物回收利用，减少对森林树木的砍伐，加强对白色污染的处理，少使用塑料制品，对清洁方面作改进，使市容更整洁。为了地球的明天，为了绿色的家园，我们必须从现在开始努力，好好保护环境，选择有利于保护环境的生活方式：实行垃圾的分类袋装化，变废为宝，使资源循环再生造福人类；尽量少使用一次性用品，不使用一次性塑料和餐具，减少白色污染，自备购物袋和提篮；慎用清洁剂，尽量用肥皂，减少洗涤剂中的化学物质对水的污染；不随地吐痰，不乱扔垃圾，植树造林，爱护花草。

地球只有一个，我们要善待地球，善待我们的家园，共创一个美好的生活环境。作为少先队员更应该守护在我们赖以生存的土地上，使天空更湛蓝，空气更清新，草地更翠绿，爱我绍兴，保护环境，人人有责。

[爱我绍兴保护环境小学作文

“我们只有一个地球，保护环境要从自己做起……”每当我听到这熟悉的声音，我的心底仿佛就有一个声音在呼唤：“保护环境，人人有责!”

我们的教室在第五小学四楼，是一个宽敞明亮的教室，它与其他的教室不同，它是一个电脑教室。每当我跨进这里，它的干净、宽敞、明亮就深深的吸引着我。可是，近来却发生了一些不愉快的事情，有的同学不爱护环境，老往地上扔废纸，使我们的教室变得越来越脏，越来越乱，有的同学见到脏的乱的地方也不管，教室就成了一个不雅的环境：窗台落灰没人擦，鞋柜乱了没人摆，地上有纸也不捡，黑板脏了更不擦。从此，我跨进教室的那种感觉没有了，取而代之的是肮脏、零乱，那时侯，我仿佛听到了教室在伤心地哭泣着，感觉到了它的心在隐隐作痛。我多么想让教室变回原来的样子啊!

环境是我们生活中最重要的一个因素，如果没有了环境，我们将面临的是什么?是温室效应?是肮脏?是酸雨?是黑暗?不，都不是，而是不能在地球上生存，现在回过头来想想，没有好的环境是多么的可怕!所以，我们要从自身做起，保护环境。

保护环境先要从自己做起，自己做好了以后，再去纠正别人。而且，不能乱扔废纸，随地吐痰，见到了废纸要捡起来，这样才能把我们的祖国建设得更美丽!

啊!没有良好的环境是多么可怕，所以，我要在这里告诉全世界的人们：“保护环境，人人有责!”
