The year of 2008 is getting closer and closer to us. We need to take actions from now on to prepare for the game. What we need to do most is to work on our disadvantages and shortcomings. As a student of Senior high, I can do my own part. Although I can’t transform our city into more a beautiful place on my own, I can help Beijing in small ways and encourage our classmates and people around me to follow my lead.

Let me take the environment for example, the atmosphere around Beijing is quite disappointing, factories and cars keep giving off exhausts into the air, we can hardly see the blue sky with our naked eyes, because the sky is covered with a thick layer of harmful substances. The sky is gray instead of blue. To our delight, the government has passed some laws of protecting the air, and we can do something useful, too. Another thing we need to work on is our English skills. Teachers and parents often put great emphasis on our English skills especially listening and speaking. I want to be a volunteer in 2008, to be an interpreter. For now, I must do something helpful to improve my spoken English. Rome isn’t build in a day, so is English. It can’t be improved in a day or two. It takes time and energy. There are no shortcuts to improve your spoken English; the most productive way is to grab all opportunities around you to open your mouth. For instance, taking part in all kinds of English contests is a good way, you can meet some excellent contestants, and you can share the experience of learning and some good method of learning. I will keep participating in all English activities to polish up my English. I’m sure by the year of 2008, I will be able to master English well just as my mother tongue.

All in all, I’m sure that Beijing Olympic Games will be one of the most successful Games in history. I believe our long-cherished dream will be fulfilled in a perfect way!

We are always told that time is precious so that we shall cherish it. Even

though most of us know the necessity of making use of time, when we start our

plans, we find that time is limited. Where has the time gone, we always feel

confused about it. Actually, it is the lack of efficiency that makes people feel

time is not enough. It is in need of improving efficiency. Most students cant

focus their mind on study because they think of all kinds of temptations, such

as delicious food and computer games. If they can finish task quickly, then they

can do other things. It is the motivation to improve efficiency.

I study in the No.1 PrimarySchool. Its one of the best primary schools in

my city. There are four buildings in campus.Two of them are teaching buildings.

The other two are library and gym. The teaching buildings are huge and the

reading books in the library. After class, students like playing in the gym.

Should Yuanmingyuan Be Rebuilt?

Yuanmingyuan, “Garden of all gardens”, was burnt and fell into ruins in 1860. Recently my classmates had a discussion about whether it should be rebuilt or not.

Supporters of rebuilding the garden say only by doing so can we see the original sight of the garden, which reflects the Chinese civilization. And it will be another place of interest for tourists. If partly rebuilt, it will provide a comparison and help us remember the history.

Those who disagree think it more reasonable to keep the garden like this. The ruins will remind us of the past. We should never forget the history. Other buildings like Palace Museum and Summer Palace can also be symbols of the Chinese culture, so it isn’t necessary to rebuild this garden. Some also worry that the environment will be destroyed when the construction goes on in this district.

重建的花园支持者说，只有这样，我们才能看到花园的，它反映了中国文明的原始景象。这将是一个供游客感兴趣的地方。如果部分重建，它将提供一个比较和帮助我们记住历史。

谁不同意那些认为较合理的保持这样的花园。该遗址将提醒过我们。我们决不能忘记历史。如故宫博物院，颐和园等其他建筑物也可以是中华文化的象征，所以没有必要重建此园。有些人还担心会破坏环境建设的推移，当在此区。

个人而言，这是明智的重建圆明园，这将增加美丽的城市。更重要的是，新的景区，无疑会促进地方经济发展。

仲夏的一个凉爽的夜晚，我终于可以躺下休息了，看着房间里的手机，闪烁的灯光吓了我一跳。

我讨厌停电，讨厌晚上走路，讨厌各种让我心跳的“意外”!

“哈哈哈，我肚子疼，谁来帮助我……”是谁在笑?当然是我们的“四胖”徐子昊啦!原来我们在玩“一二三”木头人。

这个游戏规则很简单，有一位裁判员，游戏者三到六人，数“一二三”的时候，你无论怎样淘都可以，就算你跳起来也可以，但是一说完木头人，无论你在做什么都需要停止，如果有人忍不住笑或者说话、行动等，他就是这个游戏的失败者。

徐子昊是裁判员，“一二三，木头人!”徐子昊“卟哧”一声笑喷了出来，原来，我们的姿势真是可以用上“千姿百态”：李泓毅刚要伸一个懒腰，结果徐子昊就说完了木头人，所以没办法，李泓毅只好等游戏结束再接着伸懒腰，没过一会了，李泓毅就支持不住，“啪”地一声趴在地上，没法，李泓毅只好当起了裁判员，他来看我，发现我还在保持原有姿势，于是他逗我，刚要亲我，林照海一个箭步冲了过去，把李泓毅扑倒在地上，王一博几乎在同一时间，也不行了，因为他的右腿被我的左腿压得十分疼痛。

现在，只剩下我和杨子墨了，徐子昊又给我们增加了难度，不许眨眼睛，我心想：不许眨眼，那干脆闭眼不就得了?“三二一，木头人!”而我与地面仅差一厘米的时候，“人”字说完了，嗯，完了，好累，但是就在我刚要放弃的时候，杨子墨“卟哧”倒在了地上，耶!我是最后一个存活在!

教室里回响着我们的笑声。上课铃响了，我们依依不舍地回到座位上，开始上课了。

April 12 is memorable because our class had a meaningful experience on that day. In the morning, we bicycled to the suburbs to plant trees, talking and laughing all the way. Upon arrival, we began to work immediately. Some were digging holes. Some were carrying and planting young trees. Others were watering . After getting the work done, we put up a board reminding people to protect the trees. Before leaving we took some photos to record our green action. Seeing the lines of trees, we all had a sense of achievement. We feel it’s our duty to protect and beautify our environment.
