how i spent my summer vacation

summer can be very hot in southern taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"c or more. because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. also because of this i stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky. actually i like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. in the summer vacation that has just ended i went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. this summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. as a second-year senior student i had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. in other words, i must find time to study, too. so i divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement

The new semester began, I was determined, early planning for the new term.

First, learn to preview.

On what they have learned lessons before the teacher speak new lesson prepare carefully. See which words, dont understand which sentence, standard notation. To listen to the teacher, think carefully, and in this way, can accomplish know fairly well.

Second, learn to listen.

Before the teacher, dont know how to take notes. After the teacher speak, such as mind a blank. The new semester, I must listen earnestly, the emphases and difficulties of the teacher speak in a timely manner is written in the notebook. If you dont understand, ask the teacher. In this semester grade can take an examination of more than 90 points. Teachers and parents hope that I can be in the top three, I must control.

新的学期开始了，我下定决心，为新学期早做打算。

一、学会预习。

在老师讲新课之前，先对所学课文认真预习。看看哪个词、哪个句子不懂，标上记号。到老师讲课时认真听，仔细想，这样，就可以做到心中有数了。

二、学会听讲。

以前老师讲课时，不懂得如何记笔记。等老师讲完后，脑子里一片空白。新的学期，我一定要认真听讲，把老师讲的重点、难点及时写在笔记本上。如果没有听懂，就向老师请教。争取在本学期各科成绩都能考90分以上。老师和家长都希望我能进入前三名，我一定要争气。

三、学会阅读。

“书读百遍，其义自见。”我决心利用课余时间，多读对小学生有益的课外读物，努力提高自己的作文水平。

四、学做家务。

我已经长大了，一定要做爸爸、妈妈的小帮手，做些力所能及的家务活，减轻爸爸、妈妈的负担。
