Sandy Alexander lives in Newport Beach, California. He has a disability that requires his two-year-old dog, Doc, to be always at his side. Mr. Alexander took the dog to the flight school toget him ready for plane trips. He says Doc did not like the bumpy part of the flight simulation.

"When that started he was pretty agitated and looked up at me and wasnt sure what wasgoing on, and I think we are going to be prepared the next time it happens."

Dog trainer Mary Segall is with Canine Companions for Independence. It provides dogs forpeople with disabilities. Ms. Segall says successful training is based on a simple rule:preparation.

"Dogs need to be exposed gradually and repetitively to stimulation, to the environment, toloud noises, to sounds and other dogs so that when this experience happens to them on adaily basis, theyre able to act in a way that theyre used to acting and that they dont getexcitable."

Stacy Huckebas nine-month-old dog, Striker, is still in training to be a guide dog.

"I dont fly a lot so I dont know a lot, but, so I dont know the routine myself. So with a dog Iwould have been lost."

Dog owners who attended the training at Air Hollywood K9 Flight School say they now feelmuch more at ease about future flights. Their dogs also seem ready for takeoff.

我家里养了一只可爱的小狗，名字叫小豆豆。它是我逛街时从宠物市场买来的。

它非常美丽，小巧的脑袋上镶嵌着一对乌黑的小眼睛，鼻子湿乎乎的，一看它那修长有敏捷的小腿，就知道它跑得很快。它每当见我放学回家时，它便摇起了又短又细的小尾巴上前迎接。

它的性格十分古怪，说它贪睡吧，它的确很懒，整天躺在“床”上睡大觉，怎么叫它也不肯起床，可是一旦它睡够了，便会玩性大发，什么东西都成了它的玩具，比如：和沙发巾拔河啊，和在我们家“旅游”啊等等，不过它也是一个大肚汉，一顿要吃一烟灰缸馍，再喝一些水。它的生活习性也很有趣，它 的吃、休息、运动都令我们一家人，哈哈大笑。它吃的时候很好玩，咬住一块馍花儿，头总是往前一伸才能咽下去，它吃完后总是“咯吱，咯吱”的磨牙，好像在清理牙上残留的污渍，它比较爱吃肉和馍花儿；它休息只喜欢睡在我的腿上，我只好应着它，盘腿坐下让它躺到我腿上睡大觉，它喜欢把腿头放在两腿中间，不过我有时也让它反着睡，可是它总一反又开始睡着了，它有一个习惯，只能睡在暖和的地方；它非常喜欢运动，只要你带它出去玩，那怕只是溜溜它，它也会高兴地摇着小尾巴，它也喜欢在家里面玩，比如：去我姐的床底下探险啊，或者在家里面逛一逛……。

可是在不久前豆豆却不幸的死掉了，我嚎啕大哭起来，我心里非常难过，有说不出的痛苦，我多么希望这只是一个梦，而小豆豆却在床边等我起床，可惜它再也不这样了，虽然它死了，但是它小巧的身影，却永远不会消失在我的脑海里，我多么希望它可以活过来，小豆豆，活过来吧！

姨妈家养了一只叫“王子”的退役导盲犬。它浑身雪白，像个雪球。独有那两颗黑珍珠般的眼睛滴溜溜乱转。湿湿的鼻子下面有一张大嘴巴，大嘴巴里有一条长长的，粉红的舌头，它经常把舌头伸出来哈气，发出“哈哈”的声音，大耳朵耷拉下去，一动不动地蹲在那里，像个威风的武士，神气极了！

因为王子以前受过特殊训练，所以比一般的狗更有灵性，听得懂“来”“前进”“停”“趴下”等很多口令，还会和我玩“捡东西”的游戏。有一次，我把一个空瓶子扔出去很远，让王子去捡。听到命令，王子像离弦的箭一样冲过去，叼起那个空瓶子迅速的向我跑回来，尾巴不停地摇，恨不得翘到天上去，好像在说：“这点儿小事还能难得倒我！”

每次我去姨妈家，它都像见了老朋友似的围着我团团转，摇头摆尾伸舌头，别提有多热情了！它是我去姨妈家时最要好的小伙伴。

至从有一天，妈妈说：好久没去姥姥家了，今天去看看吧，这使我猛的想起了被我遗忘的好朋友点点，吃过午饭，我们去了姥姥家，一见面，我还差点没有认出，当初像“豆芽形”的小狗，现在却长得又粗又高，看起来威风凛凛的，鼻子上也有一点淡淡的红色，显得格外精神。

在回家的路上，我想了许久，为什么当初的小狗到了姥姥家就长大了？也吃胖了呢？我想是因为姥姥家的饭很合它的胃口吧。呵呵，我家的小点点可爱吧。
